About the role

Our peer-led community navigation service helps adults with mental health issues access the support and services they need.

We’re working in partnership with other local organisations on the So:Linked programme, to support people across Southampton to identify and access opportunities and services that could help their mental wellbeing.

As a Community Peer Navigator, you will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues in group and one-to-one settings, include telephone, face-to-face and online engagement. You will work with clients to help them identify their needs and goals, including making/receiving referrals. You will also support volunteers and work closely with our So:Linked partners, referrers and other services.

About you

To be successful as a Community Peer Navigator, you will need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs. In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey.

Compliance with the requirements of Vaccination as a Condition of Deployment (VCOD) regulations is necessary for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users, and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.
