Housing Administrator
We are seeking a Housing Administrator to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional administrative support for specialised supported housing services.
Position: Housing Administrator – Specialised Supported Housing
Location: Tankersley, Barnsley (with travel from Durham to Worcester)
Salary Range: Circa £20,000 per annum
Working Hours: Flexi 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About the role:
As a Housing Administrator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring efficient and effective administration, placing tenants at the heart of everything you do. From managing data systems to handling complaints and supporting tenant needs, your contribution will be vital in maintaining the organisations high service delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support using Microsoft Office software and maintaining data filing and management systems.
- Assisting with social media updates, newsletters, and Easy Read documents for tenants.
- Handling complaints and delivering excellent customer service.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve objectives.
About you:
To be successful in the role of Housing Administrator you will need the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve objectives.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service.
- The ability to drive and have a reliable vehicle available to use for work purposes with business insurance.
Although not essential knowledge of Sage Accounts Software and experience of housing and leasehold legislation, as well as housing and property management regulations would be beneficial for this role. Desirable qualifications include; CIH level 2 in Housing Practice or equivalent and NVQ 2 or 3 in Business Administration

You will be on the very front line of our charitable nature conservation mission, utilising your strong sales skills and your friendly and persuasive personality to encourage people to give us their financial support to bring about nature’s vital recovery.
A typical working day will revolve around enthusing everyone you meet to take small and manageable steps to becoming a force for nature. You will work at a variety of events and locations across Yorkshire, including our very own nature reserves, farmers' markets, shopping centres, country shows and major festivals. Basis is looking to appoint a Navigation and Support Worker (Intensive Support) who can provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited. The women we work with often require intensive practical and emotional support as well as help to navigate health and, social care, the criminal justice systems and other services. The women’s circumstances can impact their mental or physical health. They may also be at risk of or experience homelessness and come into contact with the criminal justice system. Many of the women may experience historic or current sexual and/or domestic abuse.
Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalised supported will help women to access other services and making appropriate referrals for women who wish to access additional support, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including, where necessary, challenging stigma and judgement women face.

Our services in Leeds provide support to adult women (and those identifying as women/non- binary) involved in all aspects of the sex industry or who are experiencing sexual exploitation. The postholder will provide support to women identified as requiring or accessing intensive support. The team work to Basis’ organisational values, taking a rights-based approach and provide evidence-based services to enable and empower women to make informed choices. The team have an established reputation for providing high quality, effective safety advice, information and support, enabling safer working practices. Services are provided within the community, on evening outreach and at venues as women determine.
