We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.
This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.
The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. As part of the Getting Help team, you will provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health problems in a range of settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). This includes assessment and support planning, and community outreach. Typically, Community Engagement Workers support people who are on the waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy. The Getting Help team works in partnership with HMR Talking Therapies delivered by the Big Life Group and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The role:
The postholder will be responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of safe, creative and stimulating community play sessions and support groups at venues across Greater Manchester. You will ensure that a range of creative and enjoyable activities are offered to babies and children aged 0-5. About you:
You will hold a Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development and have experience of working with babies/children with a range of needs and abilities. You will be able to build relationships with children and their parents or carers. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, team building skills and organisational skills. A good understanding of Child Protection procedures is needed and the confidence to communicate any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.
What we offer:
This is a part time (15 hours per week), fixed term position until 1st June 2025 initially. The role is home based but significant amounts of time are spent working in the community and some weekend working is required, this is likely to be at least one Saturday per month.
You will receive a salary of £28,000 (pro rata to £11,200 for 15 hours per week) dependent on experience and benefits include 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata to working hours) and a Christmas closure.

Burnhope Community Centre is a brand-new, purpose-built facility that opened in 2017. Following Covid we have seen substantial growth of our activities and projects that serve our community. We currently run two toddler groups per week, an after-school Kids Club, carpet bowls, a walking group, Pilates, Zumba, Keep moving and other fitness classes. Burnhope is a rural ex-mining village near to Lanchester, four miles from Stanley and eight miles west of Durham. We have a population of 1,500 people with plans to add up to another 100 homes, including some social housing.
We are a CIO with seven trustees and five part time staff. Our building is new built, with car parking and some outdoor space, next to the Primary School. We have a small gym, a meeting room, kitchen, and main hall.
Our current coordinator has done an amazing job in fund raising and supporting our growth and we are looking for someone who can build on her work.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of Picker's programme of events. This will include two in-person conferences with attendees from across the United Kingdom as well as regular online events during the year. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective planning and delivery. You will also be responsible for the planning of Picker's presence at sponsored events and exhibitions, working with colleagues from across the organisation to ensure that the Group are appropriately represented and present a credible and compelling offer.

In this role
In this role you will:
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan a programme of events for the year, ensuring that these align to the Group’s charitable and commercial objectives.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop detailed plans for each event, including working with subject matter experts to design appropriate agendas.
- Lead for Picker on the administration of events
- Attend events, providing first line support to colleagues, partners, and attendees on the day. This will include occasional travel, usually within the United Kingdom.

Community Connectors work as part of an integrated, blended mental health offer to support people with emotional, social and practical needs to access a range of local, non-medical and non-clinical services, to improve confidence, social inclusion and independence.
This role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with statutory, third sector and NHS colleagues to support clients who are suffering from moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will need to have experience working with those suffering with mental health illness as well as being able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the services, support networks and local resources that may assist in improved outcomes for those dealing with complex and enduring mental health issues. The ability to be adaptable, work independently and the resilience to work in some challenging environments are key attributes for this role.
Service Delivery
- Assess suitability for community connection support as part of a blended team approach and support individuals to access the service by utilising in depth knowledge of local voluntary and community services and networks in your respective area
- To work with individuals to coproduce a plan to address their mental health and wellbeing goals. Am enable people to achieve these goals through facilitating access and connecting with appropriate resources
- Enable people to access community resources which may include accompanying them.
- Offer support, guidance and help where possible to people to gain confidence, overcome initial fears and seek solutions to any barriers inhibiting attendance.
- Take a holistic approach, based on the individuals’ priorities and wider determinants of health that impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, poor housing, being unemployed, loneliness and caring responsibilities.
- To work as part of an integrated team to ensure the best outcomes for each person accessing the service.

About the role
This role is vital for CARAS’ presence in the sector. Our communications have grown in quality and reach over the last several years, and we now have a recognisable visual style and verbal tone. Our communications utilise several social media platforms, reaching a range of audiences via LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and instagram. We also have growing links with local press. In addition, this role also has responsibility for our newsletter to supporters, having a direct impact on our fundraising capabilities.
The role includes collaboration with other staff members, working with programme staff to craft and share up to date stories of our work and its impact on the lives of our community members, and on the wider policy environment.
We are extremely proud of our communications and are seeking someone who can maintain the high standards we have built.
Specific tasks to cover are:
Social Media Management:

Regularly update the social media library with relevant content.

Incorporate staff project updates into social media posts.

Select and share relevant news articles.

Curate updates from the IMIX news roundup.

Create engaging content using Canva templates.

Schedule social media content with Hootsuite.

Make a difference
This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.
The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.
You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. This is a full-time role.

The Baytree Centre (registered charity no 1175145) is a women and girls social inclusion project based in the heart of Brixton, working to support local women and girls from some of the most deprived wards in Lambeth.
Inspired by Catholic Social Teaching and in response to local needs we offer programmes that include skills development (employability, language); 1-to-1 coaching & mentoring; welfare support; creative & academic activities and that build confidence and self-esteem, promote aspirations, broaden horizons and opportunities that help to improve life chances for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Our Services are currently delivered by our Youth Service, Women Service and Volunteer Service. We have a staff body of 27 and pivotal to the success and delivery of the Centre’s programmes is the strong and consistent contribution from our committed and active volunteers.
We are looking for a motivated and efficient person with willingness to develop her skills to join our Youth Service team to help grow the Youth Mentoring programme. The post holder will provide key monitoring and administrative duties, provide 1-to-1 support to mentors, and help with the overall running of the programme as stated by the Mentor & Parent Liaison Manager. The Youth Mentoring programme includes up to 120 mentoring relationships annually.
Critical to their success will be their genuine empathy and commitment to Baytree’s core principles.
