BEfriend is a registered charity operating in the London Borough of Ealing since 1994, and more recently, launching in the neighbouring borough of Hounslow. Our aim is to reduce chronic loneliness and isolation experienced by local people through one-to-one volunteer befriending and social events.
Role Purpose
To take responsibility for BEfriend’s trust and foundation applications and generate new funding opportunities.
Main Duties:
Trusts and foundations
● Lead on the trust and foundation funding applications which deliver BEfriend’s strategy.

About the role
This role is part of our London Borough of Hounslow team, reporting to the Local Services Manager, working alongside an experienced team of Dementia Advisers and supported by Volunteers. Volunteer role management is a key responsibility.
You will co-ordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of our services that are delivered in a group setting, including Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafés and Peer Support Groups, across the Borough.

Post Title Progression Worker
Responsible to Director of Services (subject to review)
Purpose of Post To support users of services through an education, training, and employability programme integrated with SCT’s wider services and enterprise offer, as well as partner opportunities in the wider community. To oversee and coordinate access to SCT’s Training and Development tutor-led activities including art, creative writing, digital skills, gardening, literacy, woodwork, and peer-led ‘Choices’ groups, and to monitor people’s progress over time.

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical support and training to people affected by homelessness and addictions so they can rebuild their lives. We have a Recovery Hub in Shoreditch, where we run an abstinence-based residential recovery service (‘Acorn House’), and a Training and Development service, including tutor-led art, creative writing, digital skills, gardening, literacy, and woodwork. In addition, we run Housing First and Supported Housing services, both in East London. Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. We now have vacancies to provide a service at HMP Wandsworth, HMP Pentonville and HMP High Down. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, these posts will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Wandsworth, HMP Pentonville and HMP High Down, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

1MM VM’s main tasks include:

Helping 1MM to scale by sourcing sufficient volunteer mentors who go on to become confirmed matches for high quality mentoring relationships.

Ensuring mentors coming online have completed the platform mentor training within 1 month, and that this conversion results in sufficient and timely readiness of mentors to meet the needs of programmes with one month’s lead time.

Providing ongoing support to 1MM’’s Volunteer Providers (eg employer partners), maintaining strong relationships.

Securing one corporate sponsor per quarter.

Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to mentors.

About you
Experience
Managing relationships with trusts and foundations, or similar transferable skills from a sales/fundraising background (essential): Experience of applying to and stewarding trusts and foundations to secure 5+ figure gifts over multiple years, and/or similar experience of building relationships to meet income targets.
Identification and cultivation of new business (essential): Experience of independent research and cultivation to develop a pipeline of trusts and foundations, and/or similar experience of generating new business.

As a Partnerships Officer (PO) you will be responsible for providing support across our national partnership team. This team is responsible for developing and engaging our corporate, trust, school and individual supporters, helping Envision to grow with impact. This role will have a particular focus on the development of corporate partnerships which provide mentor teams to support our young people’s development and funding to support our own sustainability.
Working closely with the Director of People and Partnerships, Regional Managers, the Senior Partnerships Manager and another Partnerships Officer, you will provide research, administration, and business development across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Partnerships Team in meeting income targets from diverse donor sources.
- Research and grow potential supporters across various donor types.
- Manage partnership records and serve as the primary contact for inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to the wider team.
- Uphold Envision’s values and be a role model for young people and volunteers.
- Ensure that all activity is delivered in line with Envision policies and procedures.
Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Experience of project management – highly organised, with the ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, partners and stakeholders – communicating effectively through written and verbal communication
- Experience of working within a fundraising capacity or generating new business – including desk research and self-generating new leads
- Commitment to Envision’s vision, mission and values and ability to work well in, and contribute to, our organisational culture

- Understanding of, and/ or lived experience of, the barriers that young people face, that contribute to the education and employment gap

To support this, we are recruiting for a new programme manager to grow our programmes and contracts in Surrey and Sussex. Our Surrey and Sussex area covers prisons including HMP Send, HMP Coldingley, HMP Bronzefield, HMP Lewes and HMP Ford. Working closely with people in prison, prison managers, Shannon Trust staff and volunteers you will ensure development of our criminal programmes maximising literacy and numeracy learning opportunities for people across a number of prisons and contracts in your area.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings, managing teams and contract performance, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. We want to hear from applicants who can lead, drive performance and who are as committed to the cause as we are.
This is a full time, prison based role at HMP Downview and will require travel across the Surrey and Sussex area.
