Membership Fundraiser

Do you want to lend your voice to help save nature? We have a wonderful opportunity to enter the world of wildlife conservation, as a Membership Fundraiser for the largest wildlife conservation organisation in Europe.

With over one million members, the charity speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment.

Position: Membership Fundraiser

Location: Perth

Salary: £17,276 - £20,155 per annum

Hours: Full time, 37.5 – flexible working (including weekends)

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Flexible working, Pension Contribution, 26 Days Annual Leave, Free access to our reserves, up to 20% discount off retail items in our shops. Free access to a confidential Employee Assistance programme that provides support and advice around financial, physical and mental health wellbeing. A substantial Learning and Development offer.

Closing date: 18th December 2020 (we reserve the right to close this role earlier, so apply today to avoid disappointment)

Interviews: Interviews are rolling. Stage 1 of interview process will be completed by 23rd December.

About the Role

Membership Fundraisers are the face of the organisation and act as ambassadors. They are often the first contact a new supporter may have directly with the charity. They have conversations leading to memberships and work within carefully monitored Fundraising Standards to ensure that new supporters have the very best experience form the start.

As a Membership Fundraiser, no day is ever the same. Whether based out of one of the beautiful nature reserves for the day or out on a public site, the role involves travelling around your local area, setting up stands and engaging with members of the public. Whilst your primary role would be to recruit new members, you are also there to inspire, educate and enthuse the public with a real passion for nature.

Once you have undertaken your induction programme, where you will be provided with a wealth of information, you will be equipped with your own personal fundraising kit with a diesel ‘combo’ van with fuel card. Ultimately you will be working solo although new starters will be teamed up with a mentor.

As part of our Face to Face Memberships Team, you will receive ongoing training, support and opportunities to develop your career.

About You

As Membership Fundraiser, you don’t need to know much about birds. What is more important is that you are resilient, a good storyteller and have a real passion for nature and conservation. You will be energetic and a confident communicator, who isn’t afraid to ask for money.

In order to carry out the duties of this role, you will need to hold a full, manual driving licence.

We expect a lot of interest in this role, so give yourself the best chance of being shortlisted by telling us how you have applied your skills, knowledge and experience and how this will help you succeed in this role.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Fundraising, Fundraiser, Membership, Membership Fundraising, Corporate Fundraising, Corporate Fundraising.
