The role
We are looking for an exceptional Major Donor Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our new major donor team. Working closely with our Senior Major Donor Manager and Prospect Research Manager, this new role will lead on nurturing high-value relationships with prospective major donors who have capacity to give between £10k and £100k to FareShare, and develop and deliver a calendar of high-value cultivation events tailored to opportunities within our networks to strengthen relationships and maximise support.
As the cost of living crisis pushes millions into food insecurity, and the world is faced with a climate emergency, the difference you can make by joining the major donor team is substantial. Our dual social and environmental purpose has never resonated more with donors and we have just launched an ambitious strategy to double the number of meals we can provide, amplifying our impact and presenting a compelling case for support.
Key responsibilities
- Build relationships with a portfolio of prospective major donors, understanding their philanthropic motivations, nurturing an affinity in FareShare, and tailoring opportunities for engagement to inspire major gifts.
- Foster a deep understanding of FareShare's work and strategy to effectively communicate, inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the FareShare regional network and building a sound understanding of FareShare operations to support warehouse and frontline charity visits and tours.
- Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen donor relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of donor support.
- Lead the planning and delivery of engaging cultivation events through opportunities presented in our networks, aimed at establishing new relationships and strengthening existing ones.
- Prepare effective briefs for our CEO and other senior stakeholders attending major donor meetings or events.
- Work closely with the Senior Major Donor Manager and Prospect Research Manager to enrich the prospect pipeline, always seeking opportunities within our internal and external networks.
- Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
- Constantly scan the external environment and charity sector to optimise major donor experiences and identify new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in our CRM system and consistently update cultivation plans.
- Ensure compliance with Fundraising Codes of Practice and GDPR.

The new Chief Income and Engagement Officer will provide leadership and direction on all aspects of RNIB's fundraising strategy, creating innovative, sustainable fundraising programmes and initiatives. The Role
JLGB are recruiting a Finance & Fundraising Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its financial, fundraising and organisational objectives. This role will support and inspire an ambitious and high performing team to build propositions, proposals and pipelines in order to unlock opportunities to engage the charity’s supporters and untap networks across the charity, securing vital funds to underpin their strategic programmes and ambitions for people with Parkinson’s. The post-holder will inspire supporters to give their biggest donation and ensure that the organisation is giving its supporters the best experience possible, delivering an annual income target of £6m+. The role will also play a pivotal part in driving a new multi-year, multi-million pound charity appeal.
Maximising the value and contribution of supporters is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK; building networks, understanding what motivates their supporters, and aligning programmes to their charitable interests is key to the charity’s growth plans for Major Gifts. About the opportunity
Corporate partnerships are critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year) of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships. Part of our growth strategy is looking at building stronger relationships with corporate partners, having established a strong multi-year relationship for the first time this year worth £500k annually. We have a great ability to measure and quantify its impact, which we are looking to better communicate and leverage with current and potential corporate partners.
We’re looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on our corporate partnership activities and initiatives, including growing income from corporate partners as well as increasing the number of corporate volunteer tutor applications we receive from them. We are looking for a freelance Finance & Operations Officer - ideally with charity experience and familiar with Xero - who can support our core team of four as it takes the charity to the next level. Preferably able to work flexibly, the average time required is estimated at one day per week. This may mean dealing with an email or phone call in an ad hoc way from time to time.
Using a network of music industry professionals and youth workers, Grounded Sounds offer engaging, top quality programmes in a highly welcoming and supportive environment. The programmes are for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds - both 11 – 16 year olds in schools or youth centres and for 16 – 24 year olds (often NEET) with an interest in music. The programmes don’t just develop musical talent; they build young people’s confidence and life skills.
As Finance & Operations Officer, you will report to the Chief Executive and help with all ‘back office’ activities for the charity. As the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will lead their impressive trusts, foundations, and statutory income streams which generates over £3 million annually. We’re seeking a driven, tenacious individual with a track record of securing 6- and 7-figure gifts to lead the growth-focused team.
You will work closely with the Delivery Directorate who lead on grant management and reporting. With a fundraising-positive approach from the department, you will work collaboratively with them to identify funding opportunities and to deliver excellent stewardship.
As Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will:
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the trusts, foundations and statutory strategy to grow both restricted and unrestricted income
- Develop and oversee a portfolio and pipeline of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Write compelling funding proposals to engage new donors to give at the 6- and 7-figure level to ensure long term growth and sustainability
- Work collaboratively with the delivery teams to ensure effective grant management, stewardship and reporting for funders
- Work closely with the delivery teams to develop new projects and cases for support, and refine existing projects to meet the emerging needs of beneficiaries
- Develop engagement opportunities for prospective and warm funders to bring them closer to London Youth’s mission

ROLE
Stella Maris is growing as a charity, in terms of income generation and new programmes of activity around the world. To help support this development, we have created this new important role. The Fundraising & Communications team at Stella Maris comprises about 12 staff members (some full time; some part time). The team and the charity have now reached the point in their evolution where we need to appoint a Major Donor Manager. This post holder will offer excellent stewardship to our existing Major Donors. He/she will also help to identify and cultivate new potential Major Donors from within and outside our existing pool of individual donors. He/she will substantially grow the Major Donor income stream for the charity. He/she will cultivate and steward Major Donors to give in new and more impactful ways, will increase giving levels, will increase the number of Major Donors, and will create lasting and meaningful relationships with our most committed and generous supporters. MAIN PURPOSE
The Major Donor Manager, reporting into the Director of Development and working with some guidance from the Head of Major Gifts, will maintain and grow a stable pipeline of income from Major Donors. He/she will secure unrestricted and restricted income from a portfolio of Major Donors to support the activities of the Stella Maris network in the UK and overseas. He/she will produce cultivation plans for individual Major Donors, meet them, craft tailored applications and reports for them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Manage relationships with a portfolio of Major Donors in accordance with the Charities fundraising strategy and giving programme activity.
2 Establish individual donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship strategies, ensuring each prospect and existing donor has an appropriate communications and cultivation programme in place.
3 Ensure that donor profiling and research activity is undertaken on existing and potential Major Donors (within data protection regulation guidelines) in order to enhance and develop relations.
4 Identify potential Major Donors from within the Mid-Value Donor portfolio and help graduate them up to Major Donor giving levels.
5 Working with the Governance and Executive team, conduct meetings and visits with individual Major Donors around the UK.
6 Accompany Major Donors on port visits within the UK and possibly abroad.
7 Craft carefully tailored applications, thank you letters and reports for Major Donors.
8 Support other senior staff and stakeholders, such as Trustees, in cultivating relationships with Major Donors by providing research and other information as required, and bringing them to meetings with Major Donors when appropriate.
9 Build and cultivate relationships with intermediaries, e.g. wealth advisers, lawyers.
10 Arrange events for Major Donors.
11 Ensure that all activity is recorded accurately on the charity’s Customer Relationship Management database, and that actions are undertaken in a timely and professional manner.
12 Extract monthly reports on activity levels with Major Donors, e.g. number of contacts, meetings, asks, etc., and circulate this internally to selected senior staff members.
