About You
Help For Heroes are looking for a highly skilled, professional, and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our expanding clinical team. Are you a committed, flexible OT with a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience looking to expand your skills and have the opportunity to work with the Armed Forces Community? If you have the ability to work independently but still enjoy having the support of a team, you could contribute your skills and experience to improve quality of life. Are you happy to embrace a flexible work pattern as the position will involve frequent travel to meet veterans in their own homes and communities and other organisational commitments including inductions, training and team meetings which may require some overnight stays? If you have experience of delivering Occupational Therapy in both physical and mental health conditions, then your holistic approach will help improve lives. Sleep difficulties and sensory needs are a large part of the role to enable veterans to live as they want to so experience in these areas would be beneficial.
About the Role
You will have the opportunity to work in the homes and local communities and be able to support them with physical and mental health needs that are creating barriers to meaningful occupation. By carrying your own defined caseload, you will be able to identify barriers that are affecting veterans’ ability to be as independent as possible and live the life they want to live. You will be assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating Occupational Therapy interventions for those who have served our country and improving the quality of life of our Heroes. You will have the opportunity to be creative in your solutions and the community setting will allow you to address these needs in the best environment for the Armed Forces Community. About the role:
The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.
To be successful as the Senior Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG higher level qualification.
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

BACKGROUND
The Helen Bamber Foundation is a human rights organisation with an international reputation for providing medical consultation, therapeutic care, legal protection, and practical support to survivors of trafficking and torture. We are a team of therapists, doctors, lawyers, caseworkers and administrators who help men, women and children recover from the emotional and physical damage they have suffered because of torture, human trafficking, or other forms of cruelty.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As Psychotherapist within the Helen Bamber Foundation, you will work alongside our current Senior Psychotherapist and be responsible for supporting the Head of Therapies and the Team Manager in providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions to clients of the Helen Bamber Foundation.
In addition to providing psychotherapy, stabilization, psychoeducation, and trauma focused therapy, this role will include delivery of psychological assessments for both medico-legal and clinical purposes, as well as delivery of clinical supervision to staff from non-clinical backgrounds who nonetheless have significant client contact, and supervision of assistant psychologists. As you develop in the role you will also have opportunities to contribute to the on-going development of the service and at times, the role may include input into policy, research and fundraising and delivery of consultancy and training.
We are looking for someone who is committed to working therapeutically with individuals who have experienced human rights abuses and who have developed trauma spectrum disorders as a result. The successful applicant will ideally have proven experience in working therapeutically with this client group, have a passion for human rights work beyond the individual client work, and a desire to contribute to effecting change at a policy level. This role requires the ability to be with the complex and sometimes harrowing details of a client’s experience, and to react and respond creatively and appropriately to their needs.Additionally, you will be knowledgeable and experienced in consultation and assessment including risk management, and have competence, or a commitment to receiving training, in at least one model of trauma therapy such as NET or EMDR.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships.
They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.
The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:
(a) oversee the smooth running of our projects;
(b) provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and
(c) support the overall growth and development of the organisation.
Role-Specific Responsibilities

Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

The role of the Policy Manager is to work closely with our members to give a voice to the society within emerging health policy discussions, public consultations and to play an important role in the development of our integrated departmental campaigning approach. - To develop the Society’s pro-active policy agenda by conducting research, writing policy papers and managing research contracts in-line with of our goal to improve the quality of care in Rheumatology services.

You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of support workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an
exemplary role model.
As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. Following your time on shift, and in general practice at all other times, you will have responsibility for reporting back to the Service Manager and for maintaining a continual dialogue loop of feedback that focuses on quality, and continuous improvement and learning and ensuring the smooth operation of the allocated group of services.
A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.
About you
- You will have significant, recent experience at a front-line management level in field of learning disabilities in regulated services which may have included being a Registered Manager
- You will have knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to adults with learning disabilities, CQC regulations and Health and Safety issues.
- You need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be a success in this role.
- You need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care or hold a level 3 diploma and be willing to undertake this level 5 apprenticeship qualification within an agreed reasonable timescale of 18 months as part of a development plan
- You will have the ability to lead and manage people and be a role model in all aspects of people leadership especially performance
