Victim Support are looking for an Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Practitioner to join the team in Staffordshire working 37.5 hours per week. This role is home based and will require regular travel across Lichfield, Tamworth and Burton Upon Trent.

About the role:

You will be support victims of ASB, working with a multitude of partners across all local authority areas to ensure their expectations of services are clear and their personal needs are met. You will work with both adults and young people & work closely with partners. Ultimately, you will help them cope, recover and move forward from their experiences.

You will provide high quality support to all victims of Anti-Social Behaviour managing a caseload and offering support over the telephone and in person, including home visits. You will assess the victims needs and provide emotional support, advocacy and practical help.

You will also mentor and be responsible for volunteers who will assist you with your caseload and support lower risk victims.

You will work closely with the local Council(s) ASB team and environmental health department, police, housing and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for victims, as well as a wide variety of people including people with additional vulnerabilities and repeat victims.

You will need to work well in a multi-agency environment, be dynamic, organised and flexible in how you work and support our clients.

Children, Young People and Families at BVSC

- ‘Early Help’ activity that covers all of Birmingham. Early help is the total support that improves a family’s resilience and outcomes or  reduces the likelihood of a problem getting worse.

- Delivery of the ‘Dream Team’ Bed Poverty Pilot, improving physical, mental, educational, social & economic outcomes by supporting children and families to have access to appropriate sleeping arrangements.

- Mobilisation of the ‘Multi-Bank’, a community donations hubs where companies can donate a wide range of surplus products to support individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. An anti-poverty initiative: it's an antipollution solution, preventing landfill, repurposing goods, and helping to create a circular economy.

The role

BVSC’s Children, Young people and Families team participates in extensive partnership work with voluntary and statutory sector partners. Together we are transforming the way Birmingham supports children, young people and families to help them lived more fulfilled lives.

The Coronavirus pandemic led to an increase in demand for Children, Young People and Families provision, and BVSC require an overall lead to focus on the continued development and delivery of our offer.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate complex programme management and systems leadership experience, an understanding of the challenges faced by children, young people and families, and the support mechanisms needed to assist them, as well as a proven track record in building and maintaining partnerships across the private, statutory, and voluntary sector.

Office Administrator - Donor Communications and Volunteer Liaison

Friends of the Holy Land are looking for an energetic, dedicated individual to join our fast-moving, growing charity.

Friends of the Holy Land has a small network of volunteer supporters around the country and an expanding number of financial donors. This new role will be responsible for communicating with these two communities, with a focus on preparing monthly emails to supporters, monitoring and moderating social media accounts, liaising with external partners to deliver external communications, developing donor stewardship and growing our volunteer network.

The role will also be required to help with regular office duties and will need to be familiar with all aspects of administrative support for the operational success of the charity. You will need to be comfortable working in a faith-based organisation, talking to supporters across the UK and with our partners in the Holy Land, and be competent in creating communications.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Office experience
• Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft office (ideally Office 365).  CRM training will be provided as necessary
• Excellent written and verbal communication and inter-personal skills
• Ability to proof-read with attention to detail
• Ability to write and design short communications, e.g. emails, posters (ideally)
• Pro-active with the ability to multi-task and work independently and with changing priorities
• Confident phone manner and a friendly demeanor - be a 'people person'
• Be comfortable working in a faith-based environment
• As part of a small team, a problem-solving, can-do attitude is necessary along with an unflappable demeanor
• Experience of CRM systems helpful but not essential
• Experience managing Social media accounts desirable

Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare to children and adults with M.E.. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
 

Opportunity: 

Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.

Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.  

As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.
