Job description

North West Cancer Research has one simple mission… to put the region’s cancer needs first, funding pioneering research to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer. Following an exciting rebrand, bold new strategy and with some interesting outreach programmes underway this is a hugely exciting time to join this organisation! We are looking to recruit either 2 part-time individuals or 1 full-time person to become a Community Fundraiser covering the North West..

As Community Fundraiser you will take on the exciting challenge of managing and proactively developing relationships with supporters – including community groups, corporate organisations, schools and universities and individuals within the region. The role will allow you to identify opportunities to raise awareness of the charity through giving talks and attending local networking events. You will also be working closely with the marketing team to promote events, products and campaigns. The role will be varied and interesting and allow the successful candidate(s) to manage their own diary, work on their own initiative and play a huge role in raising invaluable funds that will, quite simply, help cure cancer.

To be considered for this role you should come to us with experience in community fundraising and of working towards income targets. You should be a strong and confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with new contacts in the community as well as develop existing relationships to maximise engagement. Driven, self-motivated and independent you should possess the ability to manage your own diary and be excited by the prospect of making a real impact and growing income within your region. Perhaps most importantly you should be passionate about the incredible work of this charity and be a positive addition to the team that will further enable the organisation to achieve its mission and demonstrate its values.

The role(s) will be home based involving travel across the region and offer flexibility, positive work-life balance and an encouraging and supportive organisational environment. If you wish to apply please specify in your application whether you are applying for the full-time or part-time position and where you are located. To register your interest or find out more contact Charlie and Leanne at Charity Horizons. The close date for the role is 15th September but early application is advisable.

Please note: If you would like to submit an application or express your interest in an alternative format, such as audio or video upload, please contact either Charlie or Leanne who will be happy to advise on this.

Charity Horizons is an equal opportunities employer and as such actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We welcome and encourage applications from all suitable candidates irrespective of age, disability, hidden disability, race or national origin, religion or belief, gender, gender expression, political view, sexual orientation, medical condition and pregnancy.
