As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:
- Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
- Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
- Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.
About You:
With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.

Job Purpose
The Communications Manager will play a leading role in driving Career Ready’s communications activity, working alongside the Head of Communications and colleagues across the charity.
This role will put you at the heart of a range of projects, ensuring that we provide high-quality communications and content that support our programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and brand awareness.
Role Responsibilities
Stakeholder communications
· Work with the Head of Communications and other internal stakeholders to author and distribute stakeholder communications via relevant channels to support partnership and programme delivery.
· Deliver key colleague communications, including weekly and monthly staff bulletins, and surveys, aligning it to the strategic purpose of the charity and ensuring effective knowledge sharing and staff engagement.
· Support with the delivery of stakeholder marketing campaigns across a range of audiences.
Content and resource production
· Develop and implement a social media content strategy, including day-to-day channel management.
· Support with the writing, editing, and collation of written content, including case studies, blog content, and news articles.
· Update and produce key publications for our programme delivery, including liaising with colleagues and suppliers to oversee design, content, and production in line with our brand guidelines.
· Work independently and with the Head of Communications and external providers on the creation of creative media content, including photoshoots, graphics, and videos.
Brand assurance
· Provide advice and guidance to colleagues to ensure all communications are in line with our brand guidelines and tone of voice.
· Help to develop and implement brand assets for use by all colleagues.
Wider responsibilities
· The post holder will have additional responsibilities and projects set by the Head of Communications, including but not limited to website maintenance, event support, and supporting press and media engagement.
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience:
· Demonstrable experience of working in an internal, fast-paced communications-based role
· Excellent planning and project management skills, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
· Strong writing, editing, and visual skills.
· Experience of using Adobe design platforms (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
· Experience of using email distribution platforms (Campaign Monitor or similar).
· Relevant IT skills, including the Office 365 suite.
· Experience of developing and driving forward social media accounts.
Desirable skills and experience:
· Well-developed digital skills to help manage our WordPress website.

About the role

About the role
We’re looking for a communications officer to assist the communications team in delivering Spinal Injuries Association’s (SIA) strategy to further enhance SIA’s standing as the expert guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury.
In close collaboration with the digital communications coordinator, you will help make our website the go-to, accessible source of information and support for the spinal cord injured community. You will also support in executing SIA's social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure impact and reach.
Duties include
- Be proactive in working with departments across the charity to generate diverse and compelling digital content that engages and informs our audiences, ensuring consistency and alignment with tone of voice and brand guidelines.
- Support with implementing the necessary changes to enable the website to achieve accessibility accreditation.
- Assist with the monitoring of analytics for the website.
- Support with the creation and updating of information across the website, including the SCI Knowledge Hub.
- Monitor the website for any broken links and issues and work with the digital communications coordinator to fix them in a timely fashion.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will strengthen our current volunteering strands with effective governance and great communication and will develop new volunteering opportunities within the charity.
You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.
You will co-ordinate all aspects of the volunteer journey from recruitment, selection, induction, training and ongoing support and develop effective policies, procedures and guidance for volunteers as well as developing an effective monitoring and evaluation process.
We are looking for someone with strong volunteer management skills who has experience of training volunteers and of writing policies, procedures and guidance in line with data protection guidance. Also someone with great communication and relationship management skills who has experience of managing volunteers at all stages of their volunteer journey.
There will be regular evening and weekend work as many of our volunteers work themselves so need the support out of office hours. There will be a need for travel across England and Wales.

About the role
We’re looking for a communications coordinator to create and deliver compelling content, which brings our strategic objectives to life, to further enhance SIA’s standing as the expert guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury.
In so doing, they will ensure consistency of messaging and branding across the organisation and will strengthen our external profile and activities with key stakeholders, funding bodies, supporters, volunteers and within the third sector in general.
Duties include:
- To lead all projects related to marketing (in-house and external) including requests of production from inception to delivery.
- To support the communications and marketing manager, with brand and asset management, including communication of visual brand, tone of voice and messaging.
- To manage and develop a content curation calendar for each year, including observance days, key dates, and other partnerships.
- To develop a photography plan for each year, ensuring we represent a diverse selection of people with spinal cord injury.
- To develop and implement a video production and planning calendar, to promote the work we do and case studies.
- To support the campaigns team with their projects.
