Overview

This is a comprehensive introductory course that combines education, discussion, and meditation practice, to support your wellbeing.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, looking to restart your meditation practice, or you work in a support role and want to embed your skills in your work, this course will ground you in the fundamentals and expand your understanding of meditation and mindfulness.

It runs from Wednesday 12 May, 9.00 am - 11.00 am, for 5 consecutive weeks (12, 19, 26 May, 2 and 9 June). Please see below the key themes that will be covered each week.

  • Week One: Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness
  • Week Two: Exploring the Benefits of Meditation
  • Week Three: Half-Way Reflection & Meditation Practice
  • Week Four: Prioritising your Self-Care
  • Week Five: Creating your Meditation & Mindfulness Plan

What you will learn

  • Consider how you can use mindfulness techniques and meditation as part of your daily self-care routine.
  • Learn about the history and the science of meditation and mindfulness.
  • Learn meditation techniques, such as body scanning and visualisations.
  • Harness your breath as a way to destress.
  • Learn how mindfulness and meditation can support self-care, self-love and self-acceptance through gratitude and loving kindness meditations.
  • Create and discuss ongoing meditation plans, to embed your practice on a regular basis.
  • Create time and space for you to reflect and relax.

What you require

The course is being run online via Zoom and participants will therefore require access to the internet.
