What we are looking for in our People & Culture Assistant:
· Experience of working in a complex administrative role within HR
· Experience of using HR/Payroll/recruitment ATS online systems
· Good numeracy and literacy skills

· Ability to effectively organise and work to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail

The role
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to support our CEO and COO. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention for details. The London Library is looking for an Acquisitions and Discovery Assistant to assist in the acquisition and management of Library E-resources and print resources.
The role includes supporting the successful acquisition and seamless delivery of electronic resources to library users, utilising and maintaining relevant library systems and records; assisting purchasing decisions and supporting licensing, ordering and payment processes; verifying access, liaising with suppliers & Library IT, and ensuring correct metadata is presented to users; plus monitoring resource use and collecting data for the evaluation of subscriptions. The core objective of the Policy and Engagement team is to support governments, civil society and other business influencers to understand, identify and use credible sustainability systems. We do this through direct engagement with relevant government bodies in priority countries, engagement with individual businesses and business platforms and building community member awareness and knowledge about relevant policy files and implications of new policies for their schemes. The team also has a key role in convening members on specific policy issues and supporting a more collective voice and approach to influencing policy developments around sustainability.

Key Responsibilities we will entrust you with:
Events
- Assist in organising event logistics for virtual member working groups on various topics (due diligence, claims, deforestation regulation) including tech support with platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams
- Support content preparation e.g. power point slides
- Communicate with speakers and draft and send event follow up e-mails
- Support project management, engagement tracking, outreach and administration
- Assist with any in-person events, including scouting for venues, support with logistics and preparation of agendas, communication with participants etc.
Communications and platform management

Experience, Knowledge and Attribute
- Experience working or interning in a support/administrative role, ideally in international NGO, professional or membership organisation
- Interest in and possibly some knowledge of policy areas (due diligence, sustainability claims, etc)
- Some understanding of, sustainability standards and certification, which may have been gained in academic, internship, employment or voluntary settings
- Strong organisational skills, and experience supporting on administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts, budget tracking, etc.
- Confidence in communications with peers and external partners, comfortable in public speaking situations (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
- Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with precision and strong attention to detail

The Assistant Housing Manager reports to the Housing Manager to support the delivery of operational efficiency across the Company's six residential sites and services for 206 residents, including leasehold. The role will provide excellent customer service to our residents and work to ensure that each site is safe, secure and compliant with regulatory requirements. The AHM will support the development and implementation of new systems and processes and provide guidance on Housing policies and procedures. This role will work closely with the finance team to manage rental income and invoice payment.
The role holder will deputise in the absence of the Housing Manager.
The successful candidate will excel in communication and organisation, displaying a high level of professionalism while effectively building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in IT and database management is essential, alongside exceptional customer service skills.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager, it is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Shop Manager in Surbiton's brand new Scope shop (Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4NS). The shop will be opening mid 2024. You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. The Role:
This role will cover a wider area of executive support including governance, meeting management, senior leadership team support, managing on-line gatherings, travel management, diary management, correspondence management and relationship management.
The post-holder will be key in supporting the WWP in this, and also, with both WWP and CEO, in mapping out the key events and activities over a 6 year cycle, so that there is a clear structure for the new WWP (and ultimately successor to CEO ) to come into and work with. They will also assist the CEO in “standard agenda planning” for the board, for example, the induction of the new Board in early 2025.
Whilst the role is for 3 days per week, ideally this would be flexible, with the individual working more days at certain times (for example during the Board week) and less at quieter times.
MU is a small team, (about 25) and there is an expectation that all will show flexibility in helping out on areas not explicit in their role descriptions, when time and their expertise and ongoing workload allow
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be proficient in handling the Microsoft suite, zoom, familiarity with handling databases and finance systems. They should be confident in taking minutes in board meetings, experienced in acting as a project manager, able to use a project tool to facilitate planning of schedules for SLT, Board and committees throughout the year, and possess excellent relationship skills, confident to liaise with board members and provincial presidents from around the Globe.

Work Location
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.
