About Alzheimer's Society

Dementia devastates lives. By 2021, 1 million people will be living with the condition. But dementia won't win. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia - wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them.

We are the UK's leading dementia charity. Every day, we work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. We provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need our help. And we are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.

About the role

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Campaigns Officer to join our expanding team within our Public Affairs and Campaigns division. This is a crucial role in the delivery of the Society’s influencing campaigns.

Working with colleagues across the organisation, the successful person will be responsible for developing digital plans and activities to support Alzheimer’s Society’s wider influencing campaign strategies. This role will also play an integral part in engaging and motivating people affected by dementia, staff, volunteers, Society members, supporters and other stakeholders to support Alzheimer’s Society campaigns.

About you

The Campaigns Officer will report to the Campaigns Manager and they will be a member of the Research and Influencing directorate, liaising at all levels within and across the organisation. Externally they will liaise as appropriate with other organisations and providers of services and tools required to develop and run our campaigns. They will represent the Society at external forums and meetings with key stakeholders.

They will also have a key role working closely with public affairs and campaigns colleagues in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and the Policy Team and Regional Public Affairs and Campaigns Team in England. They will work closely with the Dementia Voice team, to ensure people affected by dementia play a full role in our work.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in the lives of people affected by dementia. We are proud to support our people with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

You may have experience of the following: Campaigns Officer, Communications Officer, Marketing Communications, Social Media, Campaigning, Charity, Third Sector, Not for Profit, Advocacy, NHS, Content Management, Marketing Communications Executive, Campaign Coordinator, Marketing Campaigns, PR, Public Relations, Media Relations, etc.
