The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. You will have a clear ability to tailor the way we sell our services to potential clients.

You will lead and support others across the company to communicate our service offering to external stakeholders that will directly contribute to the company’s growth strategy and impact.

Essential Experience

• Have a minimum 5 years sales and client relationship experience

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly within the education and/or corporate sector.

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

ABOUT ASYLUM AID

For over thirty years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum. We have built an expert service, delivering vital and life-saving services in some of the most complex legal cases, with a particular speciality working with unaccompanied children, Survivors of trafficking, torture or other forms of human cruelty,  and stateless people. Our vision is that all those in need of protection from persecution and other forms of human cruelty in the UK can obtain it, and are treated fairly and with dignity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Children and Young People’s Solicitor and Senior Caseworker at Asylum Aid, you will primarily work with unaccompanied asylum-seeking child (UASC) and young people (under 25), providing end to end representation on their asylum, human rights and trafficking claims. You may also undertake age dispute challenges and other judicial review work on behalf of your clients. You will combine this work, which will account for approximately 70% of your time, with conducting other immigration matters, including adult asylum claims, family reunion applications and statelessness applications. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider work of the Asylum Aid team, delivering high quality legal services on the full range of protection and trafficking issues that affect migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. You will conduct asylum casework under legal aid funding, with a specialist focus on representing unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people, and contribute to policy and strategic legal work to promote the rights of children and young people in the asylum system. 

 You will be a qualified solicitor or Immigration caseworker with IAAS Level 2/Senior Caseworker accreditation and have significant experience in publicly funded immigration work under a Legal Aid Agency Contract. You should have, or be able to obtain, Level 2 Children Safeguarding. 

As is the nature of this sector, the role will be exposed to a high volume of traumatic and distressing material and, whilst they will be supported by the Asylum Aid Director, supervisors and the surrounding team, they should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of good self-care principles in an intense work environment.

In this varied and rewarding role you will engage, motivate and support young carers and in doing so you will make a real difference to young carers within Surrey.

You will be based at our offices in Burpham, Guildford for approximately one day a fortnight, with access to hotdesking at any time. Your remaining working hours will be spent engaging with young carers within youth settings, schools or other settings or undertaking planning/recording work from home. Key responsibilities

• To complete an assessment of need with young carers and provide signposting advocacy and support.
• To work in schools/colleges to increase the identification and support of young carers.
• To provide regular and on-going time out and fun club sessions for young carers to meet others in similar situations and have a break from their caring role.
• To update the database and SYC webpages– for example to update young carers records and update details of planned youth clubs.
• To provide signposting and advocacy to Young Carers and their families.
• To facilitate bespoke sessions for 16-17 year olds.
• To facilitate a program of on-line activities (i.e. via zoom) to young carers.

About you

You must:

• Be confident in encouraging children, young people and their parents/carers to engage with our activities.
• Have experience of working with children, young people and families. e.g. in youth services /voluntary sector / social work settings.
• Have awareness of issues surrounding Young Carers.
• Have a flexible approach to working hours, as regular planned weekend and evening work is required.
• Have an ability to form good working relationships with young people and their families.
• Have experience recording case notes and information about children and young people. Have a good professional knowledge of standard Microsoft packages and databases

Overall Duties of the role will include:

• Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT
• Providing support to children with emotional welfare and mental health needs
• Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
• Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
7. Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

The PG Dip CAPNiP programme is an exciting distance learning programme from Anna Freud and UCL. The programme is targeted towards professionals working with children and young people, to support their understanding and application of the latest psychological research and practice to their working lives. The programme is delivered entirely remotely to the global cohort, using a range of online learning tools and strategies to support networking and connection amongst students; it brings together a diverse range of views and expertise from academics, experts by experience and clinicians, to support students understanding of a range of topics relevant to the wellbeing of young people.

The programme holds a particular focus on trauma and trauma-informed practice, including a specialist module on working with the impact of trauma, and on trauma-informed practice in education. The programme runs for one year full-time, or two years part-time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Research and evaluate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant funders, maintaining a 12-month funding calendar.

2. Cultivate and nurture relationships with funding/grant-making organisations, both new and existing.

3. Develop compelling cases for support for designated projects or organisational areas, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly.

4. Enhance Buttle UK's ability to deliver compelling reports to donors, meeting or surpassing their expectations.

5. Submit timely reports to donors, ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation requirements.

6. Support the maintenance of systems tracking fund allocation and expenditure, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information for funders.

7. Manage donor records on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database, including recording activities, income, and producing management reports.

8. Stay informed about funding opportunities and trends in the sector through attending conferences, workshops, and events.

9. Generate accurate and timely management information on fundraising activities and budgets.

10. Ensure integration of fundraising activities within the wider staff team and provide necessary support.

11. Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Fundraising and Marketing and/or the Trust Fundraising Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

1. Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations, other grant makers or the equivalent.

2. Experience of creating compelling and concise funding proposals, written documents and reports from a range of information sources, including detailed technical or sector specific information. about the organisation’s work.

3. Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

4. Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.

5. Financially literate with the experience of producing and interpreting budgets, or other detailed numerical information.

6. Experience of working under your own initiative, dealing with conflicting demands and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

7. Experience of project planning and/or project coordination.

8. Proven IT skills, ideally with experience of using databases.

9. Good knowledge of the charity sector.

As project manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and delivery of this vital  service, using your experience to develop the team, sharing best practice and seeking creative opportunities to continually improve the support we offer unpaid carers. You’ll develop trusted partnerships with local stakeholders, practitioners, businesses and services to promote and embed the service in the local area, supporting the development of a positive ‘carer friendly’ culture in Lewisham.

This role will suit a people person who can quickly develop relationships, lead a team, and work closely in a supportive role with Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers. You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.
