Specific Duties:
Strategic Planning and Development
Alongside the Board of Trustees and the Senior Management Team:
• Monitoring and updating the Business Plan
• Developing and implementing a financial strategy for the Business Plan
• Oversight and updating of organisational Theory of Change, ensuring KPIs for all programmes are in line with our vision and mission, and are achievable as well as ambitious
• Continued development and monitoring of the new Community Hub Programme in partnership with other local strategic partnerships
• Prioritising the articulation and communication of the Ark-T methodology and approaches to using the arts for improved wellbeing and mental health across our programmes and sharing best practice across the team
• Prioritising the reach and engagement of Ark-T programmes to a larger and more diverse audience representative of our surrounding communities
• Recruiting an increasingly diverse team of Trustees with the skills, contacts and time to contribute effectively to the running of the charity
Management of Staff, Freelancers and Volunteers
• Recruiting key staff and others.
• Leading, managing and developing direct reports and supporting them in managing their key workers – staff, freelancers and volunteers.
• Ensuring that processes for the recruitment and management of volunteers are developed and maintained
• Liaising with external HR consultants to update procedure and processes appropriately and managing staffing matters arising
• Enabling a safe, stimulating and supportive workplace where teams and activities can flourish and work standards and practices are maintained.
• Taking steps to ensure that staff and freelancers attain high standards of work.
• Ensuring that staff have, or can develop, the skills and abilities they need to carry out their jobs competently, safely and effectively.
• Maintaining and updating safeguarding standards and procedures and working with staff to ensure that staff and users are, and feel, safe.
• Acting as one of the two Safeguarding Leads for the charity and managing concerns from staff, users and visitors to the centres.
Finance & Fundraising
• Researching and writing funding bids to secure both restricted and unrestricted funds
• Exploring other possible sources of funding for programmes and core costs, including individual donors, corporate sponsorship and commercial opportunities.
• Working with the Finance Manager, Treasurer, and external
Bookkeeper, including using Xero software, to monitor the finances of the charity to ensure that sufficient funds are attracted to run planned programmes, meet the commitments of the charity within agreed budgets, and produce regular reports.
• Maintaining adequate reserves for the charity in line with policy.
• Preparing the annual report and accounts for submission to the Charity Commission to be independently examined alongside the Chair and the Bookkeeper.
Management of the Buildings
• Overseeing relationship with Landlords and tenancy agreements
• Managing Centre Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Partnerships & Representing the organisation
• Represent Ark-T as a leader in arts for improved mental health and wellbeing, driving change, particularly diversity and inclusion through influencing and contributing to the key meetings.
• Maintaining relationships and strategic partnership agreements with OX4 Food Crew Alliance, Oxford Community Action, Donnington Doorstep, Safe! and Waste2Taste.
Communications
• Overseeing the marketing and communications for Ark-T.
• Ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed of the progress of the charity,
including the publication of an organisational wide impact report in 2024.

The Felix Project
The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, food hubs and other organisations serving people in need. Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly and keyworkers.
We are a very ambitious and dynamic young charity and we haven’t stopped growing since we were founded in 2016 in memory of Felix Byam Shaw, by his father, entrepreneur Justin Byam Shaw. We recently ran a very high-profile media campaign with the Evening Standard and Independent, raising £10million to feed London. We have celebrity endorsement from Reece James, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jack Whitehall, Steven Fry, James May and many others.
Last year we delivered enough food for 30 million meals to help people in need. Because nearly all the food we receive is donated by the food industry and volunteers, every £1 of expenditure redistributes £10 worth of food.
Purpose of the Job
The role is subject to a degree of flexibility but initially, the Team Leader will be involved with the following activities:
- Managing a team of staff and volunteers to run a warehouse of chilled and ambient food
- Customer relations management of the community organisations we work with
- Proper use of our Warehouse Management System
- Physically moving stock around on warehouse on a pallet truck or by hand
- Ensuring the warehouse is clean, safe and efficiently run
- Daily briefings of staff and volunteers of the days priorities and what to be aware of
- Carry out regular stock counts of food we are storing
- Appropriately handle product recalls
- Day to day problem solving
- Covering Goods In, Warehouse Management Duties and Goods Out and general procedures
- Responsible for yourself and your team’s adherence to Health and Safety regulations
- Route Planning
- Training staff and volunteers

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.
To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.
You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the North London area.

You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 16. You will primarily work with low-medium risk clients. Holding a caseload of survivors, you will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty system on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
About You:
To be a Domestic Abuse Caseworker you will:
Have a thorough understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic violence and its impact on women, children, families and communities. Experienced of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour’-based violence. Experience of crisis management and successfully managing a busy and complex caseload and experience of risk and needs assessment and safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs.

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.
To be successful as the Senior Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG higher level qualification.
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

The Minerva service in Thames Valley provides one-to-one advocacy and holistic support for women affected by the criminal justice system. As the Interventions and Women’s Centre Co-ordinator, you will play an important role in ensuring that women supported by the Thames Valley Minerva Service access an environment that is warm, welcoming, and accessible.
You will lead on resourcing donations of clothes and other items to support our clients, as well as support-packs and resources, depending on the needs of the service.

Windsor Road is a registered CQC residential care home which offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health. We offer individual one-to-one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days. We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. FareShare South West (FSSW) is part of the national FareShare UK (FSUK) network of surplus food redistribution charities. We fight food poverty by tackling food waste. We source quality surplus food – from food retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers – engaging volunteers to redistribute to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people (individuals who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated, recovering from addictions, etc.). Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly, and keyworkers.
Purpose of the role:
Our Fleet Coordinator will work with our warehouse teams and the wider FSSW team to keep the wheels turning so we can deliver much needed food to frontline organisations. They will operate across the West of England, Devon and Cornwall to support the smooth running and upkeep of our fleet of vehicles and ensure minimal disruption on our operations. This role involves coordinating the servicing, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles, administrative duties and delivering change projects to ensure the continuous improvement of our fleet management. Our small fleet currently includes 13 vans, one car, one 7.5t truck, 4 forklift trucks and multiple pump trucks, distributed between Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth. This role will be working with and alongside a diverse group of volunteers, in particular working with volunteer driving crews to provide training and support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Fleet Coordination
- Vehicle Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs
- Liaise with external and internal contractors to arrange breakdown support, MOTs, services and repairs.
- Develop relationships with contractors to build a list of trusted companies.
- Triage and identify vehicle issues, then work with external contractors to resolve them.
- Coordinate and undertake vehicle movements between sites and garages.
- Carry out analysis of the fleet and its equipment including weekly vehicles checks and performing basic maintenance duties e.g. tyre pressures and topping up of vehicle fluids.
- Be the point of contact for external service providers such as leasing companies, insurers, fuel card companies and breakdown cover providers.
- Administrative duties
- Manage our vehicle accessories and consumables.
- Keep accurate records relating to the fleet and our drivers (repair log, vehicle checks, driving licence checks and incident forms)
- Download of tachograph data for analysis
- Manage CAZ payments.

Women at the Well aims above all else to be responsive to the needs of the women who use our service, and we believe the best way of doing this is by building a specialist team of committed workers who want to make a difference to the lives of other women. We are looking for team members with knowledge and understanding of how women affected by childhood trauma, social exclusion, racism, disability, poor health, and other disadvantages are more likely to be put at risk of sexual exploitation and prostitution. We value lived experience as well as paid work experience and qualifications.
We are interested to meet and employ those who can demonstrate empathy with the women we are here for, and who have the aptitude for this work, even if you do not have the usual levels of paid experience.
