Job description

Open Doors is an international, interdenominational organization that supports Christians who are persecuted for their faith. Open Doors International supports the worldwide organization with services such as IT, DME Program Management, Finance, Advocacy, and HR by working in a service-oriented way with teams and colleagues in countries with an Open Doors Development or Field office.

Our Global IT Team consists of 22 colleagues, allocated in different parts of the world, like the Netherlands, Philippines and Brazil and they support about 1500 users worldwide. The team consists of an IT Service Team, which is responsible for the development, maintenance & support of all systems and an IT Change team, which is responsible for Business Analysis, Application Management and Programming.

The IT Project Manager is working next to these teams and is responsible to lead IT projects, in close collaboration with your internal stakeholders and IT specialists. This position reports directly to the Global IT Manager.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and lead multiple project plans simultaneously.
  • Achieve objectives within the set conditions and timeframe, with a strong focus on delivering high quality results and people skills to lead project teams.
  • Timely flag when and how planning or content needs to be adjusted, taking appropriate action and maintaining contact with the stakeholders.
  • Oversee and monitor progress of all different projects running simultaneously.
  • Work closely with the IT Business Analyst and IT Services Manager.

Your profile

  • A committed Christian* with a passion for the Persecuted Church
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work and thinking level in a relevant area
  • Significant breadth and depth of experience in a relevant position, including system development, process analysis and/or IT functional management 
  • Knowledge of and experience with the latest project methods and their customer-friendly application, like Agile/Scrum/Kanban. 
  • Proven ability in planning and organizing, advising and leading stakeholders and project team members, in a continuously changing environment.
  • Result-oriented, pro-active, culturally sensitive and able to self-manage.
  • Strong leadership, networking and communication skills (in English).

This is a salaried position. Working at Open Doors means that you are actively involved in the worldwide Persecuted Church. The position is allocated in the Netherlands (Harderwijk) or in the UK(Witney/home-based). 

*There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for this post to be held by an actively practising Christian who assents to our statement of faith.
