The Youth and Community Programmes team are looking for a Community Programmes Lead worker to support a broad range of activities aimed mainly at young people and over 50’s. Activities are delivered mainly over evenings and weekends aimed at making our community an inspirational place.
You will lead on session delivery and support the planning of programmes. You will manage and coordinate sessional workers, volunteers and workshop leaders working in sessions.

Outreach Support Worker
We have an exciting opportunity for an Outreach Support Worker to help young people adjust from adolescence to adulthood.

Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time positions) depending on experience and qualifications plus £1200 per annum essential car user allowance.

About the role:
As an Outreach Worker, your role will be to assist your allocated young people in tasks that will enable them to live independently. This support will involve advice, general help and moral support, financial assistance (advice about bill payments etc) and working with young people on completion of education awards (AQA). You will be expected to work with multiple agencies to deliver holistic packages of support.
This role includes travelling to various locations to carry out support sessions with young people.
You will be expected to provide key work sessions for young people as per their placement agreement. These sessions are to be structured so that the young person can be assisted in accessing local resources, budgeting, and assisting them with gaining appropriate life skills. Using outcomes stars as a tool and completing the progress on the interactive website.
You will be expected to keep a diary of all contact with each young person and professional and to complete Outcomes Star reports on the young person which are sent to placing workers. These reports contain information about the young person and the work that has been completed with them. It highlights areas of need to help to focus key work.
It will be necessary to attend meetings such as child protection conferences, review meetings and other meetings that are deemed necessary in providing the high-quality service that is expected by local authorities and stakeholders and to ensure service delivery meets young people’s needs. You will be offered support if required when attending these meetings.

- Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours, maintenance of professional boundaries and ability to maintain positive working relationships.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours or a good understanding of the sector.
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
- Ability to manage own caseload and determine priorities with time management. Able to use own initiative
- Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice and mental health
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system
What we would like, but not essential:
- Experience working with different agencies/organisations and understanding the multi-disciplinary approach (For example working alongside MAPPA)
- Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Community Justice/Psychology or professional equivalent

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.
Crisis Skylight Croydon offers IAG, 1-1 coaching and practical support to people who are experiencing homelessness in Croydon and the neighbouring boroughs. We work with several partner agencies including the Homeless Health Team, mental health services and substance misuse services to ensure that our members have access to support needed to end their homelessness for good. We have now received funding from NHS Southwest London to deliver a health advocacy service in Croydon for 12 months.

About the role
As Health Advocacy Worker , you will provide high-quality support to people experiencing homelessness in Croydon. You will support Skylight members as well as residents of local supported and temporary accommodation to register with the appropriate health services and attend health appointments. You will regularly visit local hostels and accompany your clients to their health appointments.
You will hold sensitive conversations about health needs, reasons why someone might have struggled to access health services in the past and what concerns they may currently have. You will provide IAG, support and encouragement to help build your clients’ confidence so that they continue accessing health services independently in the future when your support comes to an end.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the challenges that people who experience homelessness might face when trying to access health services. You have experience supporting people with multiple needs including mental health, physical health and substance misuse difficulties, a history of multiple exclusion and social isolation. You are confident working independently in the community and are willing and able to travel to meet your clients and potential clients around Croydon.

Prospectus is pleased to be working with a small and locally focused homelessness charity, supporting individuals and households that are facing housing issues across Enfield and Haringey. Delivering services to rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, their mission is to break cycles of poverty and disadvantage and tackle the issue of homelessness. They are now seeking a Lead Support Worker to join their team on FTC basis, initially until October 2024.
In 2021, the charity opened a day centre, set up to meet the needs of those rough sleeping and on the cusp of homelessness in the borough, to provide daytime respite and independent housing related support. Since then, they have continued to deliver a night shelter provision to rough sleeping clients which is open and accessible 24 hours a day.
In this role, you will lead their single occupancy night shelter provision as well as support the Day centre. The role will involve processing referrals into the project, undertaking initial assessments, conducting in-depth housing-related casework, and working effectively internally and with external partners to ensure clients are able to access the variety of support they need. You will also support service users from the Day Centre, supporting them with accessing services, attending appointments and general housing and homelessness related support.
Due to the nature of the role, you will have experience in building relationships and supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged, or excluded client groups, as well as dealing with challenging behaviours within a similar setting to the homelessness sector, as well as experience of managing and developing projects. It is desirable you have knowledge of issues facing people with ‘no recourse to public funds’, Housing Legislation, and other relevant legislation for vulnerable adults and of various statutory and voluntary agencies and projects offering advice services, accommodation, outreach and primary needs provision.
The working pattern for this position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday -Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. You will spend Monday and Tuesday at the accommodation Hub and the remaining days at the Day Centre/outreach. We support our residents through a therapeutic community structure. We aim to offer an accepting framework in which human relationships can be nourished. We work from a main residential house and provide outreach services to those still left on the streets. We are looking for a person to work in the residential house and also have a regular presence on street outreach.
While and interest and feeling for homelessness issues is vital to the work, other experience of social care settings, therapeutic models and communities are also valuable.

Our Service delivers independent advice to Greenwich students, supporting them to stay and succeed at university. This role will specifically support students on our Greenwich and Avery Hill sites but you’ll also help students studying on our Medway campus, mainly.
The Students’ Union Advice Service is a professional, independent, and free service that empowers students to navigate academic regulation, and access support. The Student Adviser has a key role in providing professional advice to students 1-1 and in a group.
Looking at trend data, the role will support the team in developing insights into the needs of students studying at Greenwich.
Guided by this information, the post holder will develop new initiatives and facilitate service outreach to reduce the likelihood of issues arising in the first place.
This role sits within the Advocacy and Policy Team who focus on making 1-1 timely interventions to support students to succeed as well as identifying broader trends in student behavior to inform our strategic approach to services and support.

Purpose of Role:
As an Assessment Hub Caseworker at our confidential Newham Integrated Rough Sleeper Service, you will play a vital role in rapidly assessing service users within a 28-day assessment centre and creating suitable and sustainable Move-On Plans to resolve homelessness. Your responsibilities also include engaging with individuals leading a street-based lifestyle,' including those sleeping rough, with the objective of connecting them with the appropriate services and facilitating their transition into more stable living conditions. You'll work to increase service user choice, involvement, and empowerment, promoting sustainable change while coordinating efforts to achieve positive outcomes for each client. Additionally, you'll focus on building and strengthening service user's personal strengths and social networks, both in the UK and their country of origin.
This role demands flexibility and a proactive approach to engage with hard-to-reach service users and provide a range of effective interventions. Key activities include identifying and establishing contact with service users sleeping rough, including those initially unwilling to engage with services. You'll collaborate with drug and alcohol teams to facilitate access to treatment, work with Mental Health Agencies to address mental health issues and ensure ongoing health care access for service users. Moreover, you'll support efforts to divert newcomers to rough sleeping, encourage people to return to their home communities, and cooperate with local Housing Providers to maximise accommodation opportunities.
You'll participate in street counts when required, represent the team at external forums, and maintain accurate service user records in compliance with Change Grow Live's procedures and protocols. This role may entail working irregular hours, including unsociable hours and during severe weather conditions.

We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Deputy Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for a leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma .
The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service which spans over 3 buildings and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. You will support the Service Manager with having overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents.
