Our Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods. Antidote is a part of London Friend, the UK’s oldest LGBTQ+ charity, which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.
The largest focus of Antidote’s work is chemsex. Over recent years a need has emerged for rehabilitative support for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) who are part of the criminal justice system linked with chemsex-related offending.
We have recently been awarded an Innovation Grant to deliver a pilot project with HMPPS aimed at supporting this cohort of men serving community sentences or leaving prison. The pilot will test one to one and group support. It will also work with prison and probation staff to improve a drug treatment pathway, including working in HMP Thameside and with their healthcare team to improve knowledge and awareness of chemsex for prison-based staff and to implement a smooth transition into community-based drug treatment on release.
The post holder will provide support to GBMSM referred through the pilot. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will develop and deliver new group programmes for this cohort of GBMSM and work collaboratively with prison and probation staff. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, including information used to monitor and evaluate the pilot.
They will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes, with a priority on identifying and supporting clients within the criminal justice system.

Due to the nature of the work and in order to provide appropriate access for the clients group the role may require regular evening work and occasional weekend working.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a new service based in Lewisham, we are looking for a specialist to join the team as a Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis Worker. You will be based within our SLaM Independent Community Rehabilitation Service which runs 24 hours a day. It provides specialist enhanced rehabilitation support to adults typically aged between 18 and 65 who are diagnoses with severe and enduring mental health needs, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. We provide accommodation and support across two sites in Catford.
In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve improved outcomes. You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will work to the long term support needs of our residents and work towards facilitating improved outcomes.
Shift Pattern: This role is part time 22.5 hours per week which could range 09:00- 17:00 or 14:00 - 22:00

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant needs.
Include appropriate substance misuse interventions within support plans for those with co-occurring substance dependence and mental health need devising systematic plans for care; implementing this plan; coordinating the input of others and evaluating effectiveness. - Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with residents/participants to help determine service and support needs and identify where these can be met. Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, recovery, and achievements.
- Encourage residents/participants to identify and define their own goals and work towards being resilient and independent as possible, support with reducing reliance on clinical interventions and hospitalisations.
- Promote active involvement of those with substance dependency and dual diagnosis, assist residents/participants to identify their own strengths, personal interests and goals and support them to access and participate in activities of their choice.
- Undertake time-limited, SMART, and a range of evidence-based interventions such as 1-1’s, including harm minimisation, increasing awareness and motivation through stages of change and relapse prevention.
- Support in creating and maintaining a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents/participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
- Positively promote and support connections with local communities and boroughs of SIG’s services and liaise with other teams to maintain and share knowledge and links to support people to access resources which include print, personal and digital.
- Develop community links and liaise regularly with a range of agencies and individuals across voluntary and third sector services in the community including but not limited to; drug and alcohol services, supported employment schemes, gyms and healthy living programmes, recovery colleges, and benefits and advice agencies.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse and challenging behaviours
- Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental illness who use substances
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
- Able to recognise ill health and additional support and need for interventions
- Knowledge of the interactions between mental health problems and drug and alcohol use and the issues facing people trying to stabilise their situation
- Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation
- Ability to engage those who may be hard to reach, able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others
What we would like, but not essential:
- Experience in delivering training in motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Theory informed approaches and other relevant recovery models

Responsible to Director of Services (subject to review)
Purpose of Post To support users of services through an education, training, and employability programme integrated with SCT’s wider services and enterprise offer, as well as partner opportunities in the wider community. Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical support and training to people affected by homelessness and addictions so they can rebuild their lives. We have a Recovery Hub in Shoreditch, where we run an abstinence-based residential recovery service (‘Acorn House’), and a Training and Development service, including tutor-led art, creative writing, digital skills, gardening, literacy, and woodwork. In addition, we run Housing First and Supported Housing services, both in East London. We also have eight charity shops and two social enterprises, which give us a presence in the wider East London community while generating valuable funds.

About us
Providence Row believes that no one should have to sleep rough and that everyone should have access to the support they need to find a safe place to call home. The Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant (RSDATG) programme was established in 2020 and is based within The Dellow Centre; run by Providence Row. The service aims to support and enhance the quality of life for all locally connected rough sleepers in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets; by offering through care service from initial engagement and harm reduction and for some, then moving into treatment, and then recovery.
The role:We are recruiting to fill two vacancies. The role will involve but is not limited to the following.
- Holding a caseload of people who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness through eviction, where their substance and/or alcohol use has impacted on their housing and ability to sustain accommodation
- To work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes are achieved, safeguarding is shared and to increase the persons access to support services.
- Increase the total number of people accessing structured treatment & recovery through a bespoke pathway for rough sleepers as well as sustain treatment for these individuals, reduce their risks, and support bespoke planned treatment exits or transitions into community-based services (continuity of care).
- Reducing barriers of accessing Primary Healthcare services, such as GP registration, attending hospital appointments and specialist health services by advocating for and supporting clients.
- Attending and coordinating client related MDT’s and attendance at meetings relating to the rough sleeping community
- Delivering a non-judgemental, non-coercive needle exchange service that centres each person’s own goals in regard to their substance use and overall wellness.

Right now, Richmond Fellowship is looking for an Employment Specialist to join our team in Leatherhead, Surrey. We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment. We also support people to retain their employment when they are struggling at work due to their mental health. We also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace. But, it’s only possible with the help of people like you.
Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with partner organisations, local employers and Mental Health teams and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.
As well as a good understanding of mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required.
The post holder will be a car driver or have the ability to travel independently across a large geographical area within Surrey.

About the Role:
The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Kingfisher Court or Albany Lodge and HMN Centres, promoting joint working between Kingfisher Court staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 10 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patient’s homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.
The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to encourage patients to develop their independence within their local community.

Our client Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical help, support and training to people affected by homelessness or suffering from addiction. Children's Services Practitioner (Social Worker)

The successful candidates will be joining the London and South East Hub based in Camden, working with a team of passionate and experienced practitioners and managers in delivering and evaluating a range of exciting and innovative services to children and their families. The portfolio of services provides the opportunity to work in a variety of areas of interest which includes both child and adult-facing work through one-to-one or groupwork delivery.
The current service portfolio in the London and South East Hub includes:
- Domestic Abuse Recovering Together (DART)– a groupwork programme that helps mothers and children strengthen their relationship following domestic abuse.
- Letting the Future In (LTFI) – a therapeutic programme designed to help children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse rebuild their lives and recover from the impact of abuse. Parents and carers are critical to the child or young person's recovery, so we work with them to help them support their child throughout the therapeutic process. We also provide support to siblings.
- Pregnancy in Mind (PiM) this service is a preventative, evidence-based, groupwork, mental health service for parents-to-be who are at risk of or are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and / or depression during the perinatal period. The programme is for any expectant parent.
This is an exciting time for the NSPCC, with staff at all levels engaging in a range of new projects and developments. As well as contributing in terms of direct work, there will be the opportunity to be involved in evaluation and work openly with our colleagues in media and income generation, as well as alongside Local Campaigns and Schools Service within the Hub.
The role will require holding a manageable caseload and we will provide access to a range of training and development opportunities. Practitioners are supervised and supported by a Team Manager with knowledge and experience of practice, who show a real commitment to enabling practitioners to achieve their full potential.
The ideal practitioners will be passionate about working with, and making a difference for, children and their families. They will be open to learning, committed to working as part of a team and co-working with colleagues internally and externally. The practitioners will have the ability to: plan and deliver appropriate programmes of work with individuals, families, and groups; be reflective in evaluating the effectiveness of their own practice; identify risk; have, and continue to ensure they have, up to date knowledge of legislation, research and best practice; and be able to produce an excellent standard of written work and assessments.
