The role
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the efficiency of our HR operations and the smooth running of our office. You will provide administrative support across the full spectrum of the HR employee life cycle, from recruitment through to retirement, and ensure our office is a professional and welcoming space for staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Summary of the role:

- Develop a thorough understanding of Muslim Aid’s work areas in order to ensure strategic linkages / appropriate dissemination of information or assignment of actions.

The role
The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for press liaison, pitching in case studies and news stories about our research to the national press, building relationships with our celebrity patrons and families and creating content for our social media channels. A key part of the role is supporting the fundraising campaigns by helping to draft relevant copy for email campaigns and calls-to-action on social media.
The charity has a small team, so everyone helps with thanking and banking, database management and administrative tasks. This role will also lead on supporting the archdiocese in telling the story of the Cathedral, past, present and future and helping build the vision of the new Visitor Centre. We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us translate our vision and engage with our communities and visitors to our city. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. Responsible for corporate hospitality, the Administrator will provide excellent in-person customer care for visitors to the organisation’s central London Hub and act a first point of contact via the organisation’s in-bound telephone hunt groups.
Working in support of the Office & Facilities Manager, you will ensure the implementation of the organisation’s health and safety procedures on daily basis and contribute more generally to the management and maintenance tasks of the Hub and the broader Crane Grove estate.
Dynamic and able to contribute either independently or as part of a team, you will work with a hands-on approach to establish and help maintain the systems needed to propel the organisation forward.
You will also assist the Engagement & Communications department with ongoing outreach projects, by contributing to periodic fundraising fulfilment tasks related to appeals mailings, and by supporting outward-bound telephone campaign tasks.
Your knowledge, flexibility, energy, and professionalism will place you at the heart of the team making you a vital component in the organisation’s continuing success.
This position will be based from our Cardiff Office (agile working agreement in place).
Main Purpose: To support the efficiency of the National and Regional Offices through the provision of an efficient and effective translation and administration service including marketing and communications.The successful candidate will need two years of translation experience and an eye for detail with creative skills to support our marketing and social media.
- To translate all of the organisation’s letters, documents, newsletters, social media copy and publications into Welsh, or into English as appropriate
- To assist in the content/ maintenance of the company and project websites, social media and marketing.
- To accurately input and create reports of impact data including work completed by Childcare Business Development Officers and Training Officers, using computer programmes including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access as well as online portfolios and portals
- To contribute to the overall efficiency of the office, providing administrative skills for the office.
- To assist in the organisation of meetings and events, and taking and distributing accurate minutes of meetings as required.

Essential ·
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Welsh
- Translation experience or relevant qualification with the ability to translate from English to Welsh and vice versa
- Administration and marketing experience
- Excellent computer literacy skills – in using Microsoft applications such as MS Word, Access, Excel and Outlook, MS SharePoint and Teams and Zoom. Experience in using a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM), and updating websites and social media sites would be an advantage
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task
- To promote and maintain a professional image in line with organisational policy, with a professional telephone manner, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a flexible attitude that can adapt to the varying requirements of a dynamic and busy office. Discretion and confidentiality in handling personal details is also essential.
