Overview

A practical workshop for accountants interested in International Development.

The AfID workshop is a fun, informative and interactive day designed both for accountants interested in volunteering overseas and those considering a career move into the sector

It’s a great way to learn about development, the varied roles for finance professionals, our assignments and the needs our many non-proft partners. The day is very relaxed and it is carefully designed to provide detailed insight into the different challenges, stakeholders and environments you will encounter; mixing real case studies and volunteer feedback.

  • Learn about the international development sector, the crucial role of accountants and AfID’s charity partners
  • Network with like-minded finance professionals keen to use their accounting skills to make a difference across the world
  • Put your questions to development expert John Cammack, the AfID team and a former volunteer

Each workshop is delivered by John Cammack, a very experienced independent consultant in the non-profit sector. John is a qualified CIPFA accountant, consultant and university lecturer. John has been involved with international development work for over 30 years, previously as Head of International Finance at Oxfam GB and then Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Financial Management at Oxford Brookes University.

The workshop runs from 8.30am - 5.00pm (Registration 8.15am-8.30am) and is followed by a volunteer presentation and Q&A 5.00pm - 5.30pm.

Workshop location:  ICAEW Head Office, One Moorgate Place, London EC2R 6EA
