Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal works in partnership with Aardman Animations to support Bristol Children’s Hospital and the region’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael’s Hospital.
Our passionate and motivated community fundraising team are seeking a Community Fundraiser to help with their ambitious plans to expand the community programme to increase activity and income whilst continuing to deliver excellent supporter care to our incredible family of fundraisers.
With exciting plans ahead, including a new Gromit Unleashed public arts trail in 2025, this role is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring and multi-talented individual looking to develop their career in community fundraising. With previous experience in fundraising, you will work closely with the community team to ensure that significant growth is achieved within the community fundraising programme.

Purpose of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer role:
As Senior Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all income generation via community fundraising. The purpose of this post is to feed into strategy, providing guidance and direction to ensure that Community Fundraising continues to grow as an area of income and that all Community Fundraisers receive high-quality support and stewardship.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer:

What we are looking for in our Senior Community Fundraising Officer:

At least 2 years’ experience of working in a professional fundraising role.

Experience of managing a portfolio of fundraising events for community fundraising.

Experience of working within a team and individually to achieve success; meeting or exceeding your financial targets.

Demonstrable experience of initiating cross-team working to achieve financial goals.

The Community Fundraiser plays a vital role in fostering and expanding our network of individual givers and community fundraisers. The position is responsible for:

Purpose of role
FareShare South West’s (FSSW) fundraising strategy and income streams have developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. Individual giving (IG) became a new major fundraising stream for us during the pandemic and is essential for ongoing sustainability as we expand and launch new programmes and operations to fight hunger and food waste.
The Supporter Care Officer (SCO) is responsible for all donor support processes, systems, strategies and individual giving fundraising appeals, which ensure we have excellent relationships with our donors to retain and grow our IG income. Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses
- Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy
- Ability to write funding proposals and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events
- Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fundraising Manager to join a health related charity in order to manage ambitious team of five.
The Community and Events team are passionate and hard-working fundraisers, raising over £1,000,000 each year through their care and stewardship of the charity incredible supporters.
- As a Fundraising Manager you will manage the budget setting, activity planning, recruitment, marketing and logistics of activities within the charity Community and Events portfolio.
- As a Fundraising Manager you will generate (predominately unrestricted) funds through the charity’s community and events portfolio
- You will oversee the successful management of the Charity’s third party and community fundraising initiatives.
- You will manage a strong, performing team, encourage an ethic of innovation and excellence and promoting the charity’s values.
- You will take responsibility for the budget setting, marketing plans, monitoring and analysis for allocated events and activities.
- You will deliver a diverse portfolio of income streams, including donor-led, national and university events.
In order to be successful, you must have experienced :
- Of working at manager level within charity fundraising
- Line management experience
- Strong track record of delivering targets, both financial and non- financial
- Experience of writing plans and budgets for area of responsibility
- Good understanding of successful project management techniques
- Inspirational leader who engages, coaches and empowers others through a clear vision, decisive action and role modelling of leadership behaviour
- Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects
Desirable experience:
- Experience of managing mass sports participation teams and/or challenge event participants. Delivering donor care strategies to successfully steward large teams to achieve high fundraising targets
- Experience of working with staff and teams across multiple locations
- Experience of using social media channels to market events
Salary: £35,000- £44,000 per annum depending on experience
Contract type: 2 years FTC, full time
Location: Bristol, fully home based or hybrid with travel to Bristol 1-2 times a month

Collaborating closely with the Head of Business Development, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding our funding streams, primarily focusing on trusts, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Exceptional communication and writing skills are a must, as you'll engage donors, members, and colleagues while crafting compelling proposals.
