Overview

The Certified Humanitarian and Stabilisation Associate (CHSA) credential is for those are currently studying, volunteering, or otherwise working in the humanitarian and stabilisation sector, but have less than 5 year’s relevant experience. It recognises the early career professionals across the globe working in complex and development environments, from civil society, international organisations, government, private sector, or academia.

CHSA Requirements: Our certification is professional recognition credentialling (not a classroom based training), for the CHSA you must have:

  • Between 1 and 5 years’ relevant professional experience at any level OR currently studying a relevant higher education/university degree (undergraduate, masters, or doctoral).

Entitlements: Once notified of your certification you are fully entitled use the respective CHSA post-nominal letters (i.e. designatory letters after your name). You may refer to your respective Professional Specialisation "Certified Humanitarian and Stabilisation Associate" designation in emails, letters, on business cards, and other places.

We also offer Practitioner (intermediate) and Manager (advanced) levels:

The Certified Humanitarian and Stabilisation Manager (CHSM) credential is the most senior certification from RoHSP. The CHSM is for senior leaders in the humanitarian and stabilisation profession. It recognises the high-standing of managers working in complex and development environments, from civil society, international organisations, government, private sector, or academia.

The Certified Humanitarian and Stabilisation Practitioner (CHSP) credential is the professional-level certification from RoHSP. The CHSM™ is for professionals and middle-managers in the humanitarian and stabilisation profession. It recognises practitioners working in complex and development environments, from civil society, international organisations, government, private sector, or academia.
