About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

About the role

As our Senior Finance & Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our organisation’s success. About Reprieve

Reprieve is a UK charity founded in 1999. Reprieve uses strategic interventions to end the use of the death penalty globally, and to end extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”.

About this role

The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.

They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.

Contract and location

The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance. 

 Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

We work together with Gypsies and Travellers to build the capacity of individuals and their communities to influence the decisions that affect their lives through our front-line support services, growing youth mentoring programme, community development projects, campaigns and policy work. Job purpose

This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial sustainability and integrity of LGT, developing resilient foundations for our front-line services, community development, policy and campaigns work to grow in scale and impact.

Working closely with the CEO, Project and Team Leads, you’ll lead all aspects of financial management from budgeting, accounting and compliance, financial management of grants, to reporting to the Finance Committee to support the Board of Trustees and leadership with financial planning and decision making. Finance is the core of the role, however you’ll also use your data management and organisation skills to help us maintain and develop our workflow and data management systems and processes, and oversee other core operational functions delivered by our Business Operations Administrator.

We are a small, collaborative and committed team, with ambitious plans to grow the impact of our work and to diversify and grow our income in the coming years. As a newly created role, sitting within our senior leadership team and reporting to the CEO, there’s huge scope to contribute your experience and ideas to the strategic and operational development of the organisation - and invest in your own professional development too. Role responsibilities

1. Financial leadership: Strategic finance leadership including financial modelling, meeting reserves targets, contributing to long term funding strategy, income diversification and risk management.

2. Budget management: Lead timely and detailed budget setting, monitoring and reporting across the organisation including management accounts.

3. Finance systems: Manage and develop the end-to-end finance system including day to day bookkeeping processes for the organisation, keeping track of income and outgoings, reconciliations and maintaining efficient systems and processes.

4. Banking and payments: Supervise outsourced payroll and pensions provider, administer internal payments processing and maintain all relevant banking administration and other relevant online accounts.

5. Grant management: Lead financial reporting for multiple grants, keeping track of deadlines, delegating tasks and preparing budgets for new grant and commissioning opportunities.

6. Compliance: Ensure appropriately robust financial controls, including compliance with Companies House, Charity Commission requirements, preparation and liaison for annual audits with our accountant.

7. Governance: Prepare budget and finance information for the Board of Trustees, also liaising with and servicing the Board Finance Committee.

8. Operations: Oversee a Business Operations Administrator fulfilling core operational functions including payroll, procurement, contracts with service providers and outsourced functions including IT.

9. Data and organisational systems: Play a leadership role championing efficient workflow management, reporting systems, and the continuous improvement of data capture, storage and analysis across the organisation.

10. Supervision and teamwork: Collaborate effectively with all colleagues, with frequent delegation, potential for supervision of line-reports, and support with occasional coaching on financial systems and requirements.

11. Learning and personal growth: Contribute to a supportive and courageous learning environment organisationally and commit to personal professional growth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

1. Experience of working in a finance management role in a charity or social impact-driven context.

2. Ability to operate strategically, proactively flagging and acting on opportunities and risks for the organisation.

3. Experience of delivering and managing all core finance and accounting processes to support budgeting, reporting which supports sound financial management and decision making.

4. Experience of financial management for grants and restricted funds, including drafting project budgets and financial reporting.

5. Experience of identifying and implementing improvements to financial controls, processes and operational systems.

6. Experience of short and longer-term financial planning to support financial resilience building.

7. Good Excel skills to support full cost recovery and income diversification strategies.

8. Experience using database/CRM technologies to store and analyse data.

9. Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrable track record of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

10. Good written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate and present complex finance information in a clear and simple way to a range of stakeholders including funders, Trustees, to auditors and colleagues.

Desirable

16. A professional finance/accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or qualified by experience.

18. Familiarity with the requirements and processes for statutory bodies e.g. Companies House, Charity Commission and annual independent audit.

19. Knowledge of GDPR requirements and best practices in data management and protection.

20. Knowledge of VAT considerations and requirements for charities or small companies.

The Role

You will be running a small team and will be required to be hands on to deliver all requirements of running a finance department.

You will lead on financial management and modernise our internal processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies in the current management accounting process and put in place new processes if required.

You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and will represent the finance function at internal meetings.

What you’ll do:

• Manage the Finance Function of the charity
• Manage the year end, annual budget setting and external audit process
• Production of monthly management accounts, reporting and variance analysis
• Treasury function with management of all bank accounts and credit cards and strategic financial planning
• Manage all grants, funder budgets and reporting requirements and contribute to production of tenders
• Work with the COO in supporting and preparing all reporting for the Finance Sub Committee (FSC), the Board, Strategy Implementation and Impact SC (SIISC) and the Senior Leadership Team and deputise for the COO as required
• Ensure the organisation fulfils its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities and obligations in relation to finance and tax
• Maintain and update all finance processes, policies and IT systems
•  Assist employees with general finance enquiries and tasks

Who you are:

• You have experience in a Head of Finance role with a similar size charity or grant giving organisation
• You are qualified, QBE or studying towards a professional financial qualification
• You have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including funder terms and conditions, employment law, charity compliance with the Charity Commission and UK accounting standards and SORP reporting, auditors and bodies such as HMRC
• You have a working knowledge of Sage (Intacct) software
• You are capable of owning multiple tasks and seeing them through to their conclusion, meeting deadlines and prioritising work.

The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.

We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.

The Adults Services Manager works alongside our Children’s Team Manager and our Social Prescribing and Community Development Manager, supported by Finance, Fundraising and Campaigns and Communications Managers.

Purpose of Post

• To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.

• Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.

• Support the Project Manager in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.

CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams

• Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
• Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
• Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

ABOUT BLACK ROOTZ

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The Finance Systems Analyst is a newly created role which will have responsibility for the efficient running and maintenance of ClientEarth’s finance systems, including Access Focal Point- which has been in use for over five years and Workday Adaptive Planning, a new system for the organisation. This role is required due to the rapid growth of ClientEarth and investment in new systems. You will provide essential support for current finance processes, suggest improvements to those processes to maximise their value and provide input into systems strategy for the finance department into the future.

As Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis, Catherine manages a team of ten business partners supporting the programme and core staff in their vital mission to use the power of the Law to bring about systematic change to protect the earth.

• • Supporting the Head of FP&A with the Workday Adaptive modelling and build to enable value added performance review and reporting in line with organisational strategy.

• • Administrator for Workday Adaptive and Focal Point to include maintenance and regular review of users, user profiles, password management.
