We’re looking for a highly motivated communications professional who is passionate about supporting the growth of FoodCycle and working to help people understand the many benefits of community dining.

We’ve grown a lot over the last 15 years and our weekly community meals now run in more than 85 towns and cities across England and Wales. This role is vitally important in supporting our growth - we have plans to reach 100 Community Meal Projects by the end of this year as well as launching new initiatives that will help us support more families and children. 

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to develop campaigns and plans that will get as many people as possible talking about FoodCycle’s work, enhance our visibility and become the leaders in delivering and promoting community dining. 

You will have experience working within media or PR, with a track record of securing high quality media coverage. You will have knowledge of the media landscape, and the ability to craft a press release, pitch a story, work with case studies, and write blog posts.

You’ll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across Wales. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people in local communities affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with volunteers and colleagues in the wider Wales team to do focussed campaigning and advocacy work. 

Through co-production you’ll ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard by decision makers.

What you’ll do:

• Support the development and delivery of campaigns activity for Wales and proactively identify opportunities for public-facing campaigns.

• Recruit and manage a sustainable community of campaign volunteers.

• Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity.

• Organise and deliver training events for people with lived experience who wish to engage as well as campaign volunteers.

• Create content for public facing elements of campaigns, including supporter actions, web pages, newsletter and social media.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to network and build supportive relationships with volunteers, MSs/MPs and health bodies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• To work with coalition members and partners to co-create and build campaigns that are packed with engaging content and compelling actions that mobilise the public at scale

• To facilitate the rollout of coalition-wide campaigns, developing and sharing campaign resources and communications materials 

• To manage the use of storytelling in our campaigning, harvesting and cataloguing stories of collective action

• Managing the creation of content (such as such as video, animation, images for social media and interactive content) which makes the case for systems change

• To support innovation in campaigning and communications across the coalition through the convening of an action-learning process 

• Oversee TCC’s owned communications channels, working closely with colleagues in the Secretariat team to manage the delivery of communications activity

As the Digital Campaign Manager you will use your skills to build and lead projects and creative digital-first campaigns to support Syria’s heroic civil society. You will be responsible for delivering campaigns that advance The Syria Campaign’s goals and mission, working with allies and partners to elevate their voices and demands to a global audience. You will get to work with our incredible supporters and encourage others to act by employing the full suite of digital campaigning tactics to bring about real change.

You will be responsible for creating impactful online campaign actions from petitions to “email your MP” moments, running an email programme to engage our large online supporter base (from idea generation to writing, delivery and analysis), producing creative social media campaigns, and responding to real world events. You will reach new supporters and key audiences through growth-oriented digital campaigns. 

This is a full-time position that reports to the Campaign Director. The job is remote and can be done anywhere from European or Middle Eastern time zones.

The Syria Campaign

The Syria Campaign is a small, fast moving, and powerful human rights organisation that is building new ways for digital and creative communications to have impact. We work to support Syria’s heroes in the struggle for freedom and democracy, partnering with civil society actors inside and outside the country. We’ve moved beyond the limitations of an “online movement builder” or traditional NGO, fusing the best elements of think tanks, creative agencies, and digital mobilisation to shift the narrative on Syria.

Thirteen years since the Syrian people took to the streets to demand freedom and democracy, there are still millions of civilians at risk of military attack, over 100,000 people remain illegally detained and disappeared, and there has been nearly no accountability for the victims and survivors of war crimes. The Syria Campaign works to keep Syria in the international spotlight to increase the cost of attacks on civilians, help build the power of civil society, advocate for a vision of real peace and justice, and build international solidarity with the Syrian people.

We’ve raised the profile of Syrian groups such as the White Helmets rescue workers, helping secure them millions of dollars to continue their life-saving work and making them famous around the world. We’ve supported the Families for Freedom, a women-led movement of the families of the disappeared in Syria, to ensure their demands are heard. We work with dozens of partners across Syria who trust us deeply. Syria is full of heroes and we’re privileged enough to work with them. After 13 years of conflict and crisis in Syria, we have to fight hard to make sure the issues that matter to us and our partners get the focus and support they need. We refuse to let Syria disappear from the attention of the world, and we will work until we see justice served. The Digital Campaign Manager will play a key role as The Syria Campaign develops new strategies and approaches to achieve our goals.

What you’ll be responsible for

Developing and leading far-reaching digital campaigns with our Syrian partners to make their demands heard on the international stage, that capitalise on reactive campaign moments. You will be campaigning for freedom and justice for Syria’s disappeared, for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers from the bombs, and for support for educators, media activists and other heroic civil society actors on the ground in Syria. 

Creating high-quality digital campaign content. You will work closely with our small and talented campaign team to write amazing copy across a range of campaign materials, including through supporter emails, advocacy briefs, blogs, and microsites. You will lead on digital advocacy opportunities to mobilise our supporters to take action in solidarity with the demands of our Syrian partners through petitions, fundraisers and other actions. Working closely with the media team you will push forwards creative visuals for social media including graphics, videos and commentary, including commissioning and managing creatives. 

Leading our campaign email programme. You will manage our supporter email programme in collaboration with designers and developers. This includes devising and drafting regular multilingual campaign emails to keep our large supporter base engaged, testing out best practices to grow and maintain those who support us, and analysing our success. You will also build action pages, run fundraisers for our Syrian partners, and manage Facebook ads.

Organising and coordinating events and actions, amplified online. You will manage events and actions that influence politicians and decision makers to meet the demands of our Syrian civil society partners – making sure they have maximum impact and reach our global audience.

Qualifications

Essential skills:

Campaign strategy:

• At least 4 years experience mobilising targeted, highly creative digital campaigns for change in a charity, non-profit, campaigns, marketing or political environment

• An excellent track record within advocacy, storytelling, digital mobilisation, or content creation

• Understanding international media, advocacy, public campaigning and current trends in social media

• Commitment to a free and democratic future for Syria, global justice and human rights 

• Sensitivity in working with partners including survivors of human rights atrocities and families of victims

• Commitment to fostering a feminist organisation and promoting feminist campaigns

Copywriting and storytelling:

• Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills in English. Experience of devising high-performing campaign emails, social media content, blogs, microsites and other communications that compel supporters and decision makers to take action.

• Experience writing high-level advocacy communications to a range of stakeholders.

Digital skills and social media:

• Experience managing an email list of more than 10,000 supporters and running a campaign email programme, including analytics to boost growth, engagement, and fundraising. Experience of designing and analysing A/B tests e.g. subject line tests.

• Experience building email campaigns and action pages on Action Kit (preferred) or a similar campaign CMS (Content Management System) platform, and basic HTML skills.

• Skilled at drafting high-performing social media content for a public-facing organisation and an understanding of the different social media platforms. 

• Experience of placing effective Facebook and/or Google Ads.

• Some design experience e.g. using Canva to make social posts.

• Experience using digital tools such as WordPress

Team work:

• Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds

• Flexibility to work on a remote team across multiple time zones. This requires the ability both to work independently and to collaborate virtually

The deal

The Syria Campaign is committed to making sure everyone on the team is happy, productive, and motivated. Here’s how we do that:

A salary of £40,000 - £50,000, in line with international organisations. The role is a full-time position, although 4 days can be considered.

The job is remote and can be done anywhere in Middle Eastern or European time zones. We have team members in Berlin, London, Rabat, New York, Marseille and Leipzig, and provide you with a space in a co-working office wherever you are based. We have full staff retreats every year to keep us connected.

North Bristol & South Gloucestershire (NBSG) Foodbank has operated for 12 years, providing emergency food parcels to people in crisis in the local community. Recently, we have shifted our focus to go beyond food and try to tackle the root causes of food insecurity. One goal of our new strategy is to change minds, change policy and create empathy about poverty. The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for working towards this goal by delivering the Trussell Trust’s (TT) influencing and mobilising work during the General Election (GE). You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area. Campaign Coordinators implement TT’s national GE strategy, by using Organising techniques to put pressure on Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) in each Combined Local Authority.

You will lead local community teams of people who support ending the need for food banks, to secure commitments from your PPCs to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’

This role is funded by TT as part of their GE strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will serve as the link between NBSG Foodbank and the Mobilisation team at TT, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

As a Network Coordinator, you will help bring together groups, organisations and other stakeholders to drive forward campaigns to end north sea oil and gas extraction and secure a just transition for workers and communities. You will play a key role in strengthening the movement, through helping to convene highly impactful campaigning coalitions and networks, seeding and supporting campaign interventions and offering expert support & advice. 

About us

Uplift uses research, campaigning, and advocacy to support a just transition away from fossil fuels in the UK on a timeline that is commensurate with a safe climate. We are looking for a Network Coordinator to help drive forward our network building and public campaigning activities across Scotland, and the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join Uplift at a critical time ahead of a general election and help strengthen the movement away from oil and gas in the UK and towards a just transition for workers and communities.

The role

If you’re passionate about climate justice, especially holding the UK government to account and have a coalition and movement mindset - valuing the importance of movement coordination and generosity, then this role could be perfect for you. You will need a strong understanding of the movement ecology in the UK, especially in Scotland, and understand the unique role different actors play in bringing about change.

Based in Scotland and with a good understanding of the Scottish movement ecology, you will be able to map and bring together groups, organisations, stakeholder and constituents to campaign on fossil fuels. You will strengthen partnerships and scope new allies whilst helping to drive forward campaigning interventions and mobilising groups around key moments throughout 2024 and beyond. You will work closely with key campaigning organisations in Scotland and internally with Uplifts Campaigns and Movement Building team to support network building activities across the UK.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, groups and organisations, across Scotland, and the rest of the UK, including with key allies campaigning to end oil and gas extraction.
• Coordinate network building and coalition activities to help strengthen the network of groups organising around a phase out of fossil fuels in the UK.
• Provide campaigning support and advice to groups wanting to take action on north sea oil and gas expansion and a just transition.
• Develop campaign resources and network communications in collaboration with key partners and networks.
• Help design and deliver mobilisations and actions across Scotland and support the execution of campaign strategies and interventions in collaboration with partners.
• Be the first point of contact for groups and organisations in Scotland - holding the central coordination function for Uplift. 
• Facilitate spaces for groups to come together and coordinate timely and effective communications with groups.
• Work with the Campaigns and Movement Building team to help strengthen the networks of groups taking action on fossil fuel campaigns across the UK - particularly during nationwide mobilisations or campaign moments. 
• Be an active member of the Campaigns and Movement building team - participating in and helping to shape campaign and network strategies whilst contributing to a healthy team and organisational culture.
• Represent Uplift externally at events, coalition meetings and network gatherings. Carry out media spokesperson activities where appropriate.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have: 

• Experience in a similar or related role.
• Be based in Scotland and have a good working knowledge of the wider movement ecology in Scotland.
• A track record of guiding and supporting effective campaigning coalitions.
• A good understanding of campaign strategy and an ability to know when to apply a range of tactics based on target, audience and the campaign cycle.
• Previous experience of movement building, including an understanding of the principles of mobilising and organising and an appreciation of the role different actors (the grassroots, NGOs, unions etc) play in social change.
• A strong commitment to Uplift’s mission and core values of equity and climate justice.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong, trusting relationships with a variety of groups and organisations, as well as with colleagues (through written communications, online calls and in-person gatherings).
• Highly motivated, collaborative and organised - able to coordinate fast paced campaigns across multiple networks.

Who are Women’s Aid?   

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.    

Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:   

As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for Women’s Aid communications – including major campaign moments and brand awareness. Working across all external channels, including traditional media and social media, you will curate compelling stories that build our profile and target key audiences in our mission to keep women and children safe from domestic abuse. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we mark our 50th Birthday with some powerful campaigns and engagement. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer: 

• To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

• To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required. 

• To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects. 

• To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices. 

• To work with a diverse range of survivor case studies and media spokespeople, including Women’s Aid member organisations, and to ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.

• To help identify both proactive and reactive media opportunities. 

• To write blogs, news articles and promotional copy for Women’s Aid.

• To proof and typeset publications as required.

• To be part of the communications team out-of-hours on call rota for media calls.

What we are looking for in our Senior Communications Officer: 

• At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar. 

• Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally. 

• Experience of maintaining systems for information storage and retrieval.

• Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems. 

• Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders. 

• Experience in getting effective PR results. 

• Ability to produce high quality written material, for copy writing, copy editing and publicity materials, posters and press releases. 

• Capable of translating complex information into audience-friendly messages. 

• Ability to carry out a range of research and information-gathering activities. 

• IT skills, including accurate data inputting skills, ability to use Microsoft programmes, understanding of Content Management Systems and troubleshooting simple website problems,  and willingness to learn new packages and IT skills as required.

We’re looking for someone with excellent bilingual communication skills (Welsh and English) with great news sense, demonstrated through utilising  bilingual media outlets in Wales, and a sound knowledge of Wales and UK media.

About the role 

You’ll co-develop and implement an inclusive bilingual media and communications programme across traditional, digital and social media and maximise our messaging and campaigning impact in Wales through powerful communications. 

You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.

What you’ll do:

• Manage, monitor and report on the bilingual web pages and Facebook page for Wales

• Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

• Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

• Provide Welsh language media interviews

• Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of interviewing and case study collection within sensitive topics 

• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, the media and stakeholders in Wales

• Ability to work co-productively with people affected by Parkinson’s

• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and enable others to meet challenging deadlines

About the role

As CEO, you'll support us through a new stage in our development. We're operating in a fluid political environment and so our new leader needs to be confident to work in a political setting while also having the skills and experience to run an organisation like ours.

You'll take ultimate responsibility for our campaign to achieve Proportional Representation in the House of Commons. You will:

• as leader of the campaign, be primarily responsible for building the popular and political momentum needed to secure this seismic reform;
• as leader of the organisation, be primarily responsible for defining and executing MVM’s strategy, while ensuring its good financial health and legal and regulatory compliance; and
• as leader to our staff and volunteer team, be primarily responsible for providing clarity of direction while ensuring the organisation maintains a collaborative, empowering and inspiring culture.

You will:

• lead the UK campaign for Proportional Representation;
• ensure MVM has a clear external brand, with consistent messages, effective and emotive arguments, and impactful use of evidence;
• be a spokesperson for the organisation on a variety of public platforms including national media and at key MVM events;
• create and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders;
• lead on development of MVM's post-election strategic plan;
• line manage and delegate responsibilities to staff, as appropriate;
• take ultimate responsibility for the good governance of MVM, including but not limited to the organisation’s financial health, legal compliance, and good standing with regulatory bodies;
• with support of relevant MVM staff, to ensure that the Board is supported in performing its governance role;

About you

The role

Our services are growing. We are looking for locally based sessional facilitators to support the delivery of our Moving Forward courses across the UK. Our Moving Forward courses are for anyone with a primary breast cancer diagnosis who has finished their hospital-based treatment. Courses are a combination of face to face and online support and are delivered in partnership with local NHS Trusts/Boards. The number of courses can vary across locations but will typically be between 2 - 4 courses a year. 

This is offered as a contract for services position and as such the appointed contractor would not be an employee of Breast Cancer Now but a self-employed individual. We require all contractors to adhere to and follow Breast Cancer Now applicable policies and procedures and to undertake some mandatory training in core subjects such as data protection and cyber security. A satisfactory criminal record check will be required.

 About you

You will be based locally to one of the available locations with a strong background in group facilitation and course delivery. You will also have excellent organisation and time-management skills, superb oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask. You will work independently across a geographical area, supported by the regional services team and our local volunteers.

You will be required to have access to your own IT equipment.

Pay: We offer flat fees for work undertaken delivering our services as listed below:

· £25 per hour when facilitating a course (course duration will vary depending on location).

· Additional fees for attending training and update meetings. We do not pay for travel time, unless asked to travel         outside of geographical area.

Main Purpose of the Post

This post will play a key role in ensuring that Women's Aid continues to be recognised and respected for the survivor-centred expert voice on domestic abuse, with a particular lead on amplifying the voices of our member services. In particular, the post holder will be responsible for delivering an organisation-wide local influencing strategy and lead on other areas of strategic policy focus.

The post holder will work closely with the Policy and Membership teams to ensure that Women’s Aid responds effectively to the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, the Health and Social Care Act, and Victim and Prisoners Bill. The role will be responsible for building sustainable relationships and influence with key local stakeholders across England, including local authorities, commissioners, and Women’s Aid member services.

You will: provide line management to the Policy & Practice part of the Policy team; ensure that the public, stakeholders, Women’s Aid’s member services and staff are supported with policy expertise on a range of areas; champion best commissioning practice; coordinate policy responses to government and other agencies; and work with senior leaders across the organisation to ensure that Women’s Aid and its members are equipped to seize key policy opportunities. The post holder will seek to ensure that Women’s Aid has a robust local network across England and a long-term strategy for influence.
