The Youth and Community Programmes team are looking for a Community Programmes Lead worker to support a broad range of activities aimed mainly at young people and over 50’s. Activities are delivered mainly over evenings and weekends aimed at making our community an inspirational place.
You will lead on session delivery and support the planning of programmes. You will manage and coordinate sessional workers, volunteers and workshop leaders working in sessions.

As a social enterprise income we generate stays in the neighbourhood. It’s used to improve and maintain our site which includes Bernie Spain Gardens and the riverside walkway, and to provide a range of free and affordable programmes and activities for families, children, young people, adults and older people in Waterloo and North Southwark.
Contract
Permanent, 20 hours per week.

The Haringey Generic Refuges provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. We are there for women in a time of crisis and help families take their first steps to freedom and recovery
About the Role - This is an in-service Role.
As a Sessional Play Worker you will be involved in the planning and delivery of a variety of sessions and activities for children and young people at the refuge. This includes listening to children’s ideas to design services around their needs, choices, and aspirations. You will support and involve children in activities which are playful, stimulating, and enjoyable, while promoting their wellbeing and encouraging them to take an active role during the play sessions.
You will work alongside the Family Support Worker - encouraging all children to take part and have as much fun as possible whilst helping to develop children's learning, well-being, and social skills. To be an effective member of our wonderful team the successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and creative
About You
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its We are looking for individuals with experience of working with children and who are passionate about play and dedicated to providing a welcoming and safe space for all children - supervising the children and always ensuring their safety.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on children as well as practical experience of working with children and within a team. You will also need demonstrate proven ability to work on own initiative and under supervision. A minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in childcare/play/youthwork/sports/coaching or creative arts is desirable. Job Purpose:To coordinate and deliver an exciting range of Short Breaks activity clubs for children and young people aged5 - 17 with additional needs and disabilities.
Hours of work:21 hours per week over 3 days - including one evening per week
Term time hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday/Sunday 09:00 – 17:00

Clubs run in Reigate, Epsom and West Sussex
Annual leave: Four weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.

Main Purpose of the Job
- To design, deliver and manage a structured education programme to schools, alternative education settings, youth organisations, corporate volunteers and our community.
- To engage with the local community by providing outdoor and indoor learning and environmental events and activities for children and young people.
- To market the educational opportunities of Vauxhall City Farm to schools and organisations in Lambeth and targeted London Boroughs and to maintain strong working relationships with schools and partners.
Main Responsibilities:
- To promote, deliver and staff a range of educational programmes at Vauxhall City Farm around the areas of farming, animal care, food production, wellbeing and environmental and sustainability themes.
- To develop and run programmes in line with the National Curriculum that meet the needs of specific audiences with a focus on under-represented audiences and those with complex needs.
- To lead on the facilitation of inclusive, interactive and engaging workshops.
- To design and conduct formative and summative assessment to measure the impact of our educational programmes.
- To use assessment and data to report on the impact of programmes for funders and trustees. - To recruit and manage educational staff and sessional workers.
- To build and maintain relationships with schools, educational organisations and community groups in Lambeth and the surrounding boroughs.
- To create educational resources for programmes at Vauxhall City Farm.
- To manage the administration of educational programmes and bookings.
- To design, develop and manage outreach programmes to schools and organisations.
- To attend education related meetings representing Vauxhall City Farm with or in lieu of Deputy CEO.
- To work closely with the Events and Marketing team on publicity and marketing of education programmes, events and activities.
- To work with other staff to improve and maintain the interpretation of the farm, to enable a wide audience.
- To follow all Vauxhall City Farm policies and procedures, especially equal opportunities, health and safety and child protection.
- To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements visiting groups are implemented and adhered to.
- To ensure high levels of Safeguarding of children and young people in accordance with our safeguarding policy.

Full time: between 30-37 hours a week subject to successful applicants’ preference
You must be available to work a Tuesday evening, plus occasional other evening and/ or weekends, if required.
