In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

• Be at the forefront of leading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, empowering churches to transform young lives
• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure effective recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme
• Oversee the reporting of the Centre outcomes and ensure the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets

Leadership, line management and training [25%]

• Lead your team with confidence; spurring them on in Resurgo’s mission; invest in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun
• Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Graduate Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment

Operations [10%]

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

Job Description

Job Title: Head of School Programmes

Reports to: Director of Programmes

Location: Quantum House, 22 – 24 Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, London, EC4A 3AB The role is open to hybrid working but the candidate would be expected to be in the office one day per week

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team supporting and engaging thousands of state schools nationally to effectively use the Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes to improve outcomes for children and young people. These programmes leverage technology to raise the aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people by connecting them to a huge range of volunteers from the world of work via career related learning activities. Alongside staff management and delivering a strategy for general programme engagement, the role manages the delivery of several funded projects.

Remuneration: £36 - £40k per annum FTE depending on experience

Additional Terms: 30 days paid holiday, exclusive of Statutory Holiday plus competitive pension scheme and a volunteering allowance of up to 5 days – pro rata in accordance with the length of contract. Additional family friendly benefits including enhancements to Statutory Payments.

Appointment Terms: Permanent and full time. We are open to part time working of a minimum of 4 days per week (0.8 FTE).

Job purpose

Working closely with the senior management team and deputising for the Director of Programmes where necessary, the successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and delivering a strategy to support the increase in successful school engagement with the charity’s main programmes Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures. This will include managing and leading a team to deliver effective school support, building strong relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, unions and school networks and ensuring appropriate marketing, resources and guidance to support effective school usage. The role will be responsible for managing several key funded projects and contracts for the charity.

The schools team are responsible for both delivery of key funded projects and contracts as well as driving up awareness and effective engagement with Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures from schools. We now have over 11,000 teachers from state schools and colleges registered on Inspiring the Future and want to see a significant increase in those successfully using the platform and its related services over the next five years. In particular, we are looking to engage significantly more primary schools as well as continue our strong links with secondary and college staff.

The successful applicant will be expected to quickly pick up delivery of key projects and review, and where appropriate improve, existing strategic plans to engage and support state schools through our programmes and therefore a good understand of career related learning activities is essential. They will be supported by the Director of Programmes and senior management team and an excellent schools team of passionate staff.

The ideal candidate will be able to lead and manage a small and dynamic team and will be able to absorb key information quickly, working across a number of varied projects and programmes.

Key Accountabilities

Schools Engagement

• Working with the Director of Programmes to review, improve and implement strategic plans to increase the charity’s engagement with primary schools and secondary/colleges for Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes
• Reviewing and updating KPIs around the number of schools registered, engaged and school satisfaction levels and monitoring these, adapting approaches as appropriate and utilising our salesforce CRM as a basis for reporting
• Utilising feedback mechanisms to monitor impact of programmes and projects, for children, young people, teachers and parents / carers as appropriate, working closely with colleagues across the team
• Developing and maintaining key relationships with careers providers, the Careers and Enterprise Company, local partners, teaching networks and unions and across various types of schools
• Presenting at virtual and face to face conferences and network events to school/college audiences about our programmes with a view to improving engagement and awareness,
• Leading the review and enhancement of resources and marketing materials for school engagement and ensuring these (including on our websites) are up to date
• Ensuring we have a strong teacher ambassador network that help drive the quality of our programmes and who act as advocates for the charity
• Working with the Communications Officer to support engaging content and newsletters for schools audience
• Input into the development of the team’s budget and forecasting.
• Keeping up to date with current education sector issues, research and trends particularly related to careers support and employer engagement.

Project Management and Delivery

•  Funded projects – leading the overall management and delivery of several projects which seek to engage schools to use Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures including funder relationship, project design, reporting, managing operational delivery and evaluation
• Supporting the charity to develop funding bids and identifying opportunities for future funding

Team Leadership / Line Management

• Line management of the Schools Engagement Team – currently 5 staff members
• Fostering a strong team environment including regular team meetings
• Supporting the recruitment of new staff including the development of any job descriptions

Essential

• A strong understanding of career-related learning at primary and secondary level
• Proven track record in delivery of programmes in primary and secondary schools
• Experience in successful project and programme management, including managing funder relationships and reporting.

About the Education and Employers charity

Education and Employers is an independent UK based charity launched in 2009 with the vision of “providing children and young people with the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential”. It aims to achieve this by working with schools, employers, the national bodies that represent them and a wide range of other partners including the government and third sector organisations. The charity also works with partners internationally.

The charity runs Inspiring the Future, a free service which uses innovative match-making technology to connect volunteers with state schools and colleges, quickly, simply and at scale. Schools can very easily search a massive database of willing volunteers, filter against a wide range of criteria – e.g. subject, sector, career route and send them a message. It enables young people, wherever they live, whichever school they attend, the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds doing jobs from across the whole world of work.

Nearly 85,000 people have already volunteered in the UK - people from all levels: apprentices to CEOs and all sectors: apps designers to zoologists and over 85% of English secondary schools have registered. Inspiring the Future operates on a technology platform kindly developed in partnership with Deloitte, Salesforce and Ordnance Survey. It allows the charity to run national campaigns others focused on specific geographic areas or economic sectors such as engineering, science, health and arts and culture. The campaigns have secured high profile support across government, business and teacher associations and ongoing corporate partnerships including our lead corporate partner Bank of America.

In partnership with the National Association of Head Teachers the charity has developed a version for primary schools called Primary Futures and over 6,500 primaries have already signed up. Te.  All campaigns run through Inspiring the Future share a common objective: to broaden young people’s horizons, raise their aspirations and show them the range of opportunities and careers routes e.g. apprenticeships and university open to them. Over 3.5 million interactions between young people and volunteers from the world of work have already taken place.

The charity runs Inspiring Governance the free governor recruitment and support service. This Department for Education funded service aims to get highly skilled volunteers to serve as governors in some of the most disadvantaged schools in England and in so doing help raise educational achievement.

Since the Charity’s launch it has sought to understand what difference employer engagement in education makes to young people and the economy. It works with academics and researchers from around the world and its own research is regularly cited by government and international organisations like the OECD. The research, which has informed and influenced a range of government policies, shows that employer engagement helps improve social mobility, reduces the likelihood of young people becoming NEET (not in education, employment of training), increases the amount they earn in adult life, helps them make better informed career choices and leads to improvements in educational attainment.

Refugee Action Kingston exists to enable refugees and asylum seekers to succeed as integrated members of the local community. For over 30 years, we have achieved this mission by delivering a range of services including welfare, immigration and legal advice, education, counselling, and careers guidance.

We are looking for a Partnership and Digital Marketing Co-ordinator

Location:  Hybrid – remote/office in central Kingston

Main Duties

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team and support the Head of Fundraising in maximising income to meet and exceed financial targets. Hand in Hand International help women beat the odds and succeed as entrepreneurs. Some are smallholder farmers learning to stand up to climate change. Some are refugees starting a new life after running from conflict. Hand in Hand are a lean operation, with 90% of all funds raised being spent directly on programmes in 2023-2024. You will play an important part in maximising funds raised for Hand in Hand, contributing to long-term success.

Reporting directly to Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the primary objective of the role is to manage existing grants and accounts, secure new funding and manage a Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer.

Your key focus will be identifying, creating relationships with and securing donations from corporate and family Trusts and Foundations and/or major donors. The role is highly international, working with colleagues across Afghanistan, Kenya and Tanzania, and a prospect base spread across globe.

Key responsibilities

• Grow income securing five- and six-figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations (60%) Corporate (30%) and Major Donors (10%) supporting an income target of £1.8m.
• Drive the expansion of Hand in Hand’s income by securing significant gifts ranging from five to seven figures from both new and existing donors.
• Engage senior-level donors through calls, meetings, and events to provide updates on project advancements and identify additional donation opportunities.
• Collaborate with UK-based colleagues and in-country teams in the creation of comprehensive proposals, including narrative content, logical frameworks, and budgets.

• Proven experience in high value fundraising across, trusts, corporate or major donor.

The purpose of this role is to engage, cultivate and secure support from major gifts, grants, legacies and partnerships across Essex and Hertfordshire which will help shape, deliver and protect our vital life-changing service for the future. In particular it will focus on enabling the vision of EHAAT’s innovative Centre for Excellence.

This is an exciting time at EHAAT. Over the past two years, a strategy has been devised and initiated to develop major giving as a new stream of funding for the charity. As we enter the next phase of the strategy, this role presents a unique opportunity to build on the initial success of this programme and shape its future, alongside a committed and growing Development Board and a dedicated team, and with the support of the trustees and executive team. At the same time, we are bringing together for the first time other important areas of our fundraising, including legacies, trusts and foundations, and corporate partnership under the leadership of the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to build a strong and focused team delivering across philanthropic giving for the charity.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with senior level prospects and givers in a charitable context, as well as experience across other areas including legacies, trusts and foundations and corporate fundraising. A genuine team player, they will demonstrate strategic thinking, creativity and leadership, to inspire and motivate key individuals and to build strong, long-lasting relationships with the charity. In addition, they will have management experience to unite, develop and lead the team to achieve challenging targets and deliver long term philanthropic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the strategy to build philanthropic giving at EHAAT in consultation with the CEO, Executive Team, Trustees and Development Board, to support the charity’s objectives and long term aims.
• Deliver a fundraising plan across the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, including major giving, legacies, trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships, to achieve agreed strategic objectives.
• Provide excellent executive support and guidance to the Development Board and the Chair, and take a leading role in building the Board further by identifying and recruiting to its membership and the wider pool of Ambassadors.
• Ensure philanthropic giving to the charity is strengthened through in-depth research, compelling proposals, wellcrafted approaches for gifts and excellent stewardship.
• Deliver regular activity and income reports and participate in the budgeting and forecasting of income in this area.
• Lead and support the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, enabling team members to fulfil their potential and meet agreed objectives through collaborative and shared working.
• Work across the charity to collaboratively create exciting and impactful propositions for funding, impact reports, and stewardship opportunities, in particular relating to the Centre for Excellence.
• Implement and regularly review an effective gift policy and undertake all necessary due diligence prior to accepting gifts, ensuring donations and grants are correctly allocated and used, and conditions met.
• Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of EHAAT's current work and future strategic plans.
• Identify potential relationships and opportunities across the fundraising team, recognising where there is overlap.
• Act as a source of expertise in major gift fundraising for the charity, advising trustees, development board and executive team on managing key philanthropic relationships and partnerships.

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years and is the major provider of services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind in Surrey.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and creative Corporate and Community Fundraiser to lead on the development and growth of income through businesses and local communities across Surrey. Through your wealth of fundraising experience, you will research and identify new partnership opportunities as well as manage existing relationships, to drive unrestricted income for the charity.

The post holder must have a minimum of three years fundraising experience and use their initiative, personal presence and drive to support all fundraising activity to achieve a substantial increase in unrestricted income.

The post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise effectively and manage a busy and varied workload. This is an exciting opportunity to join the charity and play an integral role in growing partnerships across Surrey.

Principle Accountabilities:

· Research and identify new partnership opportunities

· Provide excellent account management to new and existing partners in order to meet key fundraising and engagement objectives

· Work collaboratively to generate income from partners through creative fundraising initiatives

· Represent the charity at local functions and give presentations when required

· Create engaging assets for applications and pitch presentations

· Deliver a calendar of community fundraising events, promoting awareness campaigns to supporters and building engagement with new audiences

· Support individuals and organisations fundraising for the charity

· Maintain accurate and up to date record keeping of written and oral communication with supporters.

· Attend evening and weekend events on behalf of Sight for Surrey.

· To comply with best practice and legal requirements including data protection and charity fundraising.

· Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting your work.

· Carry out other associated duties as may arise, develop, or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post.

Work Context:

The post holder will be highly motivated and organised to research, identify and build new and existing relationships with local businesses and community organisations in order to increase unrestricted income and engagement for the charity.

Sight for Surrey constantly needs to reassess its priorities in line with a changing funding environment and the needs identified by its members and service users.  These factors are crucial to the charity’s survival and need careful attention.  In order for Sight for Surrey to successfully manage these pressures there is a need for all staff to be flexible and work wherever their core skills are needed most.  No-one will be asked to carry out work for which they are not properly trained.

Full time annual leave entitlement is 28 days per annum. Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey complies with auto enrolment, we match contributions up to 6% using the Pensions Trust. The Volunteer Manager (VM) is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors across the regions, which includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, general oversight of mentoring relationships in different programmes, implementation of safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline across the regions, with 5000 new mentors for 2024.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM VM’s main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by sourcing sufficient volunteer mentors who go on to become confirmed matches for high quality mentoring relationships.

• Ensuring mentors coming online have completed the platform mentor training within 1 month, and that this conversion results in sufficient and timely readiness of mentors to meet the needs of programmes with one month’s lead time.

• Providing ongoing support to 1MM’’s Volunteer Providers (eg employer partners), maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing one corporate sponsor per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to mentors.

• Providing a weekly update on various aspects of mentor recruitment, including expected supply, actual registration, and confirmed matching. Share lessons learned on volunteer conversion and matching with the wider team.

This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.
