Job description

There are two roles

The two roles represent an exciting opportunity to work within the Research team. This team is the expert, externally facing driver of our research strategy, research funding, research governance and research portfolio evaluation. Both roles are broadly the same with similar job descriptions, but each role has a slightly different focus.

One role focuses on our portfolio of long-term programmes (the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre, King’s College London Research Unit and the Generations Study). This is role one.

The other role focuses on the administration of our established response-mode grant funding schemes, as well as supporting the launch and administration of new grant funding schemes. This is role two.

Both roles are diverse roles and will offer scope to develop and lead specific projects that fulfil strategic ambitions of the Research team and the wider Directorate.

In both roles, you will undertake peer review of grant applications, and oversee funding committees and post-award management of grants.

About you

You will have a degree in a relevant scientific discipline with sound knowledge of scientific research. Previous experience in research management or working in a research environment would be an asset. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you will be able to develop good relationships within the organisation and with our community of researchers. Having excellent organisation skills, and an ability to work independently and manage your time effectively is essential.
