Job description
We are one of the largest learning disability charities in the UK, supporting over 2,500 people through our friendly, supportive, creative and diverse teams.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced administrator and call-handler to join our small but busy team at the Family Carer Support Service (FCSS) – a support, information and advocacy service for family carers who have a relative with a learning disability, autism or both.

You will be responsible for all administrative tasks of the Family Carer Support Service, and may also be required to provide administrative support for other charitable services within Hft.

About you

As the administrator you will be the first point of contact for people contacting us via our Freephone line, so an excellent telephone manner and good interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Experience of answering a charity phone line is desirable.

As the administrator you will deal with incoming and outgoing calls and post, maintain the FCSS database and Excel reporting spreadsheets, provide financial administrative support, contribute to our website, respond to emails and send out the monthly e-newsletter, organise and provide support for events, and carry out signposting support for the people who contact us. You will therefore require excellent administration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload as part of a busy team.

You must also strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to use Hft’s various finance and reporting systems.

Salary: £21,889 pro rata
Hours: Part Time, 28 per week
Contract: Fixed term - Maternity cover
Location: Remote based with occasional travel
