Overview

We will explore some of the frameworks used for human behaviour change work including the Behaviour Change Wheel and the Theory of Change model.

Do you want to dig deeper into human behaviour change (HBC) to apply evidenced theory in practice? This workshop is designed for anyone involved in analysing and understanding human behaviour and working to develop interventions that will deliver positive change and improvements for animals, including the human animal.

Facilitator Jo White will be joined by guest speakers (soon to be announced) to guide you through some of the frameworks and theories that could aid your work, such as the Behaviour Change Wheel, Theory of Change and Stages of Change. Principles of HBC will be examined helping to unpack behaviours, examining the antecedents that impact upon existing and desired behaviours, the barriers or opportunities for delivering change, how models can help us move towards intention, and ultimately, deliver the desired behaviour change that will help animals.

The day will include lectures, discussions and exercises that will encourage active learning about the topics covered in this workshop. Guest speakers will provide case examples of how they have applied theory in practice to develop or change behaviours, sharing the lessons they have learnt along the way.

Whether you work for a charity, as a vet, a professional working with animals, if your focus is on individuals or populations, locally or internationally, if you are interested in learning more about applying evidenced, theory based behaviour change approaches to improve the lives of animals, this workshop is for you.

The event is kindly hosted by The Brooke who support the aims of HBCA and have undertaken inspiring work in HBC. The content of the day will be relevant to professionals working with any species.
