Do you envisage a world free from animal suffering? As a Grassroots Organiser, you will help make this vision a reality by organising regular campaign events and actions in your local area. All materials provided and relevant expenses paid.
Why join us? We exist to end the abuse of animals raised for food. We work specifically on corporate focused campaigns demanding better welfare practices for chickens. The actions and events you organise will help to open the eyes of the general public to the truth of factory farming, and add vital pressure onto our corporate targets, ultimately resulting in reducing animal suffering.

We're a remote team, so we can support you wherever you are in the UK. There are no limitations on location.
As a Grassroots Organiser, you will be changing animal lives by:
-
Organising events/actions in your local area including social meet-ups, peaceful protests, leafleting and public outreach (roughly 1 event every 6-8 weeks is ideal where possible). All materials are provided and relevant expenses paid.
-
Promote your events/actions and encourage others to join you, bringing people together for the animals to create change
-
Joining us at other in-person events/actions including peaceful protests organised by staff and other volunteers
-
Get involved in campaign actions remotely, such as writing emails, letters, social media actions and more
-

If you’re excited by the prospect of speaking to the public and taking the lead to organise local actions, all while making a genuine difference to animals, this is the role for you.

BCT's National Bat Helpline provides easily accessible & accurate information to almost 15,000 enquirers a year. We need your help to answer bat care calls we receive, from members of the public who've found grounded, injured or lost bats.
Location: Home-based
Dates: May - Sep
Deadline: Midnight, Monday 1st April
Bats are amazing animals and an important part of our natural environment. There are 18 species of bat in the UK, all of which are protected by law. The Helpline’s role in advising and supporting people who encounter bats is an important part of BCT’s work towards our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together.
We are approaching the time of year when bats become more active, and our Helpline becomes very busy with many calls about bats in need of help. To help as many bats as possible during this critical time, we are now recruiting volunteers to the Volunteer Bat Care Helpline.
About the role
As a volunteer you will answer calls from the public, provide advice on bat care calls, and put them in touch with local bat care volunteers where possible. During our emergency service, volunteers will also be advising on calls relating to bat crime. We consistently receive feedback from volunteers to say that this role can be challenging at times due to the volume of calls, but the support from the team and the knowledge that they are helping bats and advising members of the public makes it such a rewarding role. Many enjoy it so much that they return to volunteer the next season! Volunteers took about 4,754 calls between May and September 2023.
You do not need experience in conservation to volunteer, anyone who is interested in helping bats is welcome. Volunteering for the Helpline is a great way to get involved in conservation from the comfort of your home during your spare time.

Charity Shop Volunteers are involved in a wide range of roles and day-to-day activities that support the running of each shop and even a few hours a week will make a difference.
On the shop floor you could be involved with providing excellent customer service, processing transactions on the tills, replenishing stock and putting up eye-catching displays to entice customers in.
Behind the scenes, volunteers get involved with sorting through donations to find those hidden gems and preparing goods for sale by sorting, steaming and pricing
We provide training, so you don’t need experience – and we reimburse travel expenses so you won’t be out of pocket.
We’re looking for people who are 18 years of age or over that enjoy working as part of a team and making a difference.
