Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.
The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.
Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation. This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.
The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:
You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support. You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.
You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems. Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.
You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.
The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. - Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
- Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
- Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.
About you:
With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. As a valued member of our Customer Engagement team, your role will be pivotal in driving our support and fundraising efforts through outbound calling. Your mission is to connect with our British Heart Foundation (BHF) supporters, who are the lifeblood of our organisation.
Here’s how you’ll make a difference:
- Supporter Engagement Specialist: Connecting with our BHF supporters through outbound calls.
- Fundraising Event Advocate: Promoting major fundraising events like the London Marathon and the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
- Customer Experience Ambassador: Enhancing satisfaction and relationships through social media and stewardship activities.
Working arrangements
We have two 6-month fixed term contracts available. These roles, while initially for six months, could potentially lead to permanent job opportunities.
Working hours are between 09:00am – 07:00pm, subject to business needs. Normal working hours are 09:00am to 05:00pm - Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work 11:00am - 07:00pm during peak event season.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our Birmingham office (B37 7YE).
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you
- Outbound Calling Experience: You’ve honed your skills in a call centre environment, where you’ve built strong relationships over the phone. You can use your experience in this environment to enhance our customer experience and drive fundraising revenue.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Your written and spoken English is impeccable. You’ve previously experience engaging with customers via social media.
- Tech Proficiency: Your computer literacy is top-notch, you have experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and data entry.
- Outstanding Customer Service: World-class customer service is your mantra. Your empathy and enthusiasm radiate, and your skills enable you to facilitate informative and engaging customer interactions.
- Attention to Detail: You’re meticulous. Whether it’s accurately recording data or ensuring smooth operations, your administrative skills shine through.

This role will lead on providing senior technical advice, leadership and guidance to the planning, delivery and monitoring of communications activities across the organisation.

We are looking for a Nursery Practitioner at YMCA St James’s Road Day Nursery, Dudley. The Nursery offers childcare places for up to 100 children, providing a warm and welcoming environment where families can feel valued and obtain positive help and support.
Responsibilities for the role of a Nursery Practitioner include but aren’t limited to:
· Contributing to promoting good practice and maintaining a high-quality provision
· Completing observations, planning, and prepare a variety of learning enriched activities for your key group using the Early Years Foundation Stage
