The Community Support and Insight (CSI) Team puts the 38 Degrees community of supporters in focus, by listening to and understanding their views, priorities and experiences, so that 38 Degrees can better reach and mobilise a powerful, broad community to create change and tell a compelling, story about the fairer, more respectful and sustainable country we want to become.
We lead on representing the views and real life experiences of our audiences so that supporters can be front and centre of our campaigns, and we deeply understand who is part of our community - bringing data that makes our campaigns more impactful and supporter-driven, and ensuring campaigns better resonate with our broad, representative community and beyond. We amplify these findings for use internally and externally.
The CSI Officer, reporting to the Head of CSI, delivers a full-range of activities, from providing a high quality service and experience to 38 Degrees' community of supporters and stakeholders, to collecting and reporting on relevant data and information and providing analysis of what we hear from the community of supporters and target audiences
The Officer role is responsible for making recommendations that contribute to ongoing CSI analysis and campaign decisions, using a variety of data points and channels, supporting the wider team to utilise community insights to make 38 Degrees more impactful and engaging, and to empower the 38 Degrees community. The role is also responsible for implementing relevant recommendations when required.
This job describes the role of the Community Support and Insight Officer. The 38 Degrees team works in a culture of togetherness and passion for our issues and determination to win, so from time to time, the team will be expected to perform activities outside of their normal role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MANAGE INTEGRATED PROCESSES

Analyse and report on CSI data, in line with 38 Degrees' data handling and security guidelines, in support of campaign design and delivery as well as data-driven strategic decision-making.

Responsible for resolving queries from a variety of communication channels from our community of supporters and the public,while consistently meeting agreed response timelines and overseeing the timely resolution of urgent queries.

Provide high quality service standards and supporter experience, based on established guidelines. Continue to develop, update, and implement these guidelines and best practices, and lead relevant staff training.

Contribute to maintaining a culture that understands the priorities and experiences of the 38 Degrees community of supporters whilst challenging the perspectives of the wider team.
ALIGN

Advise cross functional teams on community insights by utilising all available data sources and channels to understand our community of supporters and target audiences

Bring timely analysis and recommendations to relevant teams from insights on a regular basis, which support the implementation of change and improves our campaigns and communities experience, and puts supporters front and centre

Duties and Responsibilities
Administration:
• To work within BSWA’s administrative and financial systems.
• To ensure that adequate records are kept for all service users.
• To keep accurate records of financial transitions in line with BSWA’s procedures.
• To ensure that Health and Safety records are kept up to date.
• To monitor and evaluate the refuge service via various methods including feedback from service users and by producing statistical information.
• To keep inventories of all refuge contents.
• To contribute where appropriate to the preparation of returns for funders.
Support Work:
• To produce and regularly review Individual Support Plans (ISP) for each service user, in conjunction with the service user.
• To recognise women and children’s individual needs and refer to specialist agencies where necessary as part of their ISP.
• To identify the needs of women and children leaving BSWA refuge after being offered permanent accommodation.
• To identify and make links with existing projects and community services and to develop joint services where appropriate.
• To ensure the primary needs of residents are met. This includes medical, financial, housing, legal and education rights.
• To organise activities and celebrations in the refuge for women and children which raise self-esteem, bring people together and broaden awareness.
• To assist women in making claims for any welfare benefits that they may be entitled to.
• To ensure that appropriate applications are made for re-housing.
• To accompany women as appropriate and agreed by your line manager, to case conferences and meetings that may affect their own and/or their children’s welfare.
• To make representations, as appropriate and agreed by your line manager, to external bodies in support of women and children.

Premises and Equipment:
• To take referrals and welcome women and children into the refuge.

• To ensure that the refuge revenue is collected by completing housing benefit forms and all personal contributions are collected on a weekly basis, in advance.
• To report to your line manager any difficulties in relation to the collection of rent and other charges.
• To ensure that any house rules are read and understood by new tenants and that all residents comply with them.
Training:
• To identify and attend training relevant to the post in agreement with your line manager.
• To work alongside colleagues to organise in-house training and information sessions on a range of issues for service users.

General:

Our new national Peer-to-Peer Support Service will be working with thousands of kinship carers and kinship carer volunteers to create a network of support groups across England. Funded by the Department for Education, this new service will be game-changing for kinship carers. The support groups will enable kinship carers to connect with other kinship carers, and offer them a safe space to share experiences, learn from each other and provide emotional support.

Wolfram Syndrome UK (WSUK)
WSUK is a small national charity based in West Sussex that supports children, young people and adults affected by Wolfram Syndrome (WS) and their parents/wider families. WS is an ultra-rare genetic disorder which causes a complex range of symptoms, including diabetes mellitus, vision problems, renal problems, deafness, and neurological problems. WSUK provides current, accurate and family-friendly information, raises awareness of WS among health professionals and the public, and helps to fund WS research.
Family Support Co-ordinator Role
WSUK is seeking a part-time family support co-ordinator (25 hours per week, across 4-5 days, 0.67 FTE, £16k-£18.25k per annum). This home-based role will provide on-going support to children and young people affected by WS and their families and facilitate their engagement with the NHS WS multi-disciplinary (MDT) clinic services provided by Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH). This role will encourage and help families to attend the WS MDT clinics at BCH and gain the most value from their interactions with expert health professionals. Through liaising with schools, colleges and other external support organisations, this role will also provide advocacy services to families of WS affected children/young people, helping to facilitate access to the services to which they are entitled. The family support co-ordinator will also act as an important point of contact for these families, providing advice and support in confidence.
Skills and experience
Applicants should have several years’ experience in a similar position, working with children/young people affected by sensory loss, long-term medical/genetic condition, or disability. Applicants should also have a strong desire to improve the lives of children and young people living with a long-term condition or disability and be confident in talking with families with a range of abilities and diverse cultural backgrounds. Applicants should have experience in working effectively as part of a remote team, be confident in working independently and in managing conflicting priorities. About the role

The Role
The project funded by the Elwyn Thomas Memorial Fund will deliver an Emotional Support Service as well as through collaborative community working, will result in valuable assets for the community, in the shape of self-sustaining peer and volunteer led support through groups, partnerships and activities.
Reporting to the Emotional Support Service Manager, the team will deliver a professional counselling service to stroke survivors, carers and relatives. Counselling sessions are designed to help clients to develop emotional resilience, readjust to life after stroke and prepare to reintegrate into community life.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing one to one counselling to stroke survivors, carers and relatives including those with communication or cognitive difficulties
- Providing counselling sessions in person, on-line or by telephone, throughout Cornwall
- Assessing the appropriateness of counselling for service users by providing emotional needs assessment sessions as well as using appropriate screening/evaluation tools (e.g. CORE)
- Managing risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal, ethical and organisational requirements.
About You

- An advanced diploma in integrative, humanistic or person-centred counselling/psychotherapy; for example, BACP recognised course or equivalent (i.e. 450 hours’ skills and theory, 100 hours of supervised practice, 20 hours of personal therapy)

Job Overview
GPiMHS / MHICS is an emotional and wellbeing service that supports adults aged over 18 in primary care who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Patients are offered extended consultation times, quick and easy access to practical advice and tailored support for their mental health needs from a multidisciplinary team.
Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, the Lived Exp Pract will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. As an integral and highly valued member of the team, the Lived Exp Pract will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey. In particular, the Lived Exp Pract will support the smooth transition of people using the service to other Mental Health services, by helping them to complete recovery and crisis plans for example. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for the fulfillment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.
Suitable for someone who is kind, caring and supportive with good interpersonal and communication skills and who is keen to provide the highest quality experience for people using GPiMHS / MHICS.
