Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The Men’s Minds Project Coordinator will work closely with the members in shaping the service and ensuring voices of men in Hounslow are heard and acted upon. This service will be staffed with 1 part-time (25hrs per week) Project Coordinator and a pool of peer led volunteers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the volunteers.

The Role

The role of the Men’s Minds Project Coordinator is to arrange and coordinate a range of psychoeducation, and peer-led workshops which will be delivered weekly. With the addition of attending various community and stakeholder events to deliver the outreach strand of the service.

The role will require hybrid and flexible working: onsite for all the peer/psychoeducation sessions but the with expectation to be attending various community events and services to promote the service.

• Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress
• Experience of raising awareness and participation in outreach events

PVD is a serious condition which can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting and light-headedness. It can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised, or well-understood.

We bring together an international network of professionals to improve clinical care, education and PVD research. The role

This role sits in our people team, supporting the charity by providing a professional, comprehensive and proactive recruitment service. Haringey Migrant Support Centre is a community-based organisation, with over a decade of experience supporting migrants in Haringey and neighbouring boroughs.  We provide free and professional advice, casework, referrals and signposting on issues relating to immigration, housing and welfare. The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

About You:

To be successful as the MARAC Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC.

Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation

A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and anti-discriminatory practice, safe practice and health and safety procedures

Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals

A clear understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic violence and abuse, how it relates to MARAC in particular, and experience of the purpose and workings of MARAC 

Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through review of individual and team practice

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; including report writing, data collection and monitoring

Good understanding of managing a project

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The Opportunity

This role sits within our Evaluation unit in our Impact Partnerships team, who work with education organisations such as charities, universities and education technology companies (our ‘impact partners’). Our work focuses on helping these organisations to design and deliver evaluations, and to build their capacity for impact evaluation.

We are looking for a candidate who can support the team internally with a variety of delivery and administrative processes, working directly with our schools and partners to support their evaluation journey. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

Service delivery

• Ensure that all aspects of Rahab’s project activities are planned, organized and undertaken to fulfil their objectives within their required timelines.

• Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation, plans, reports, and other project-related documents to monitor and track overall progress, outputs and achievement of milestones.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate project risks, delays and issues to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress with team members and task as required. 

• Contribute to the development of funding applications in coordination with Rahab’s Fundraiser. 

• Support Rahab team with volunteer recruitment and training. 

• Undertake project tasks as required including supporting the team with outreach when necessary. 

• Provide administrative support such as minuting weekly team update meetings and setting up relevant meetings with external organisations.

Service development

Priority stakeholder relationships 

• Participate in and contribute to collaborative working arrangements, alongside Rahab Manager, in key stakeholder work - SI MARAC (Sex Industry Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) - with Local Authority, Metropolitan Police and Voluntary and Community sector.

• Participation at monthly SI MARAC meetings, ensuring that the work of the group is effectively joined up with wider groups and meetings focussed on addressing risk and harm.

• Support Rahab’s Senior Caseworker where necessary to ensure SI MARAC outcomes are effectively linked up with Rahab's outreach activities, and work-with Rahab’s Project Manager to ensure team members are kept informed about SI MARAC developments. 

• Work with the team to identify and engage in new professional relationships with key organisations across different sectors, and maintain our existing networks of contacts, to (i) develop and expand Rahab’s activities and reach, and (ii) foster collaboration. 

• Represent Rahab in multi-agency working groups, meetings, and forums, sharing knowledge and learning, publicising services available and how to access support. 

Beneficiary co-production 

• Work with Manager to start developing a framework and mechanism for gathering feedback from beneficiaries to evaluate the support they are receiving. 

• Work with the team to identify opportunities for our beneficiaries’ active participation in the project in ways that are safe and empowering. 

Shared learning 

• Participate in team development and learning in relation to best practice interventions and our casework delivery for beneficiaries. 
   

Continued professional development 

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and best practice.

Variation clause
