This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
This role is based within the Advancement Team and is a great opportunity for an early stage philanthropy researcher, fundraising executive or someone wishing to work in charitable fundraising who has some experience of, and an aptitude for, researching and analysing data on individuals and/or organisations. With an enquiring mind, outstanding initiative and excellent problem-solving skills, you will support fundraising and relationship management across our Philanthropy programmes, working primarily with fundraising colleagues to maximise philanthropic support for the University and its strategic aims. Aligning flagship fundraising projects with donor interests, and using a range of internal and external data sources, you will identify and research potential major philanthropic donors worldwide, providing assessments of giving capacity and affinity to the University.
As a member of the Research Team in Advancement Operations, you will work in partnership with fundraisers on the management of their portfolios of major and potential donors, proactively providing advice on strategies to engage and help develop long-term, meaningful and productive relationships.
You will also support other members of the Team to deliver our established gift acceptance programme*, in order to help mitigate any strategic, financial, legal, ethical or reputational risk associated with the University accepting significant philanthropic donations.
Major Gifts are those with a value of £25,000 to £999,999. Existing and potential major donors are high net worth individuals, charitable trusts & foundations, corporations and other grant making organisations.
