Drugs Awareness Course

Overview

This Drugs Awareness course will provide you with a general awareness of drugs and will prepare you for handling situations of drug dealing and use. Drug use and dealing on licensed premises can attract many problems such as unpleasant customers and enforcement action from regulatory authorities.

This course will enable learners to recognise the leading illegal drugs, and to understand the effects and problems associated with their use. It also offers guidance on how to spot and stop drug use and dealing.

The aim of the course is to introduce you to the following:

• Drugs classification and legislation
• Drug use on licensed premises
• Commonly used drugs and their effects
• Pub categories and the risk factor
• Why licensees should keep drugs off their premises

Module 1 – Drugs awareness

In this module, you will learn:

• The definition of ‘drugs’
• Classification of drugs
• Drugs legislation and the current drug strategy

Module 2 – Drug use on licensed premises

In this module, you will learn:

• The most common drugs used on licensed premises and their effects

Module 3: Pub categories and the likely risk factor

In this module, you will learn:

• Pub category and level of risk
• Most frequently asked questions associated with drugs
• The scale of the drug problem

Module 4: Why licensees should keep drugs off their premises

In this module, you will learn:

• The impact of drugs on licenced premises
• Aims and objectives of an anti-drugs policy
• How to assess the risks
• Spotting and stopping drug use and dealing
• Community partnerships

Exams and Accreditation Features:

• This course is accredited by The CPD Standards Office and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality and BIIAB.
• Our Online test will be multiple choice. You can retake the test at no extra cost to improve your grade.
• An accredited certificate is awarded upon completion which enable you to obtain certified CPD hours.

The course is divided into simple sections with a short quiz at the end of each to test your knowledge. Once you have progressed through each of the course sections you can complete an end of course quiz which consists of multiple-choice questions based on the material that you have studied.

Once you have passed the course you can download your fully accredited CPD certificate (PDF format) directly from your learning account.

Duration and Time Limit

The course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete, although there is no time limit and you can do it in your own time and in stages.

Completing this course is the perfect way to prove your knowledge. The certificate achieved is fully registered with the CPD Standards Office and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality and BIIAB..

You don’t need to have any previous training to do this course.

In order to complete this course, you must achieve 70% or more in the final multiple-choice quiz.
