Job description

Job Title: Individual Giving Fundraiser

Salary: £28,080 + benefits 

Location: Remote working with hub allocated when required.

Our tranquil and wildlife-rich spaces provide places to walk, run, bike, boat, fish and rest. It takes an extraordinary team to bring our waterways to life and that is where you come in.

Individual Giving Fundraising is at the heart of the Trust’s Fundraising Development Strategy and with ongoing investment to grow our supporter database and accelerate income generation, it's an exciting time to join our Fundraising Team.

In this role you will be proactive in engaging different audiences and growing relationships with supporters, volunteers and other audiences to maximise income, providing excellent supporter experience to build their commitment.

You will be an external face of the Trust for these audiences, engaging with them and supporting them as they engage with our appeals and in-memory fundraising offers; assisting with all enquires with the aim to develop long term, committed relationships.

Location/base: This role will be based from home, but with an office ‘hub’ for collaborative team meetings.

Experience & Skills: Practical/Technical Knowledge

  • Good level of education with passes to GCSE level or equivalent, including English Language and Maths
  • 2 years minimum fundraising or campaigns experience
  • 1 year minimum experience of managing and/or supervising Volunteers
  • Proven experience of supporting, advising and retaining Supporters
  • Proven experience of managing and delivering a fundraising income target 
  • Knowledge of volunteering practices and charity sector initiatives

Planning, Organising and integrating (managerial) Knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of Fundraising regulation and statutory data compliance,
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety laws and best practice around working with volunteers
  • Knowledge of Fundraising databases and customer relationship management programs
  • Experience of working within a fundraising team

Communicating and Influencing skills

  • You understand what motivates people to support a Charity
  • Excellent presentation skills to all ranges and sizes of audiences
  • Proven ability to build influential relationships at all levels
  • Persuasive and adaptable written and oral communication skills
