At Bookmark Reading Charity, we exist to change children’s life stories through the joy of reading. We are recruiting a Fundraising Research and Administration Intern who will join the charity for six months and play an important role in providing valuable insight to teams across the charity, with a particular focus on supporting the Fundraising team. You will be responsible for research and analysis into potential donors, along with providing administrative support with donor communications, campaigns and database management. Job Description
- Lead on prospect research to build our pipeline of prospect funders across corporates, foundations and individuals
- Identify new organisations and philanthropists who could be supporters of Bookmark
- Support with delivering an effective impact reporting programme by creating termly update reports, case studies and mass mailings
- Work with the Schools team to organise donor visits at our partner schools
- Complete online enquiry forms for prospective Trusts and Foundations
- Work with the Impact Team to ensure that key impact statements and statistics are shared with the Fundraising team to support exceptional proposals

ROLE
Stella Maris is growing as a charity, in terms of income generation and new programmes of activity around the world. To help support this development, we have created this new important role. The Fundraising & Communications team at Stella Maris comprises about 12 staff members (some full time; some part time). The team and the charity have now reached the point in their evolution where we need to appoint a Major Donor Manager. This post holder will offer excellent stewardship to our existing Major Donors. He/she will also help to identify and cultivate new potential Major Donors from within and outside our existing pool of individual donors. He/she will substantially grow the Major Donor income stream for the charity. He/she will cultivate and steward Major Donors to give in new and more impactful ways, will increase giving levels, will increase the number of Major Donors, and will create lasting and meaningful relationships with our most committed and generous supporters. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and effective Major Donor fundraiser. The postholder will help us, as a leading maritime charity, to achieve our mission to support seafarers, fishers and their families around the world.
MAIN PURPOSE
The Major Donor Manager, reporting into the Director of Development and working with some guidance from the Head of Major Gifts, will maintain and grow a stable pipeline of income from Major Donors. He/she will secure unrestricted and restricted income from a portfolio of Major Donors to support the activities of the Stella Maris network in the UK and overseas. He/she will produce cultivation plans for individual Major Donors, meet them, craft tailored applications and reports for them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Manage relationships with a portfolio of Major Donors in accordance with the Charities fundraising strategy and giving programme activity.
2 Establish individual donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship strategies, ensuring each prospect and existing donor has an appropriate communications and cultivation programme in place.
3 Ensure that donor profiling and research activity is undertaken on existing and potential Major Donors (within data protection regulation guidelines) in order to enhance and develop relations.
4 Identify potential Major Donors from within the Mid-Value Donor portfolio and help graduate them up to Major Donor giving levels.
5 Working with the Governance and Executive team, conduct meetings and visits with individual Major Donors around the UK.
6 Accompany Major Donors on port visits within the UK and possibly abroad.
7 Craft carefully tailored applications, thank you letters and reports for Major Donors.
8 Support other senior staff and stakeholders, such as Trustees, in cultivating relationships with Major Donors by providing research and other information as required, and bringing them to meetings with Major Donors when appropriate.
9 Build and cultivate relationships with intermediaries, e.g. wealth advisers, lawyers.
10 Arrange events for Major Donors.
11 Ensure that all activity is recorded accurately on the charity’s Customer Relationship Management database, and that actions are undertaken in a timely and professional manner.
12 Extract monthly reports on activity levels with Major Donors, e.g. number of contacts, meetings, asks, etc., and circulate this internally to selected senior staff members.

Job Description
Fundraising
- Oversee all income-generation activity across Free Tibet and Tibet Watch. Ensure continuous improvement and innovation and an appropriate balance of fundraising activity across all streams. Current streams include postal appeals, online appeals, and the Free Tibet online shop.
- Manage applications for grant funding on behalf of both Free Tibet and Tibet Watch, working with the Fundraising Officer to build a strong portfolio of five and six-figure grants and steward them for renewal.
- Lead on the recruitment and retention of donors, especially Major Donors, and redevelop supporter journeys and stewardship programs.
- Evaluate new ideas for income generation and strategies for implementation, especially corporate and challenge events / community fundraising.
- Impact reporting of fundraising activity and the performance of quarterly appeals, with a view to improve internal processes for greater income innovation and ROI.
- Liaise with the Free Tibet Campaigns & Research Teams to ensure that campaigning, digital and fundraising activities are seamlessly coordinated.
- Managing relationships with third party agencies, like mailing services and digital mobilisation agencies, making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
- Ensure that our new Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, Raiser’s Edge NXT, is used effectively and to its full potential.
- Take a supporter-facing role in managing relationships with Major Donors, leading by example in securing mission-critical income.
- When needed, providing on-the-ground support for direct marketing, including copywriting and editing.
Leadership & Management
- Line manage the Fundraising Team, which currently consists of a full-time Fundraising Officer, part-time Administrative Assistant, and part-time Supporter Care & Shop Officer, nurturing their professional development and working collaboratively to produce fundraising projects.
- Act as a leader within the organisation, representing staff to the board and executive committee where appropriate.
- Work with the Finance and HR manager to monitor expenditure against budget and prepare regular reports on expenditure and projected income for the Free Tibet and Tibet Watch boards.
- Develop annual and project-specific Fundraising Strategies, reporting on appropriate indicators.
General Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Service Lead. This position will manage a team of around 20 Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs). THE ROLE – SERVICE LEAD
You will be responsible for the ongoing day to day leadership and management of the Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) in Talking Therapies service across Ealing, Harrow and Hounslow.
You will liaise with managers, clinicians and GPs across the NHS primary care pathways to ensure that services are coordinated and pathways into, and out of, the service are managed effectively and efficiently.
You will ensure the service operates in line with national guidance related to Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies and gives consideration to wider disability employment and retention support models, whilst striving to achieve and maintain national best practice in this field.
You will ensure the team develops in a manner that facilitates clients being referred to the service quickly, so they do not remain unsupported whilst on sick leave, and then support them to return to work swiftly (where appropriate), or to follow the destination that is best suited to their circumstances, enabling individuals to achieve positive service experience outcomes.
You will work in partnership with key stakeholders and contract managers.
This role will require someone experienced in leading the delivery of a mental health support programme, whilst managing and meeting commissioner performance expectations.
SERVICE LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. To develop and manage the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service, providing high quality, timely assessment and support interventions, including signposting for specialist external advice such as ACAS, welfare benefits advice, union or specialist employment law advice.
2. To have specialist knowledge and understanding of employment support and retention to be able to promote an early intervention model, which predominately focusing on supporting people into their preferred job choice, supporting them to remain in work, or enabling them to gain early access to advice and support to reduce the risk of not starting or losing their employment.
3. To manage the performance activity, data quality and service delivery of the team and ensure they provide an integrated and effective service.
4. To ensure the staff have an understanding of the process and philosophy of the positive benefits that work can have on an individual’s health, as well as understanding the benefit of early intervention and support for those at risk of losing their employment due to poor mental health, disabilities, health conditions or issues at work.
5. To oversee the development of new initiatives within the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service in line with national best practice and planning capacity for the team to meet the anticipated increases in demand for the service as a result of changes in the economy or incidence of poor mental health.
6. Ensure the service works within national and locally agreed frameworks and develop key performance indicators if none exist.
7. To ensure that the team has appropriate arrangements in place to guarantee that efficient, effective, equitable and economical services are provided to all clients.
8. To respond to complaints and suggestions from clients and carers in accordance with policies and procedures, and to participate as appropriate in the investigation of complaints, grievances, significant events and disciplinary manners in accordance with polices and present the outcome of the investigations to the relevant personnel.

About the Role:
This role is home-based with regular travel throughout the region. The Thames Valley Adult Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will be delivered in an innovative manner primarily through specialist group work provision - alongside online and telephone caseworker support.
As the Operations Manager for the new Thames Valley Adults Victim Service you will be responsible for the implementation, development and the ongoing delivery of a high performing service through excellent operational management and supervision of people and resources.

We are a charity based in Kirklees, West Yorkshire with a commitment to working with and supporting children and young people under the age of 25 who are facing disadvantage in their lives.
A large part of our work involves supporting the mental and emotional health of children and young people including supporting families where this will positively impact on young people’s mental health and well-being.
We deliver support, services, activities and events from our beautiful buildings and grounds in Mirfield. The site provides safe and therapeutic spaces which promote wellbeing as well as hosting weddings and events in the Northorpe Barn.

The role
This is a pivotal and exciting new role, with huge scope and freedom to diversify and generate income for the Trust. You will be responsible for building up a strong and sustainable supporter base by working with a range of funders including trusts, foundations and corporate sponsors, building and maintaining relationships that last.
We are looking for someone with experience in generating income and our ideal candidate will be creative, proactive, dynamic, determined and enthusiastic. The role requires excellent engagement and communication skills, both to help raise the profile of the Trust (and the important work we do) and to win the hearts and minds of a range potential donors from individuals through to corporate and charitable foundations.
You will be passionate about improving the lives of children, young people and families and use this platform to draw in funding from a range of sources whilst sharing stories of the impact fundraised income is making. By joining us you will truly help to improve young lives.
