We are looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to work alongside the Shop Manager in our new Herne Bay shop.
Are you self motivated with strong interpersonal skills and thrive on challenges and opportunities that come with assisting in the running of a shop? Can you assist the Shop Manager in driving sales and profits and able to work closely with staff and Volunteers to ensure we deliver the best level of customer service, come and join us from the beginning in opening our new Herne bay shop!
We are looking for someone who loves working with people and has the ability to lead in the absence of the Shop Manager, inspire and empower people around them. We are looking for someone who is friendly and positive in their approach and can instil an energy to those around them. Have you got a creative ability that you can bring to the role?

This Assistant Shop Manager role involves working 2 days over 7 working directly with the Cluster Manager and the team of incredible volunteers.
Each of our shops has its own unique style and you will be responsible for maintaining our high quality reputation within the local area. Not only will your work be helping to reduce vast amounts of waste going to landfill, but you’ll also be ensuring that we have the resources to continue providing expert care to those that need it most.
What will I be doing?
- Maximising sales and profits for the shops
- Maintaining and promoting the highest standard of customer care
- Creating eye-catching displays and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shop
- Recruiting, supervising and training volunteers to assist in the running of the shop
- Meeting gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods

We are looking for a dedicated Sessional Shop Assistant to cover our Norfolk and Suffolk shops , to ensure that the shops stay open full trading hours in the absence of the Shop Manager or the Assistant Shop Manager. You will also be driving productivity and leading on key shop tasks, like shop displays and working the Till.
We are looking for someone who has ideally worked in the Retail environment before and can bring new ideas to the table, who has the means to travel to our 8 shops in Norfolk and Suffolk.
You will be working closely with the Shop Managers and Assistant Shop Managers to make the shops a success, and build links in the local community. You will need to be confident at working with people from different backgrounds creating a welcoming and positive experience for all of our staff, volunteers and supporters.
