BACKGROUND
Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons. Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.

JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Campaigns Team develops strategy, creates plans and manages campaigns on issues and policy to influence key stakeholders and build public support to create systemic change and eliminate child hunger for good.
We are looking for a Campaigns Officer to join our small team to support the Campaigns Manager design, deliver and evaluate integrated and impactful campaigns in support of Magic Breakfast’s policy and advocacy objectives, including the designing, resourcing and creation of meaningful actions to communicate key messages to decision-makers, the media, supporters and the public.
You will be joining our campaigning work at a crucial point as we aim to grow our campaigner base, mobilise more people and carry out strategic campaigns within the context of an approaching general election and beyond with the new government. The role will work closely with colleagues across the Department and organisation to increase the impact of our advocacy messages and campaigns.

The Individual Giving Officer will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Engagement and the Head of Fundraising to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, in particular our Individual Giving income. The post holder will be responsible for growing our cash and regular donor income through both acquisition and retention activities, including through our flagship Dry January® campaign.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Campaign project management:

Plan, manage and deliver innovative and impactful supporter campaigns across a range of channels.

Supporter Care:

Work with the Fundraising & Engagement Assistant to ensure excellent levels of supporter care is provided to all our individual giving donors. Including the reviewing and refining of existing processes.

Oversee the maintenance of our individual supporter data within our CRM
Reporting and analysis:

Closely monitor campaign results and provide updates on performance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising

Coordinating ACUK’s CRM system (ThankQ) and ensuring data accuracy including:
- New donor details, communications with supporters, gift aid and consent purposes
- Championing data cleansing and monthly de-duping of contacts

Coordinating all general fundraising enquiries including phone calls, fundraising & engagement email inboxes (providing holiday cover for the training & consultancy inbox) and post.

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from our volunteers (Community Champions) and, alongside the Fundraising & Engagement Manager, steward our volunteers including the coordination of volunteer activities.

About the role
The postholder will have a unique opportunity to lead delivery of our communications strategy, supporting the delivery of our organisational objectives and ensuring we maximise our 20th anniversary year to raise IHP’s profile and grow our community.

Job Purpose
The Campaigns Director will work to ensure that we meet our UK campaign goals for Marine Protected Areas, Sustainable Fisheries, and Offshore Oil and Gas. The position will be based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Reporting to the Executive Director, and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will inspire and help to equip your colleagues with the tools, knowledge, and approach to be effective changemakers. Candidate Requirements
Education and work experience:
Ø At least 7 years of professional experience in campaigning, ideally in oceans or the environment.
Ø Experience operating as part of a Leadership Team in a similar organisation.

Ø Experience leading and developing campaign strategic plans and annual detailed plans and budgets.
Ø Experience working closely and collaboratively with policy and communications colleagues.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Campaigns Officer (Volunteer Management). In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the stewardship of the charity's volunteer Campaigns Ambassadors to support the organisations campaigns, engagement and influencing work to achieve better outcomes for people, patients and professionals.
This role is crucial in helping to deliver a strategy to grow and develop an effective Campaigns Ambassadors programme where Ambassadors are deeply engaged with our campaigns.
What will I be doing?
Working in partnership with other Campaigns Officers in the team to develop and deliver the stewardship strategy for campaigners across the full volunteer life cycle
Maintaining the volunteer management processes of the team, including communications to Ambassadors and managing the logistics and content for campaign events
Contributing to the ongoing strategic development of the Ambassador programme and making suggestions for future improvements
Contributing to, or leading, team wide projects to inform and improve the work of the Ambassador and Campaigns team
Drafting communications for, and engaging with, both Campaigns Ambassadors and the rest of the charity to showcase the impact of the programme
Liaising with key teams and stakeholders to improve the Ambassador experience, increase volunteer numbers and internally promote the Ambassador programme and demonstrate its impact
Contributing to the wider work of the Ambassador and Campaigns team and to support the work of the Campaigns Manager.

As the right candidate for this role, you will have leadership and influencing skills within a range of audiences, strong verbal and written communication skills to include digital content and be able to work as part of a collaborative communications team. The Supporter Engagement Officer plays a key role in the development and implementation of Mary’s Meals UK’s fundraising activities, to secure increased support and funding for the organisation’s overseas school feeding programmes.

- Act as an ambassador for Mary’s Meals, representing the organisation at public engagements and supporter events – and, where necessary, delivering speeches or presentations to a wide range of audiences.
- Collaborate and work closely with the Major Giving and Partnerships Team to maximise opportunities with corporate partners in East London and Essex.
- Work closely with the communications team to promote fundraising stories and events and provide input into creative and engaging fundraising resources and educational materials.
- Research, analyse and present data which informs decision-making with Head of Supporter Engagement and other senior managers.

Some of the key responsibilities:
- Leading on strategically planned engagement and growth across all our communications audiences, channels and initiatives. Including defined communications moments, brand engagement, UK advocacy communications and cross departmental campaigns.

You will be:
- Strategic, with experience of designing and delivering communications strategies across a wide portfolio

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal College of Physicians at a crucial time. The RCP is a patient centred and clinically led organisation in the health sector and is the oldest medical royal college representing hospital doctors.
The public affairs and campaigns adviser supports the development of the RCP’s influence and networks, particularly in government and Parliament, identifying opportunities to involve RCP fellows and members in our influencing work.
Working closely with the public affairs manager, you will help support our public affairs and policy work, proactively identifying opportunities to ensure the organisation is influencing the health agenda effectively on a range of topics including the NHS workforce, health inequality, sustainability and climate change and clinical research.
You will be as comfortable speaking to parliamentarians and other stakeholders as you are writing consultation submissions and briefings. You will understand and be able to engage with the detail of legislation, while appreciating the bigger picture and our place in it. You will have experience of carefully analysing the external environment to spot opportunities to raise the profile of our policy priorities.

Purpose and scope

- Helping the RCP meet its objectives by contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to engage with and influence decision makers.
