Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Coordinator to join our team base in Oxford. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis working 21 hours per week over 5 days. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 circa per annum.

In addition to a competitive salary, RABI also offers 28 days of annual leave, 10% pension contribution on successful completion of probation, access to learning & development and an employee assistance scheme

Please note that there is flexibility to work from home up to a couple of days per week, but this is an office-based role.

RABI has been supporting farming people throughout England and Wales for many generations. Providing practical guidance and proactive support to everyone within the agricultural community, RABI has a network of locally based teams who understand the challenges farming people face. The charity’s range of services cover four areas:

- Help at a critical time
- Mental wellbeing
- Support for living independently
- Training and upskilling

It is an exciting time to join the charity as it implements a 5-year strategy which aims to quadruple support to farming people by 2024. At the heart of this ambitious objective, is an aspiration to deliver a holistic, flexible approach to services that promotes early intervention and farmer wellbeing.
 

The Communications Coordinator role:

This is a new post which will play a crucial role in upholding our brand image and raising our profile. The Communications Coordinator will be the first point of contact between the Charity’s external Communications, PR and Marketing agency, and the internal team at RABI. In doing this, the post-holder will ensure all communications activity at the charity is tracked, agreed, monitored, and reported.

What you will be doing as our Communications Coordinator:

- Work closely to track and monitor all internal and external communications activity of RABI
- Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns - Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency, ensuring all staff understand the brand guidelines and offering support where needed

- Spearheading internal communications and managing the organisations intranet
- Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications campaigns
- Budget management, holding both the external agency and internal teams accountable to keeping within the allocated campaign budgets
- Coordinate meetings, press conferences, promotional events, and presentations
- Ensure wider team are updated on industry news, projects, events, campaign activities and team updates
- Coordinate the production of promotional items in adherence to brand guidelines

Key skills and experience we are looking for in our Communications Coordinator:

- Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills
- An analytical mind and ability to think critically
- Project management experience
- Ability to provide professional communications support to staff teams
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with ease to senior management, volunteers, agency representatives and the general public
- Ability to understand and adapt organisational ‘tone of voice’
- Excellent team player, able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritise work, and be able to respond to tight deadlines, working both on an individual basis and as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence

Desirable:

- Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector
- Farming background or knowledge of the farming community environment
