PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Wellbeing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of children and young people attending our camps. They will assess the social, emotional, and developmental needs of children and young people attending camp to determine the support needed during the camp experience. They will work alongside volunteers and colleagues to implement support strategies at camp that meet these needs.
They must assess, respond to, and escalate safeguarding concerns. The successful candidate will be a registered Children's Nurse with experience in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) or a special interest in children's mental health. They will work closely with camp staff, healthcare professionals, and volunteers to create a nurturing environment that supports the diverse needs and will contribute, when appropriate to nursing / clinical knowledge to ensure a safe and effective service.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Over The Wall seeks an individual passionate about the well-being needs of children and young people who use our service. You will also be a qualified nurse and occasionally use your clinical knowledge and skills to support the OTW Nursing Team when necessary.
Knowledge and expertise:
- Apply the basic principles of child and adolescent development and theoretical knowledge to work with children, young people, and their families.
- Sensitively relate to children and families of diverse backgrounds.
- Establish effective relationships and interactions, using age and developmentally appropriate approaches, to identify children and young people’s interests, strengths and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify health and wellbeing issues for specific groups of children/young people and for individuals.
- Work with families, professionals and children and young people to identify and plan for their psychosocial and safeguarding needs at camp.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement integrated individualised care plans, encompassing interventions and/or strategies to support children/young people’s and families camp experience.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to establish a camp environment in which children/young people feel safe, welcomed, respected and encouraged.
- Attend camp as a member of the Support Team, with a specific focus on behaviour, social and emotional needs (including mental health), and safeguarding.
- Supervise, mentor and support volunteers and staff in managing campers’ psychosocial wellbeing and behaviour at camp.
- Work collaboratively with the Nursing Team and the Clinical Team to ensure integrated holistic care.
- Ensure systems to monitor camper psychosocial wellbeing at camp are followed.
- Liaise with parents/carers and professionals as appropriate to support campers’ experience at camp.
- Deliver training and supervision around psychosocial issues, behaviour and safeguarding.
- Attend the relevant multidisciplinary meetings to contribute to coordinated assessment and support, raise any concerns and seek advice.
- Monitor and review the impact of interventions.
- Maintains and updates own clinical expertise.
- Takes every reasonable opportunity for maintaining, developing and acquiring competencies and skills for self-development.
- Provides support and guidance to Camper Recruitment Team and other staff around wellbeing and determining camper suitability.
- Leads the discussions with families and campers' wellbeing/psychosocial teams to clarify any issues/concerns and assess the suitability of the campers for camp.
- Ensures the provision of care is in accordance with OTW polices & procedures.
- Ensures high standards of care planning and documentation.
- Works autonomously to provide specialist knowledge to inform sound decision making.
- Contributes to the allocation of campers, taking into consideration individual camper needs and dependencies.
Camper Engagement:
- Develop informative, engaging, and relevant pre-camp communications for campers and their families.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide creative age and developmentally appropriate methods for engaging children, young people and their families in the development and evaluation of services.
- Advocate for the needs of children and young people.
Record Keeping and Administration:
- Maintain accurate, factual, and contemporaneous records of camper/family contacts and interactions.
- Ensure personal information or observations about individual children/young people are appropriately shared with colleagues to support integrated multidisciplinary care.
- Record and report all concerns relating to needs assessment or safeguarding children to the appropriate member of staff.
- Keep objective and contemporaneous records of contacts, interventions and outcomes for campers and be able to utilise this information to inform future assessments and practice.
- Represents the organisation within internal and external networks.
- Promotes the corporate image of OTW to all individuals, groups, and organisations.
- Demonstrates professional attitude in dealing with campers/families, visitors/relatives, and colleagues, maintaining good relationships.
Networking:
- Develop strong and collaborative professional links within health and social care.

- Work alongside the Clinical and Recruitment Director, Nursing Coordinator and the Camp Director, as well as the wider staff team and clinical volunteers to ensure that care, treatment and service needs are met.

- Ensures the efficient and effective use of stock, provisions and equipment within delegated budgets.
- Ensures adequate supply of clinical equipment at camp, supporting the warehouse and logistics operative.
Physical, mental & emotional effort:
- Travels within the UK and spends significant time away from home at camp and head office.
- Manages unpredictable work pattern and load.
- Demonstrates a flexible approach in working practices in order to meet the changes in service needs and emerging demands.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC (or equivalent) registration.
- Degree.
- Evidence of recent CPD.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and/or young people.
- Minimum of 3 years post-nursing qualification.
- Experience in responding to and de-escalating challenging behaviour.
- Experience in undertaking risk assessment.
- Understanding of the developmental, social, emotional and practical impact of serious illness on children/young people and their families.
- Experience in assessing and/ or supporting mental health.
- Understanding of current child protection/safeguarding law and effect disclosure management.
- Able to travel to range of locations.

Full time: 35 hours per week - these roles will be based onsite/in the community 4 days per week and work from home 1 day.
You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental or physical health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment. The role is part time working 18.5 hours per week and will be based at North Middlesex University Hospital, the entrance to the A & E department is in Bridport Road, Edmonton, London, N18 1QX.
The successful candidate will work as part of the onsite clinical team to develop and nurture key relationships both within the direct delivery of the project and the wider system support which is available.
Some but not all of the key responsibilities are:
- Identify key personnel within the Emergency Department and liaise effectively with them to ensure Family Support Worker teams are embedded within the clinical setting.
- Map and work with wider stakeholders locally and ensure Family Support Workers are aware of local services and assets to effectively signpost / connect families with appropriate support.
- Work effectively with identified operational leads within the ED setting to establish clear lines of communication and agree on day-to-day operational support for Family Support Workers.
- Support the Programme Manager in the implementation of standardised processes and systems to support project delivery and monitoring and highlight any local needs that need to be taken into consideration.
Ideal Candidates must have's
- A basic understanding of Public Health, including health inequalities and wider determinants of health as well as some understanding of trauma informed approaches.
- An understanding of the challenges of working and delivering an intervention within an acute setting and the ability to support and motivate staff in delivering an effective and holistic service to families.
- An understanding of family support and experience of working with families with complex needs

The In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support
Programme model offers a robust way of supporting often vulnerable families to uncover and address unmet need. Through identifying the underlying factors causing the clinical presentation and attendance, and addressing holistic needs of the family unit, we hope activity to unscheduled, primary and emergency care is dramatically and sustainably reduced.
The model is based on Family Support Workers based within Children's Emergency Departments, offering holistic, family-oriented support in a flexible manner either in-person, telephone- based and home visits to be able to address the underlying causes of repeated / avoidable ED attendances.

We an exciting opportunity for a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, who shares our vision. As the charity's Lead, you will be passionate about improving the quality of life for autistic children and young people with additional learning disabilities. You will be a professional lead to the Speech and Language Therapist Team, overseeing the quality of therapy within Ambitious About Autism's education settings, ensuring the teams make a real difference to outcomes for Children and Young People. You will provide line management and supervision to the Senior Speech and Language Therapist and main grade Speech and Language Therapist as required
You will work within a Trans-Disciplinary Team, support the Head of Integrated Services to review and develop the team's approach to meet the needs of students. You will also across all Ambitious About Autism's education settings, evaluating and delivering an excellent and responsive speech and language therapy service. This role can be based at our Ambitious Collage setting in West London or out TreeHouse School setting in North London.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong Experience of effective line leadership and leading change.
- Experience of using clinical reasoning skills and setting appropriate goals in complex cases
- Effectively applies specialist speech and language therapy skills and knowledge with children and /or young people who have autism and other co-occurring conditions to improve outcomes
- Applies the latest research evidence and evaluative thinking to practice
- Manages a complex caseload and prioritises and delegates effectively.

The Master of Research (MRes) in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP) is a two-year Master’s programme, which is a collaboration between Anna Freud, University College London and The Child Study Centre at Yale University in the USA. The MRes brings together thinking from multiple perspectives, with a particular focus in the role of neuroscience in understanding child psychopathology.
This post provides a forum for the successful candidate to develop skills and experience in teaching and delivery of an innovative and well-established MRes programme. The post-holder will be required to undertake several tasks to support the programme including i. delivery of one module in each term (Terms 1, 2 and 3) related to affective and developmental neuroscience; ii. support with marking and assessment of coursework and theses; iii. Support with student pastoral care.
The post-holder will need to have a relevant PhD and/or child clinical qualification at Master’s level or above e.g. Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology with child experience. They will have excellent knowledge of child development across a range of domains, with strong understanding of at least one main theoretical approach. Teaching experience at postgraduate level (or equivalent) is essential.

We are looking for a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual with an established ability to support the sexual and reproductive health of young people. You will be able to work in a partnership capacity, with an array of linked clinical and youth services, to engage young people and professionals in sexual health support, education, and training. About you

The Child and Family Specialist role is part of an exciting and innovative jointly commissioned service between London Borough of Harrow and NW London NHS and represent an exciting partnership with Anna Freud. The Early Intervention and Prevention Service is a community wellbeing team for children and families.
The Child and Family Specialist will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holder will also: provide specialist advice and support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Anna Freud’s thriving Clinical Help offers in the Schools Division. The post-holder will offer a range of clinical activities to address mental health needs in children and young people, including assessment and direct individual and group work with young and parents/carers.
The post-holder will be supported through supervision and will deliver consultation, training, and workshops to non-mental health staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Therapies Service at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney. You will work as part of committed and creative team, which offers innovative therapeutic interventions and support to people with specialist palliative and end life care needs. The Therapies team works in collaboration with other clinical professionals and volunteers across all areas of the service; inpatient, outpatient and community.
This role involves the provision of rehabilitation and non-pharmacological symptom management for patients with advanced illness to optimise their independence and make a significant difference to their quality of life.
Although the post is an AFC Band 6 post, there is scope to progress to an AFC B7 Senior Physiotherapist over a 12-month period subject to meeting role-specific developmental competencies.
We are looking for someone who:
- has highly developed clinical reasoning skills necessary to tailor and adapt therapeutic interventions across a complex patient caseload
- has experience of multi-disciplinary working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- is skilled in the management of respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, and oncological conditions
- is confident leadership and communication skills
