Carers Trust Wales provides information, advice and support to Wales’ 370,000 unpaid carers and to professionals who work with carers. Together with our Network Partners, a network of local carer focused charities, we provide support, information, advice and services for children, young people and adults caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend. The number of carers is growing, with 3 in 5 of us likely to become a carer at some point in our lifetime. Unpaid carers save the Welsh economy over £8.1bn every year and act as a crucial support to our stretched health and social care systems.
We are currently looking for a Wales Office Manager to provide a full business management service to the office of Carers Trust Wales and support the work of the Director of Wales.
The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities including diary management and supporting governance processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of processes and systems to facilitate the effective running of Carers Trust Wales’ office in line with annual plans and funding requirements.
The post will sit within the Carers Trust Wales team and be managed by the Director of Wales.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to read and draft relevant information at pace along with event management experience.

You work closely with other agencies around specific needs including mental health and DV, private letting agents and landlords and/or others.
You will be helping clients to manage their tenancy including housing management, working with benefits (housing benefits, universal credits, PIP and other), budgeting and exploring options around education, training and employment. You will write support plans and assess risk, and will be engaging with other professionals, working towards moving your clients on from temporary accommodation.
This can be a challenging role at times as you will be working with clients who have a range of difficult and challenging issues / behaviours but if you are motivated to make a positive contribution to the lives of our clients and have a “can do” approach to your work, it is an incredibly rewarding role. Experience in a similar role would be great, but it is more important to have a passion for helping people in the local community.

One Million Mentors is looking to hire a full time Technical Lead to ensure the smooth running of its technology infrastructure. The Technical Delivery Lead will be the product owner for all technology features at 1MM and has end-to-end accountability for 1MM’s technology requirements and delivery, overseeing the design of the 1MM technology roadmap, incl. product design and vendor strategy to design fit for purpose delivery capabilities as well as overseeing its delivery. They manage delivery of technology capabilities through their own technical ability, management of outsourced vendors and direct resources as they become available. About One Million Mentors:
One Million Mentor's (1MM) is an exciting startup within a larger charity called Uprising Leadership. Its mission is to transform the process of mentoring for all in the UK. We aim to train, recruit and connect a million mentors to a million young people in order to increase youth employability, support social action and help break down social barriers.
1MM has now developed a new safe and secure virtual mentoring offer for both mentors and mentees (aged 18 to 25 years old) which includes; sign up onto the platform, completing a profile, undertaking mandatory online mentoring training, attending a mandatory online workshop facilitated by experts, matched digitally and then meeting for one hour once a month via video conferencing. 1MM also provides ongoing online support to mentors and mentees by delivering relevant employment/careers and wellbeing related workshops on a monthly basis. Pre - pandemic mentoring took place face to face for one hour, once a month for up to a year on the site of youth partners. We have established 2,000 mentoring relationships partnering with over 200 employers and 100 youth partners.
The Role:
As Technical Lead, you will manage the delivery of technology capabilities through your own technical ability, manage outsourced vendors and direct resources as they become available. The Technical Lead will also monitor satisfaction, ensure on-time delivery, minimise outages and measure against defined targets. In 12 months’ time, you will provide the technology platform to allow for a secure and safe offering for young people to benefit from mentoring according to 1MM’s delivery model

The Role
With a strong focus on patient engagement and insight gathering and proven experience scaling patient support services and amplifying patient voice, the Programme Lead will work collaboratively and at pace to set up a new programme which will;
- Continue to develop and deliver support services in Wales for bowel cancer patients and their loved ones.
- Be an increasingly strong voice for bowel cancer patients.
- Enhance the education, engagement and support offer to healthcare professionals to improve early diagnosis, including the expansion of community pharmacy work launched in phase 1.
- Continue to raise awareness of bowel screening, the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer through a programme of volunteer-led awareness work in the community.
Main responsibilities include:
- Identify, engage with and develop relationships with key external stakeholders
- Build, train and manage a cohort of volunteers
- Engage with and develop relationships with community pharmacists
- Lead the development, launch and delivery of a patient engagement strategy
- Co-ordinate and deliver our existing and new digital peer support service
- Collect and analyse evaluation and monitoring data
- Recruit and line manage a services officer to deliver all strands of this activity
About You
As Programme Lead, you will have an understanding of the needs of people affected by bowel cancer, their lived experience and proven experience of working with vulnerable service users. The ability to work under pressure with excellent organisational and project management skills, along with an understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection in relation to dealing with vulnerable groups, will enable you to work to a high standard in this role.
You will have experience of:
- Working with, managing and supporting volunteers and line management of staff
- Developing patient engagement and insight activity
