Job description

Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Talkback has been working with people with a learning disability since 1998, aiming to achieve choice, opportunity and respect. Talkback is user led and knows what life is like when you have a learning disability. We have a workforce of around 75 staff.

We are currently recruiting for an HR Assistant :

  • Salary :               £18500 pro rata (actual salary £7400)
  • Working hours: 15 hours per week (to be worked flexibly over 2 or 3 days/week)
  • Location:         Amersham and Aylesbury

This interesting role is part time, 15 hours a week, and the successful candidate will report to, and work alongside, the HR Manager to contribute towards a high standard of HR service delivery.

The role includes maintaining the HR database and paper files, recording and monitoring staff attendance, organising mandatory training, supporting the HR Manager with recruitment and completing additional HR administration tasks. It also encompasses the recruitment and coordination of volunteers, which is a new area for Talkback.

This role includes tasks that are integral to the running of a busy office, including answering the telephone, receiving packages and maintaining filing and storage systems.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of HR administration skills whilst working for a very nurturing and worthwhile organisation that supports people with learning disabilities.

You must be someone who is personable, motivated and good at working both in a team and under your own initiative. You will also be extremely well organised, with good administration skills, a desire to learn and preferably have experience of working in an HR environment.

Closing date: Friday 27th March
