About the role
The Events Officer plays a key role in our highly effective communications team, leading on the delivery of an impactful programme of events – both online and in person. The role works with teams from across the organisation to plan, deliver and promote all types of events, including workshops, roundtables, conferences, webinars, receptions and other types of online and in person events.
Events are an important way for Ageing Better to influence priority audiences, including businesses and local and national government, and the postholder will advise teams on how events can best reach these audiences, encourage engagement and lead to lasting relationships.
This role sits within the Communications team, and the postholder will be responsible for drafting comms content, such as blogs and social media posts, particularly in relation to event promotion.
About you
You are highly organised, with excellent prioritisation and project management skills, enabling you to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. You have good attention to detail and enjoy planning, solving logistical problems and delivering events to a tight budget.
You are a good communicator and are comfortable working in close partnership with colleagues and dealing with a wide range of people.
You will have experience of organising events, including technical experience of managing online events and streaming.

The Finance Officer/Bookkeeper will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely finance administration, across two databases (currently Sage and Salesforce). Key Tasks
· Adding all payments transactions (grants, invoices, salaries, expenses, HMRC payments etc) to Sage and the bank accounts, ensuring all evidence is correct and payments are correctly authorised
· Adding all donation income to Sage and Salesforce, and working with other team members to ensure they are acknowledged appropriately
· Adding all quarterly investment income to Sage and Salesforce and reconciling across both databases, and to the investment house reports and bank account
· Regular reconciliations between Sage and Salesforce and bank accounts
· Ensure HMRC payments and gift aid claims are undertaken in a timely manner
· Manage banking records
· Monthly reconciliations for Bank account, purchase ledger, Sage, Salesforce, prepayments, accruals, salaries, PAYE, pension etc
· Monthly journals for non-cost items
· Manage pension with NEST and other ad hoc pension providers and manage insurances
· Ad hoc finance related tasks including reporting on returned grants, managing pension payments, insurances etc
· Any other appropriate tasks as directed

About the Role: This is an interesting and varied role. As the post holder you'll be not only be setting up, administering and delivering schemes and activities to benefit Barnet’s looked after young people, you'll also be creating marketing materials and supporting fundraising events. Promoting the work of our charity is key too through updating our website, writing our quarterly newsletter and social media channels, as well as supporting the running and administration of the charity.
About You:

Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare to children and adults with M.E.. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
Opportunity:
Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.
Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.
As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.

This position will be based from our Cardiff Office (agile working agreement in place).
Main Purpose: To support the efficiency of the National and Regional Offices through the provision of an efficient and effective translation and administration service including marketing and communications.The successful candidate will need two years of translation experience and an eye for detail with creative skills to support our marketing and social media.
- To translate all of the organisation’s letters, documents, newsletters, social media copy and publications into Welsh, or into English as appropriate
- To assist in the content/ maintenance of the company and project websites, social media and marketing.
- To accurately input and create reports of impact data including work completed by Childcare Business Development Officers and Training Officers, using computer programmes including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access as well as online portfolios and portals
- To contribute to the overall efficiency of the office, providing administrative skills for the office.
- To assist in the organisation of meetings and events, and taking and distributing accurate minutes of meetings as required.
Core Skills & Experience
Essential ·
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Welsh
- Translation experience or relevant qualification with the ability to translate from English to Welsh and vice versa
- Administration and marketing experience
- Excellent computer literacy skills – in using Microsoft applications such as MS Word, Access, Excel and Outlook, MS SharePoint and Teams and Zoom. Experience in using a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM), and updating websites and social media sites would be an advantage
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task
- To promote and maintain a professional image in line with organisational policy, with a professional telephone manner, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a flexible attitude that can adapt to the varying requirements of a dynamic and busy office. Discretion and confidentiality in handling personal details is also essential.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Willingness to undertake a variety of different tasks.

- Good problem solving skills
- Good keyboard speed
- Experience with design and marketing using various programmes such as
