Why we want you: Can you inspire and bring a team together? We need leaders to unite the Parkinson's UK community locally, aligning with the charity's values. Local groups across the UK are volunteer-run, offering friendship and support to people living with Parkinson's and their families. As a forward-thinking Branch Chair, you'll provide leadership to the group, from liaising with the wider charity to bringing out the best in the lead volunteer team, driving your local team to have the greatest impact on those affected by Parkinson's in your area.

What you will be doing: Be an ambassador for Parkinson's UK by engaging with local staff, volunteers, and your community to maximize the group's impact. Stay updated with Parkinson's UK news, share it, and ensure the group operates within guidelines. Effectively utilize volunteers' skills, delegating when necessary, and working as a team to meet local needs. Be responsible for keeping up with training, leading by example, and performing your role in line with the Parkinson’s UK Volunteering Agreement and values.

The skills you need: Enthusiasm for Parkinson's UK and as a local group ambassador. Strong leadership, organisational, delegation, and communication skills. The ability to lead inclusive meetings, make decisions considering multiple viewpoints, and possess a can-do attitude for community engagement, incorporating feedback innovatively. Confidence in learning and using computers, email, and other digital tools is also required. A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

What we need from you

You'll be

• help set up and/or man stalls at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events. These events will be based in and around the South Wirral/Chester area.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Role Description:

The Safe Space is a local hub for anyone who feels they are nearing crisis point. We are here to listen to what you need and work with you to help. These might be strategies to help you cope in the moment, a range of activities that we provide free of charge, resources to take away or connect you with practical local services. As a part of this, we are looking for volunteers to offer support to individuals who may access our crisis drop-in services. This includes a variety of tasks, which include greeting individuals, offering a cup of tea and biscuits, general reception duties, supporting 1:1 session, completing administrative tasks and generally keeping clients engaged and safe on our premises.

We are looking for someone who

• Has lived experience of mental health/social crisis
• Preferably have had experience working with people who experience poor mental health
• Are comfortable with co-producing and facilitating peer led workshops where applicable if required.
• Are willing to actively participate with clients 1:1 and in group settings
• Are able to take on any ad hoc admin/support responsibilities within the Safe Space Team

Time commitment and expenses:

• Minimum 6 months commitment, offer I day per week during our opening hours of 2pm–10pm.  Please indicate your preferred volunteering day(s) plus preferred site (H&F, Ealing or Hounslow) on your application.
• We will provide volunteers with an induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to support them in the role 
• Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed where required.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Activities Organiser for the South East Kent Group. As an Activities Organiser, you will be to bringing together our MS community through engaging and accessible activities. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

We are a very friendly group of 7 volunteers covering a large are of the South East area of Kent from Dover to Hythe and Ashford.  We currently hold a monthly support group meet-up in Ashford 10am - Noon 2nd Thursday in Month, but we would like to expand these in the future in other areas.  We have a support team who do visits and information signposting at the William Harvey Hospital.

We are very keen to expand our activities and would welcome new volunteers with ideas and support in helping us offer more for people affected by MS in our area.

The hours will be suited to compliment your own personal commitments.  If possible 2 to 4 hrs a week would be great if we can develop our services. We have the monthly support meet up which is currently 2 hrs a month but we would like to offer this more often if possible in 2019 to every other week or a new meeting in a different area.  We have group volunteer meetings every 4 months and there are volunteer events held twice a year for all volunteers by MS National Centre so all volunteers in the Kent area can meet up and share their activities and good ideas together.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You will know of local community organisations and be able to build relationships with them.

We are seeking creative and committed UK based Volunteer Social Media Designers to help us share our story and grow our online presence.

This is a remote volunteer role ideal for someone looking to use their design skills and social media knowledge to make a meaningful impact.

Role Overview
As a Volunteer Social Media Designer at Barefoot and Free, you will be responsible for creating engaging visual content for our social media platforms. You will work closely with the team to develop visuals that reflect our mission values and ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design social media content for use on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn
• Help maintain a consistent visual identity across all content
• Support campaigns events and awareness days with tailored designs

An accredited museum and award winning visitor attraction, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a charity and the largest surviving Great War Aerodrome in Europe.

We are a centre for volunteering and, with the assistance of over 100 volunteers, we deliver an extensive programme of educational and fundraising events each year designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of visitors including historians, aviation enthusiasts, school parties and families. 

We are looking for volunteers to help in our beautiful 1917 Airmen’s Mess Café with views over the aerodrome and the wildlife that thrives there. It is the heart of our site and popular with all our supporters and volunteers.

We open to the public, most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Hours are flexible but are mainly worked on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays when we are open to the public.

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable KS3 Science tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with long-term illnesses. 

What will you be doing? 

• Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person. 
• Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS3 Science. 
• Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions.

Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

We are looking for a fantastic and engaged youth leader with a real commitment to developing the youth of Dover and a passion for sharing first aid knowledge in the community. You will be responsible for coaching the cadets through their teaching program, supporting fun activities and days out that are inclusive for all. You must be a patient and caring individual who is passionate about pastoral care as well as youth education. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their organisational, leadership and communication skills.

We are The Unseen Barriers Foundation – a new, disabled-led Scottish charity (status pending) tackling the invisible causes of exclusion. Shame, sensory overload, emotional exhaustion, disbelief. These are the things that stop people from showing up — to appointments, to events, to life.

The Foundation is built around two original lived experience contributions by our founder:

The Unseen Barriers Framework — a landmark conceptual model naming the distress-based barriers that keep disabled people locked out of support

Cùran — a green plush dragon created as a visual anchor for distress, shutdown, and solidarity

Both are licensed to the Foundation by the creator to ensure they serve a purpose-first, rights-based mission.

We are now looking for trustees to help shape this work from the ground up. This is a working board — not a figurehead role. Trustees will actively contribute to strategic direction, governance, and growth.

We are currently remote-first to ensure full accessibility, but will provide office space (Edinburgh/Glasgow area) once funded. You do not need to be based in either city.

Estimated time commitment:

Around 6–8 hours per month including preparation, meetings, and task-based input

Board meetings held every 6–8 weeks via Zoom
