We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing communications professional to work with our Executive Director and small staff team to help us meet the needs of 1000+ members working on a wide range of policies and programmes in the UK and internationally.. This role will be varied and involve significant elements of the full range of marketing and communications activity, leading on campaigns to increase membership, grow our training and events programme and deepen our influence with government, academic, private and voluntary sector stakeholders.
You can be based anywhere in the UK and we offer up to 10% employer contribution to your pension.
We are particularly seeking someone with experience of working in a social sciences, science or evaluation-focussed organisation.

About the Role
As the CEO of Serve, your role will be to provide the strategic leadership, vision and direction to help the organisation to deliver its mission to support independent living for older adults and people living with disabilities and their carers.
You will collaborate with the Trustees to provide strategic direction, operational management and impactful leadership to ensure the effective delivery of our services and the fulfilment of our organisational goals.
You will play a vital role in the continued growth and financial sustainability of Serve and will work alongside sector partners to improve the lives of service users across Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire.
The CEO plays a vital role in the governance of the Charity and must work closely with the Chairperson and the Board of Directors (Trustees). The relationship between the CEO and the Board is centred on an open, honest and mutually respectful professional relationship. The Trustees have delegated responsibility to the CEO to run the Charity in a professional, inclusive respectful and caring way. It is, therefore, critical that the post holder maintains a positive working relationship with the Board facilitating open and transparent communication. The role of the CEO is to be responsible for the day to day running of the Charity.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone with a background in leadership in an adult social care setting or related sector with an understanding of the voluntary sector.

We are looking for an individual passionate about making a difference to local communities and housing to join our hard-working team. As our Rural Housing Enabler, they will be working in partnership with local communities and Local Authorities to achieve affordable rural housing across rural Bedfordshire. They will also engage with communities, housing organisations, Parish Councils, Local Authorities, landowners, developers, agents, planners, other partners and community leaders to bring forward sites and solutions to meet local need through the provision of affordable housing projects on rural sites.
Who We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate previous experience of community engagement and building successful partnerships alongside successful project management.
The candidate will have expertise in housing development as well as knowledge of affordable and community-led housing and associated funding and delivery models.
They will be able to work on their own and as part of a team, managing time and prioritising their work programme. They will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and good organisational and IT skills.
