The Role
Our Practitioner Led Assessment Service is the entry point for our beneficiaries seeking support from the Charity. Our Assessment Practitioners work in partnership with our beneficiaries to identify goals, individual needs and appropriate solutions.

The team provide advice, information and support and work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to ensure our beneficiaries are offered the right support at the right time.

Reporting into the Beneficiary Experience and Continuity Lead you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the practitioner led assessment service, holding a small case load and reviewing and resolving complex cases with the team. 

You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across health improvement and rehabilitation services, to ensure services are integrated, person centred, outcome focused and based on an ethos of recovery.

About You
An excellent communicator, with a can-do-attitude, you will be a registered health or social care practitioner with a broad skill and knowledge base and will be experienced in managing a multi-professional team.

To be successful, you will:

• Be a registered health or social care practitioner, with membership of a relevant professional body
• Have experience of managing a multi-professional team within a health or social care setting
• Have experience of conducting telephone assessments (health and wellbeing), service user risk assessments and delivering advice and information to improve health and wellbeing
• Be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing, together with sound judgment skills
• Have the ability to travel (within the UK) on occasion
• Have a suitable working area and space available that is free from distraction (if home working or hybrid).  You will be provided with a laptop computer and access to our telephone systems and digital tools such as MS Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Research and evaluate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant funders, maintaining a 12-month funding calendar.

2. Cultivate and nurture relationships with funding/grant-making organisations, both new and existing.

3. Develop compelling cases for support for designated projects or organisational areas, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly.

4. Enhance Buttle UK's ability to deliver compelling reports to donors, meeting or surpassing their expectations.

5. Submit timely reports to donors, ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation requirements.

6. Support the maintenance of systems tracking fund allocation and expenditure, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information for funders.

7. Manage donor records on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database, including recording activities, income, and producing management reports.

8. Stay informed about funding opportunities and trends in the sector through attending conferences, workshops, and events.

9. Generate accurate and timely management information on fundraising activities and budgets.

10. Ensure integration of fundraising activities within the wider staff team and provide necessary support.

11. Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Fundraising and Marketing and/or the Trust Fundraising Manager.

12. Proactively assess own performance and development needs.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

1. Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations, other grant makers or the equivalent.

2. Experience of creating compelling and concise funding proposals, written documents and reports from a range of information sources, including detailed technical or sector specific information. about the organisation’s work.

3. Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

4. Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.

5. Financially literate with the experience of producing and interpreting budgets, or other detailed numerical information.

6. Experience of working under your own initiative, dealing with conflicting demands and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

7. Experience of project planning and/or project coordination.

8. Proven IT skills, ideally with experience of using databases.

9. Good knowledge of the charity sector.

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

Main Duties of the Role

• To ensure the smooth running of the office on a day–to-day basis

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Policy and with an expert external consultant, this role is responsible for planning, delivering, measuring and iterating campaign activities that lead to measurable changes in attitudes and behaviour amongst the public.

The campaign will position Ageing Better as a thought leader and expert on ageism in England and mobilise the public and stakeholders around key activity and campaign moments, working at a national, regional and local level.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver phase two of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action once a year for warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

1. 5 years’ PQE qualified lawyer, with demonstrable experience of management at a senior level.

Dementia Wellbeing Worker 

Age UK Camden Dementia Wellbeing Service is looking to recruit a Dementia Wellbeing Worker to join their team working 35 hours per week on a permanent basis. 

The Dementia Wellbeing Service is part of our specialist dementia services and works closely with the Dementia Befriending Service.

The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia, to live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged and carry on doing what they love.  

The successful candidate will: 

• Offer a holistic and person-centered assessment for people living with mild cognitive impairment or Dementia to ensure meaningful interventions.

• Manage a case load of clients, providing practical and emotional support to the most isolated and vulnerable in our community.

• Provide information, advice and support to carers (family/friends), health/social care professionals and other voluntary organisations and to disseminate knowledge and best practice so that individuals living with cognitive impairment in relation to dementia or undiagnosed dementia have the best care possible.  
   

• Maintain accurate and appropriate records via Charity Log database and in accordance with UKGDPR. 

Salary: £33,525.36 to £34,743.24 pa incl. London Weighting.

Hours: 35 per week
