About the role
Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.
You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).
The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team. Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.
If you think you have the skills, qualities and drive to fulfil this role, but don’t meet all of the specifications, or perhaps you’ve gained your experience in (for example) commercial sales or within relationships management and are looking to move into development work, we would still welcome hearing from you. Our award winning fundraising division is currently looking for an Engagement and Stewardship Executive to join our Partnership and Philanthropy team in this newly created role for the charity.

How you will make a difference

Working in our National Programmes team, you will ensure that we evaluate, plan for and respond effectively to bids and tenders, lead on the development of proposals, and support service delivery teams in implementing successful tenders/proposals. You will manage a Senior Business Development Officer who supports our work in positioning the organisation to respond to new bids and tenders and, where required, support the implementation of new services.

The merger of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation on 1st April 2023 will enable us to address both questions. By combining our strengths and expertise we’ll be the only significant national funder with the efficiency, capability, and capacity to increase investment in medical research and social improvement. Together we can mitigate both the prevalence and impact of sight loss.
We have a clear ambition, led by our CEO, Keith Valentine, who has valuable lived experience of sight loss. This ambition includes retail growth plans and an income generation strategy to open more shops over the next 5 years. We currently operate 10 shops selling donated goods, including an online eBay shop.

In this exciting new role, you will identify, develop, promote and evaluate programmes and initiatives to attract and retain members.

Requirements
We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Flexibility, Travel and Workspace - We know that both flexibility, relationship development and the time to really understand our work and impact is vitally important in this role. You will need to travel around London and South East for partnership meetings, team meetings and events to build relationships to generate income and support for the charity. You can either base yourself from your home (ideally London/South east or nearby due to the nature of the role) or from our lovely new office at Fivefields, right by Victoria station or from a workspace in Worthing or Brighton.

We are seeking a brilliant major donor fundraiser to play a crucial role in generating funds from HNWIs through major gifts and legacies. As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will step into a newly created position in the team that will focus on creating and implementing a compelling major donor programme.
Your focus will be to inspire giving for investment in the Hall, including initiatives to improve accessibility and sustainability, as well as the Hall’s pioneering community engagement programme. You will be a creative, driven and strategic individual who has a track record of developing engaging supporter journeys and soliciting transformational gifts.
As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will:
- create and deliver the major donor strategy focused on driving growth and income from HNWIs;
- personally manage a portfolio of philanthropists giving 5, 6 and 7-figure gifts;
- oversee and develop the prospect pipeline, proactively researching potential supporters and utilising networks from senior stakeholders involved in the Hall;
- consistently deliver exceptional stewardship journeys, knowing how to capitalise on the incredible array of events at the Hall as powerful engagement tools;
- produce and present compelling cases for support to secure transformational restricted and unrestricted donations;
- provide leadership and support to the Philanthropy Coordinator;
- work closely with the rest of the Philanthropy team to identify and maximise the lifetime support of donors.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of managing and securing 5- and 6-figure+ gifts from HNWIs
- Proven track record of delivering a strong major donor strategy/programme
- Experience identifying major giving opportunities, building a pipeline and being proactive with prospect research
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders of all levels
- Line management experience, and keen interest in motivating and developing direct reports
- A creative flare, team player, proactive and ambitious
- Passion for the arts, sciences and the work of the Royal Albert Hall
Hybrid working, 3-4dpw in Royal Albert Hall, Kensington office. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work in line with the Hall’s events programme, in particular those attended by your donors and prospects.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a global organisation dedicated to funding research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications. JDRF works towards its mission by funding research projects aimed at improving treatments, developing technologies to better manage T1D, and ultimately finding a cure. The charity also provides support and resources to individuals and families affected by T1D, as well as advocating for policies and funding that advance diabetes research and improve access to care.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager role sits within the Fundraising and Engagement Department. JDRF receives no government funding, so all of their income is generated by the activities of this department.
The high-performing team work across the UK to deliver on challenging fundraising targets, collaborating across the organisation to generate income to find a cure and support the type 1 community.
The role supports on the development, including the research and approach of new high value corporate partnerships (£50k to £500k+), that will benefit the work of JDRF financially and/or strategically.
About the role
- Proactively secure and account manage strategic partnerships at 5- and 6-figure level that have long term benefits to JDRF
- Support a team income target of c.£600k.
- Account manage and grow income from corporate partners both new and established.
- Undertake research on corporate prospects by mapping and utilising existing connections and networks to establish new avenues of corporate support.
- Support with preparation of high quality, compelling proposals, presentations and pitches for prospective partners.
