Role Summary:
Working for the Head of National Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing income-generating corporate partnerships to drive forward engagement across the whole Speakers for Schools proposition.
This role is the engine of growth for the charity: sourcing, engaging, and developing partnerships with employers across the UK. These partnerships will provide opportunities for high-need young people across the UK to access our programmatic interventions while delivering income to support the financial sustainability and growth of the charity.
This crucial role will demand close collaboration and working across all directorates to develop and deliver compelling and successful bids and proposals to potential partners.
This role offers a starting salary of £31362, rising to £33948 after a years successful service.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic Purpose:
- Developing outreach strategies to secure corporate partnerships in support of the Charity’s aims and goals.
- Meeting income generation targets as determined by the Head of Business Development.
- Responsible for developing and agreeing programmatic design for corporate partners in collaboration with programme and delivery teams.
Engagement:
- Working closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition for employer account management.
- Working closely with programme and delivery teams to ensure new partnerships are deliverable.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work innovatively to help with any tasks the team might require support for.
Delivery:
- Holding expertise in how Speakers for Schools programmes and interventions enable and enhance corporate CSR talent pipeline and social mobility.
- Reporting on activity to Head of Business Development.

Education / Experience / Knowledge
- Experience of business development with a variety of stakeholders and owning, managing and delivering an ambitious commercial target.
- Previous experience working with HR/Recruitment/CSR/Engagement teams is advantageous
- Confident liaising with and managing relationships with stakeholders from all levels
- An understanding of the UK Education System and a familiarity with careers provision within UK schools and colleges would be an advantage

Role Summary
This role, based in Scotland (working remotely) , is crucial in driving forward support for, engagement with, and coordination of high-quality and high-impact multi-day work experiences for high-need young people across the UK. Experts in the coordination and delivery of multi-day work experiences, working closely with UK-wide employers and education establishments in Scotland.
The starting salary for this role is £30216, rising to £32706 after a suucessful year in role.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic purpose:
- Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Experience opportunities from initial programme scoping with non-income generating employers to securing commitments, monitoring young person applications, programme design and implementation, and employer follow up.
- Nurturing relationships with existing schools and colleges in Scotland and onboarding new establishments
Employer Engagement:
- Responsible for account management of corporate partnerships as agreed by the development team
- Securing commitment from employers to deliver multi-day work experience opportunities.
- Account management for employers throughout their work experience journey.
- Supporting the account management of corporate partners by delivering on their work experience programmes as agreed by the business development team and coordinating with other programme teams to ensure committed delivery takes place.
- Training employers to use SfS products in the coordination and delivery of their placements, including but not limited to Portal and Google Classroom.
- Working closely with Delivery Partners to ensure seamless delivery of work experience opportunities.
- Leading on all employer engagement and meetings with your dedicated accounts.
- Developing and disseminating impact reports to employers at the end of their contract and in line with impact and evaluation framework.
- Working closely with Education team to ensure school engagement in areas of work experience activity and in line with charity’s target areas.
School Engagement:
- Training and supporting users to maximise the opportunity to their students accessing our programmes through our platform
- Delivering training sessions to schools and colleges on our programmes and building on engagement in Scotland.
- Building partnerships as determined by national education strategy to maximise our impact.
- Developing long-standing relationships with school and college contacts to enable engagement in and implementation of our product offer.

Delivery:
- Providing best practice guidance and advice on work experience programme set up and content.
- Responsible for delivery and completion of own work experience placements and the operational and administrative activity required.

- Taking ownership of own capacity management using capacity management frameworks to help inform future workload planning.

A little bit about the role
The fundraising manager role sits in the fundraising team within the external relations division. The fundraising team is responsible for raising between £1m and £1.5m in fundraised income annually. Frontline’s philanthropic income complements the significant contract income the charity receives from central and local government and enables the charity to carry out its broader mission to create social change for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.
Since we were founded in 2013, Frontline has leveraged its success to build committed, high impact partnerships with a number of prestigious supporters including, trusts and foundations, corporates and high net worth individuals. Our new fundraising strategy focuses on continuing to grow our network of supporters by maintaining excellent relationships with our current funders while identifying new potential donors, and at the same time testing and developing fundraising through community and events and individual giving.
We are now looking for a fundraising manager to help drive this strategy forward. The successful candidate will have experience across a range of fundraising areas (in particular community and events fundraising, individual giving, digital fundraising as well as corporate or major donors) to add strength to the team and allow us to pilot new fundraising initiatives.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Lead on developing our public fundraising income (individual giving/community and events fundraising), working with other teams and external agencies where suitable to increase engagement among our audiences and grow our public fundraising income.
- Work with and develop relationships with existing corporate supporters and bring on board new corporate supporters to grow income from this area, including through staff fundraising activities
- Work with other teams to develop opportunities to bring funders closer to our work and help inspire a culture of fundraising across the charity.
- Support the head of fundraising with the development of Frontline’s long-term fundraising strategy, monitoring progress towards annual revenue goals.

You’ll be an enthusiastic target-driven fundraiser, with experience in building up public fundraising (including community, events and individual giving) and working towards financial targets and growing income. As a Corporate Partnerships Manager (New Business) you will be responsible for securing new innovative collaborations with a wide variety of corporate companies to support the important work of FareShare including: charity of the year partnerships; commercial brand licensing deals; and multifaceted sponsorships/partnerships. You will work closely with colleagues across the whole of FareShare to create transformational and mutually beneficial relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of securing income/partnerships, within a fundraising/sponsorship/commercial sales environment, as well as experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders to create high-quality proposals. You will be self-motivated with strong organisational skills and an ability to set priorities, manage a prospect pipeline and meet deadlines. We’re looking for a creative relationship builder with strong commercial awareness and an eye for spotting income generating potential. You will be comfortable pitching to potential partners and will lead on negotiating bespoke deals and benefits packages.
You will work closely with the Senior New Business Manager and Officer to improve our ways of working, manage and diversify our pipeline and deliver our ambitious growth strategy.
Main areas of responsibility
- Ensure financial and non-financial targets are achieved by securing new corporate supporters

The Role

The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser, dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.
Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.

About you
As our Senior Philanthropy Manager, New Business, you will be responsible for helping to grow our portfolio, secure new partnerships, and take a leading role on several exciting innovative projects relevant to our audiences.
Reporting into the Transformational Philanthropy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving pipeline development and leading groundbreaking projects that resonate with our audiences. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of building relationships with a range of stakeholders; have an interest in learning about new ideas and applying them to our partnerships; and with the resilience and decision-making skills to achieve outcomes at pace.
In this role, day -to- day, you will:
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to fuel our pipeline growth.
• Take personal responsibility for overseeing a diverse portfolio of donors ranging from six to seven figures, serving as a role model for top-tier account management throughout the donor engagement process.
• Focus on securing multi-year commitments from philanthropists that align with our SCUK and F&M priorities.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with high-profile donors, showcasing exemplary account management to secure long-term commitments.
• Contribute to essential reporting activities and forecasting exercises to ensure our continued success.
• Foster a positive team culture focused on inclusivity and wellbeing, enhancing our collective morale.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, keeping us aligned with the evolving landscape of philanthropy.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Proven experience in client-facing or account management roles, ideally within philanthropy or corporate partnerships.
• A track record of successfully securing grants or contracts, guiding clients through partnership lifecycles.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating a compelling vision and inspiring others.
• Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and manage competing priorities with finesse.

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter). This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.
