As CFG's Policy Officer you will make an impactful contribution to CFG's policy and advocacy work. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including policy-makers, charity members and corporate partners, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Policy Team's work and effectiveness. You will be comfortable using your research and analytical skills to ensure CFG remains at the forefront of its advocacy work on behalf of its members and the wider sector. You will have a passion for getting to grips with complex policy issues and bringing people together to engage with them. As a member of the Policy and Communications Directorate, you'll work alongside the Communications Team and other colleagues to ensure our policy work is shared with a range of external audiences. Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.
Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.
As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.

This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. We’re looking for someone with experience of both campaigning, including an understanding of the basic tools and techniques used in campaigning, and of working with volunteers and services users, including how best to support them to achieve their campaigning goals.
About the role
You’ll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across Wales. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people in local communities affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with volunteers and colleagues in the wider Wales team to do focussed campaigning and advocacy work.
Through co-production you’ll ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard by decision makers.
What you’ll do:

Support the development and delivery of campaigns activity for Wales and proactively identify opportunities for public-facing campaigns.

Recruit and manage a sustainable community of campaign volunteers.

Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity.

Organise and deliver training events for people with lived experience who wish to engage as well as campaign volunteers.

Create content for public facing elements of campaigns, including supporter actions, web pages, newsletter and social media.
What you’ll bring:

The Operations Officer will support the operation and development of the AAP programme across the UK. This role will support a portfolio of AAPs – the AAP network itself encompasses a variety of providers for all Sections of the Award, from, large UK wide charities to sole traders.
This position will involve working alongside two other Operations Officers within the AAP Team, splitting the support of AAPs into three portfolios. The role will be field-based, and applicants will work from home most of the time, meeting with the AAP contacts virtually, delivering training and conducting audits remotely wherever possible, with some travel to attend field-based audits when necessary, as well as attending conferences and meetings.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, proactive, and effective team player to join the AAP Team. The post holder will report to the UK Operations Manager (Approved Activity Providers) and will be responsible for the day-to-day contact with and management of Approved Activity Providers (AAPs) in order to support the delivery of the AAP Team business plan.
You will be a passionate advocate for the work of the DofE and be driven to realise the DofE’s strategic ambition to give more than one million young people the chance to participate in our life-changing programmes, over the next five years.
